I've been a fan of Ohm since Make it Right. In my completely biased opinion he's an amazing actor. Knowing everything him and Leng have been dealing with because of crazy people, I was hoping to support this legally, but it's not airing on yt in my country and I don't have GagaOOLala. GMMTV continues to disappoint me 😮‍💨.

Because it's Ohm, I won't critique the first episode like I do with most series. But I thought it was no better or worse than most of the Thai BLs that have aired in the last few years.

Not even 48 hours after one of my favorite JBLs ever ends, this starts and I'm hooked!!!! While Thailand continues to give us an unlimited supply of the same plots and character types over and over, Japan keeps it fresh week after week. No one does complex imperfect characters better!

I fully expect some really sad and difficult things to happen in this series. But Double Mints is my favorite movie and I'd be shocked if this is that dark. Either way, I can't wait til next week.

I've only given 2 series this year a 10 and I'm sooooo glad this is one of the 2. I didn't love the first episode,…
I've read plenty of comments from people who don't like the series and I get it. But for me 2024 will go down as the best year (so far) of BL because of the variety of plots and characters. With so many series, we all can find something we love and drop or hate watch the things we don't like 😊

I've only given 2 series this year a 10 and I'm sooooo glad this is one of the 2. I didn't love the first episode, but I LOVED everything else.

I'm a sucker for stories that focus on the growing relationship between the main characters and ones that fully develop those characters. And for me, this show did exactly that. Takara taking himself so seriously at all times felt completely believable because we got so much backstory showing how he became that way. Taishin being innocent, dumb and wide eyed at all times was equally believable because of the backstory and everything he experienced during the series. The season wasn't about hormones and passion, but finding someone who truly gets you and never wanting to let them go. That felt so rare, special and beautiful in all the later episodes.

The BL gods are either blessing me more than I deserve with the spin off or cursing me for daring to ask for a sequel last week. Either way, I'll be watching every single second as soon as it airs and praying that the endless curse of the BL sequel does not ruin my perfect series 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.

Episode 5 was definitely my favorite so far. I love the way Yohei is written, such a great friend/parent. I'm also really looking forward to next week and the slow progression of the relationship.

After sitting through 30 minutes and realizing it wasn't even half over, I gave up. A rating below 7 seems right. Anyone who isn't new to Thai BL has seen this dozens of times before. Freshman going through hazing, a million bland side characters who just can't wait to say useless lines, "actors" who deliver lines like they're at the first script reading but seem to not have done one workshop to create/build chemistry, annoying sound effects that feel like they never stop, scenes that just happen, characters who are supposed to be teenagers played by actors in their mid to late 20s, no time spent getting to know the main characters, no reason to feel invested in anything, "pretty" girls who are just there to wear skimpy clothes, cause problems, be sassy and have a "Western" look. Nope, no thanks, I'm leaving.

I thought 5 episodes would make this bearable, but my standards are just too high to put up with another lazily written/directed/acted/edited Thai BL. It's 2024, I've seen MUCH better and I expect better.

Of course I spent the whole episode squealing and making heart eyes because of these adorable idiots 😍😍. Takara thinking he's the most complicated man in the world while Taishin is in a fairytale romance of Takara's creation is just too cute. Takara doesn't know what love is while actively falling in love with Taishin. Taishin doesn't know how to be in a relationship while actively being a great and supportive boyfriend. These two are just the best!!!!! I stan guys who can communicate!

I demand a season 2! Jk, a second season always ruins great BLs. I'll just enjoy the last two episodes and rewatch it a ton of times 🥰.

Don't worry. If you didn't like it, that's it; and if the ending is good you can binge-watching it in a few weeks.
Thank you ❤️. I agree, I'll check back here when it ends and if the comments are strong, I'll probably finish it then.

Thank you ❤️. I probably would have stuck with it if there were more episodes. I think a fully fleshed out story would have been great. Oh well, I hope you enjoy the rest.

I rarely watch things that make me cry so much, but I am soooooooo glad I finally watched this movie and avoided spoilers!!!

