Another week of Wandee and Yoyak being a better couple than almost all the other BL couples, while actually being FWB/ fake boyfriends and I'm completely here for it!!!! Every scene with those 2 is amazing. Inn and Great have such good chemistry, I'd watch them in anything.
I also love the scenes with Cher and Yak's brother. It's funny how the hospital is almost always the least interesting part of BLs with doctors. They could skip all those scenes and add more scenes with the MLs and I'd be good with it.
I guess I'm the outlier, but I was bored and almost fell asleep 3 times even though I watched in the morning and it was only 24 minutes.
It felt like one of those "perfect" couples who constantly post their "perfect" dates on social media. No substance and nothing to connect to. Just a bunch of greeting card level sweet nothings and a cameo that felt shoe horned in. The original original series was fine, this was not good.
For me, this is still the best series airing right now. But I always dread the next episode. Mainly because I know Joe will continue to be surrounded by red flags and put in terrible situations. The scenes with Joe and his mom are the only ones I actually enjoy.
But this isn't a criticism of the show. The fact that Up and Mek are skillfully portraying awful characters and I still want to know how the story will unfold, is a testament to their acting abilities and the writer's ability to create and interesting plot with interesting characters. All of the actors and crew are doing a fantastic job and I REALLY appreciate that.
I watched both of MeenPing's series and I think Meen is a good actor, but I'm kinda more excited to see Nammon and Frank than the leads together again. Either way, I'm looking forward to this one.
This is so true! I feel like Thai BLs are really going in the right direction, this series is a proof of that!
I think we're looking at this from different perspectives. IMO the low viewership is mostly because Thai BL has gotten worse over the years. Even though I think 2024 has been a great year overall for BL, the only Thai series I'm watching are this and My Stand In.
Both shows feel special to me because they have experienced people in front of and behind the camera which has become increasingly rare in Thailand these days. The vast majority of Thai BLs that I've seen in the last couple of years have been mediocre at best.
I love this show so much. Not conforming to outdated heteronormative standards, discussing STIs/safe sex and a bi muay thai boxer! This is a BL with elements of an LGBTQ+ series. Unlike so many Thai BLs that are filled with extremely rich young masters who deal with superficial problems, it's wonderful to have a show with skilled actors and talented people behind the camera, that tells the stories of gay and bi people who could actually exist irl.
I'm just sad this didn't air a few years ago when more people were watching Thai BL. I think each episode would have gotten millions of views, but since Thai BL viewership keeps going down, this awesome show has weak viewership.
I've been wanting to watch this since it originally aired and I'm glad I finally did. I'm not sure if the rating…
I was sad that episode 9 included non-consensual sex. It underminded the relationship and didn't advance the story in any meaningful way. The lazy explanation in episode 10, didn't really help the situation. Which was sad since that was my favorite couple. That episode made me lower my rating.
I've been wanting to watch this since it originally aired and I'm glad I finally did. I'm not sure if the rating would be higher if it got a wider distribution and subs, but I think this is very under rated.
Yes, it has all the classic BL tropes, including endless sound effects, music and an evil ex girlfriend. But it's also got great LGBTQ representation, multiple couples with unique relationships, and amateur actors who actually have chemistry with each other. The flimsy plot isn't groundbreaking, but the sincerity of the characters allowed me to enjoy the series from start to finish.
I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to watch a simple sweet light hearted series.
Your 'I know he won't' says it all. No matter what crap the main leads do, eventually they get away with it in…
Exactly. It's ridiculous and normalizes terrible behavior. Kidnapping is not romantic, but this isn't the first or last BL that's included it in a series where the kidnapper ends up with his victim. Ming is obviously the worst person Joe has ever met. And somehow the writer will likely spend the rest of the series making Joe forgive him and get back together with him.
For a show that's doing so much right, this is really reducing my enjoyment of it. But maybe it won't go the way expect, idk.
I HOPE that they won't get back together, but like you mentioned the director might make it happen
Right. Sadly, some writers think the main characters ending up together, no matter how bad the behavior of one of those characters was, equals a happy ending. But if that happens here, it will be tragedy not a happy ending.
