The mortal realm had a bit more of a "meant to be" element because of their history but I still maintain that TZ was naturally very attracted to Beautiful Bai and if there was absolutely no plot that we had to follow, I would wager that based purely on personality, those two would have gotten together naturally even if they never remembered their past again.
I love that they seem to endlessly amuse each other and had a lot in common in terms exploring mysteries and catching baddies. I'm not a big fan of "meant to be." I always feel like you need to be able to just enjoy each other for what you are.

I'm watching random snippets of Ashes of Love that keeps cropping up on YouTube. Aside from Yang Zi being adorable I find it interesting how shrewd Yan Dan is compared to the Jin Mi girl. JM seems clueless. Yan Dan, even the fun loving one at the beginning has a wonderful sense of self and knows exactly what she wants even if it's actually just to bum around and have fun.
Obviously I haven't seen the series properly but the Jin Mi girl seems to drift around from the clips I've seen. I find Yan Dan knows exactly what she's doing, even when she was handling YY in the cottage. She'd think and come back with a plan to manage him and his moods.
The bridge jump was probably the only meltdown she had.
Just want to clarify that I hope I don't offend any AoL fans. I adore Yang Zi obviously that's why I'm watching the clips. These are my observations. I actually might watch it for the love triangle (there seems to be one?). Sometimes a girl is in the mood for a messed up love triangle.
