An unlikable character doesn't equal to horribly written character. Maybe you should think about why a story about…
I agree with you completely. I guess I was wrong thinking that behavior was mostly relegated to Thai BL pages. Oh well, I've become accustomed to censoring my thoughts on many series, I won't bother posting on this page going forward. Clearly the humanity of a questionable fictional character is more important than the humanity of the people who actually use MDL.
I really enjoyed this installment. Mean Plan are always great together and the other characters are always fun in the Pee Nak movies. I hope Pee Nak 5 gets made soon!
With so many BLs airing these days, I find myself being more selective about what I watch than I was a few years ago. I tend to lose interest in shows where I don't feel an emotional connection to anyone or anything. I watched the 1st 2 episodes in the middle of the afternoon and nodded off more than once. The characters gave me nothing, the contrived "everyone just happens to know each other" situations made me roll my eyes and the music wasn't my taste.
I think it's way too early to say it's bad, but I can say I don't have a reason to stick with it right now. I also have no opinion on the age gap if both characters are of age. Idk how old the younger guy is, but the actor is 25, so it doesn't feel like a huge deal to me personally. I'm putting this on hold for now, I may binge it in the future.
Wow this gets better every single week!!!! Strong actors can make even a simple story feel really special and Yoji and Eito are so perfect as Takara and Taishin I just can't get enough of this series!
Every moment of Taishin's awkward, confused, nervous, shy reactions feel completely real. He openly expresses what most people feel in their first relationship, but with a naive innocence that is so precious and adorable 🥰. And Takara is not just the typical bland cool guy, he's a ball of emotions with a stoic mask. I love both of them so much! The flashbacks are sad, wonderful and give the audience a peak behind the mask. Now that's solid storytelling!!!
And the strawberry pudding 😊. I was squealing for most of the episode, so CUTE! I can't wait for next week.
This show is pure gold. It feels like it exists in a world where BL has evolved past just telling stories about boys and shows that gay love can happen at any age. The fact that Japan brought us this gem is no surprise, I just hope in the future we get many more series with older lead characters.
It's not a 6.1. The first episode was bad, but the 2nd episode was much better when it only focused on the 4 leads.…
Edit after episode 4:
No matter how low the rating gets, it's deserved. Previous Xion series at least had good acting and characters I could be invested in. This has neither, with no plot and scene after scene of pretty leads doing nothing. Vapid relationships, useless side characters who are straight out of a lakorn/soap opera/telenovela, uninteresting sex scenes and too much childish toilet bowl level humor.
I skimmed the episode and used 2 x speed. I'm gonna try to stick with it, but there is nothing I can recommend about this series except the beautiful filming locations.
This wasn't poorly written and the acting was solid throughout. All of the characters felt very realistic and I appreciated the real kisses which is something you almost never see in KBLs. If I considered only those factors, I'd say this was a great series. The problem for me is that any stories made for a romantic genre (BL or straight) need more than that to be great.
If I can't believe in the love of the leads, it all falls apart. And that's what happened here. All 4 characters could definitely exist in the real world, but the relationship would likely not last long. One guy is too devoted and understanding and the other guy doesn't communicate and is easily swayed by anyone who shows up with something to say.
What could have been romantic, felt sad, frustrating and depressing. Lies, cheating and lots of miscommunication are some of the least enjoyable things that can happen in a relationship and in a BL. But this show had all that and some great kisses. Overall, I kinda regret watching it, even though I still think it was well made and acted. It left me feeling blue!
Everything was working until she showed up. I'm about to watch part 2, I hope it's not as frustrating as part 1.
So far, I do like the story and both actors are doing a convincing job. The situation with the woman, while very irritating, also feels realistic. Which is unfortunate.
I raraly disagree with MDL ratings, but this one feels kinda like sabotage. It's pretty much a 10 minute pilot to fundraise and create interest for the actual series. It's not a full plot and was never intended to be that.
If smaller companies take a chance on a project and then get trashed for the concept video, we're gonna keep getting the same plots over and over. I hope people ignore the rating and watch this on the official youtube channel and that the full series gets made.
I'm still absolutely loving everything about this show except Korn and the gambling ring. But I know everything is connected so I'll keep watching his scenes. I can't wait for next week!
You will get one... and at least it has no absurd story, it's better paced then other thai shows and it's not…
I never said it didn't take time. I never said I wouldn't give it time. The company put out 3 episodes for people to watch and decide how they felt about the show. I watched 3 episodes and came here and shared my initial thoughts.
You can think whatever you want about those episodes just like all of us on here can. What works for one person doesn't have to work for others. I really don't think my first impression should impact you, but here we are.

Like many other commenters, I am also an introvert. Some of my favorite tv characters are introverts. Having an introverted character is not an issue. Having a lead character who goes to a crowded college, moves into a loud dorm and hates interacting with people, is a writing choice.
At the end of the day, there isn't one type of introvert. And what some viewers identify with, doesn't always resonate with all viewers. When creating a show, if you want to appeal to a small audience that's a choice. But if other people don't like it, they can say that. I think if the character was portrayed by a skilled actor who can show the nuances of Diew, the scenes would be more believable and feel more interesting.
Again, him being an introvert is not a problem. But everything I wrote is only my opinion. I am fine if others disagree with me and I'm open to the possibility that I will like the character more in the future.