Sigh. I watched this immediately after finishing the series and it was not pleasant. I know special episodes of bad Thai series are always bad. I know Paapare is the worst director in Thai BL history. I know 9Naa thinks porn is the same as BL. But none of that makes this enjoyable to watch. The actors really deserve so much better. And 9NAA should go out of business.
Another week in my journey through bad Thai BLs brought me here. And i must admit, this time I was conflicted. When it originally aired, I watched episode 1 and dropped it. This time I binged 2-10.5.
The majority of the series was fine. 3 couples, cat and mouse, bad communication, meddling parents and other issues. Most of the characters were fine and I appreciated the sincerity of Sky. As each overly long episode dragged on and the same issues kept coming back up and the characters didn't grow at all, it became obvious that the writer and director failed the cast and audience.
I won't say one word about the acting, because a competent company hires an acting coach or takes more time to let the actors get comfortable with the characters BEFORE they start filming. A competent director and writer understand the characters and relays that to the actors BEFORE filming. A competent writer doesn't just rely on filling the end of the series with sex scenea in an attempt to mask the lack of script. A competent director doesn't film actors in an endless amount of sex scenes that would make even an experienced porn star blush. A competent company would not find a group of underpaid newer actors, put them in a soft core porn and expect audiences to enjoy it.
Paapare should never be allowed to work in this industry again. Her actions have destroyed too many careers and made a mockery of too many young men who were just trying to enter the industry. After Check Out, she should have stopped. After Kieski 2, she must be stopped!!! We know some people have no shame. She deserves to be shamed not the actors. And 9Naa should immediately be shut down and not given one more penny from the government or any sponsor.
I feel so sorry for all of the actors. It's obvious they tried and did the best they could. Each of them deserved so much better. And I truly hope audiences stop attacking actors when series are bad and look at the people behind the camera who get paid even when a series turns into porn and the actors can't get another job.
I'll admit that this wasn't my favorite episode. It had to happen to move the story forward and set up the relationship dynamics for the characters in the present day. But it was all overly telegraphed. I won't complain though because it made me empathize with Joe, other Joe's mom and Wut even more. I'm also proud of Joe for standing up for himself. But I'm also sure he could have tried to explain the situation to the director guy or just leave the industry for some time, instead of immediately taking that obviously dangerous job.
I'm also anxiously anticipate the day Tong gets what he deserves. But most importantly, I'm done with Ming. I expect that the rest of the story will be centered around Ming and Joe getting back together and the writer will make great efforts to redeem Ming. But the reddest flag showed all of us exactly who he is. Squatting in the house of the person you kidnapped for TWO YEARS, is not sweet or romantic. It's insane. Either way, Poom is doing an incredible job and I'm looking forward to seeing him resolving all his problems and I hope he ends up with a good guy! (I know he won't)
I took your advice after halfway through episode 3 and the cousin talk…😳. Good looking out
You're welcome! It seemed like most of the positive comments focused on the kissing and if people were expecting kissing throughout the whole series, I knew some would be disappointed.
I have not laughed so much while watching a BL in a loooooonnnngggg time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. The last 5 minutes was peak Two Worlds and summed up the series perfectly. Nonsense and sex scenes.
I'm glad I watched it though because I still love MaxNat and 10 weeks of blah, 🤔, 😒, and 🙃 was exactly what I needed. Evil Thai ended up being my favorite character and he helped Nat's acting a bit too. Gun was an extra after the first couple of episodes and Jao and Wayu seemed like an after thought for all the other characters and writer. I feel bad for Khram's parents, but at least we got a happy ending.
IMO Naughty Babe/CP were better because at least they had Nong. I love Nong! But I also really appreciate MaxNat fans on here. Every week I dragged this series out of love, but not once did anyone attack me for sharing my opinions. That never happens with MDL pages for Thai BLs these days. Thank you everyone for not being mean! I'm looking forward to the next MaxNat sex show aka series. I'm pretty sure they have more fun during they sex scenes than they do with the acting and good for them 👏👏
I also love the scenes with Cher and Yak's brother. It's funny how the hospital is almost always the least interesting part of BLs with doctors. They could skip all those scenes and add more scenes with the MLs and I'd be good with it.

Slight spoiler for episode 9 below...