If you go in expecting a typical BL, you will likely be disappointed. l'm sure the people who wanted a BL are the ones who lowered the rating. If you want to watch a mature movie with complex gay characters you will probably love it. 9.5/10 Bring tissues, you'll need them.

When you remember it's based on a true story: MORE TISSUES!

I'm so glad I accidentally watched the 2nd episode first. It made me invested in the characters and their relationships and I'm looking forward to the next episode. IMO the first episode was not good compared to the 2nd. It felt like all the worst parts of high school combined in a very long and tedious 45 minutes.

Also, they definitely aren't related. And even if they were step brothers (which they aren't) that's a pretty common BL/yaoi trope. Not sure why people always freak out about it, but whenever. We all have preferences and no one is forced to watch a series with a premise they dislike.

I only have myself to blame for getting my hopes up and thinking this would be my favorite series of the year after I watched Bible and Jes in Spaceless. But with only 3 episodes left, I'm dropping this.

There have been some nearly prefect shows that had 6 episodes or less and plenty of shows that would have been better with only 8 episodes. But here everything feels forced, rushed or contrived. The lead characters feel like side characters, many of the interesting plot points get pushed aside to focus on characters I have absolutely no interest in and honestly I'm just tried of the suffering and misery. Pretty much all of the female characters (except the nurse and the college girls) in this series highlight the ways society fails women/girls and sometimes traps them in situations they did not choose and can't escape. It's heartbreaking to watch and could be very compelling in many genres. But it just doesn't feel like that kind of story, told in such a heavyhanded way, is needed in a BL where most of the audience is watching to see boys (in this case men) fall in love.

But I'm not complaining because I'm not surprised. Sammon did the same thing in Manner of Death, which is one of my favorite series. Powerful people using poor people as slaves, sexual and physical assault, no one in a position of authority doing anything to protect the victims, yup it all happened in MoD. But that series had leads that were the main focus of the story and established solid on screen chemistry before MoD. I love Bible and Jes is doing a good job, but their characters barely know each other and don't seem that interested in being together. I hope the ending is strong and everything gets resolved, but with 3 episodes left I can't think a reason to continue.

P.S. I've already said I'm dropping the show, but I'm sure my comment will piss off someone who just has to respond and tell me why my opinion is completely wrong. I don't comment on here as much as I used to because I'm tired of arguing with people who just started watching BL when I dare to share my thoughts on a series. So if you respond with personal attacks, I'll block you without replying.

I dropped it when it originally aired and only finished it this time on 2x speed because of Offroad. While it was slightly better than most low rated Thai BLs. It was also way too long and made me wish any of the other characters were the leads.

I think a stronger writer would have been able tell a better/more interesting story about two guys who are kinda depressed, kinda over everything, with little going on in their lives and make it worth watching. But that didn't happen here. I liked pretty much every character except Mon and So. Mon had stronger chemistry with Saint throughout the majority of the series, Saint was the only one who made him happy until the last episode. But the writer wanted to play games and that was obvious from the start. Things happened to create "tension" but I could never get invested with So being an ass for most of the series and Mon scouling constantly. While the other characters were better, no one was given much to do except for in a couple of episodes.

This series could have been really good, but it wasn't good at all. And in the end I'm just glad Offroad has continued his acting career with an amazing partner.

I need next week's episode to come quickly because that date was a hot mess. Takara has the patience of a saint!
On Sugar Dog Life Aug 19, 2024
I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion, but I'm just not seeing anything from these two that makes me think they'll eventually fall in love. I love JBLs and usually love slice of life stories, but everything here feels bland and underwhelming.

Since we're back in an era where it's becoming increasingly harder to find subbed episodes of new JBLs, I'll definitely be sticking with this one, but I do hope future episodes pull me in more.

On 4Minutes (Sultrier Version) Aug 17, 2024
It gets better every single week!!! The story is really intense and I'm not going to try to guess what's happening, but it was so wonderful to see Bible play a character in a sex scene where both participants were enjoying themselves completely. The smiles made me so happy!
