One thing I've learned about MDL (and the internet in general) is that some people will excuse any terrible/evil behavior if they like a character or actor enough. And some people genuinely believe rape is not a big deal. I personally hope no one ever gets raped. But I also wish people who haven't experienced any form of sexual violence would listen to people who have experienced it and realize that it's not a laughing matter.

I agree with your points about Patrick. I may have misread it, but it seemed like Nicky relented instead of being into it. Like he accepted that it was going to happen either way and wanted to avoid getting hurt. Either way, both scenes were gross to watch and I wish there was a trigger warning so I could have skipped the episode.

I think I'm less optimistic than you about them trying to correct this in the next episode. The series probably ended filming months ago, even if there is wide backlash against episode 7, it's too late to do reshoots for the finale. Also, if the writers thought 2 acts of sexual violence were fine in 7, I don't trust them to do anything to make amends.

There was an obvious sincerity in this production that made me not dislike it. The english was surprising and the story was simple. Overall, it was unique in a good way.

I'm not really sure what I just watched, but the actors had good chemistry. I'd watch more episodes of this if they ever get made.

I'm so glad that the general consensus on here is what the fuck. I have known from the beginning that this wasn't a good show, but I went along with it because the characters were mostly likeable and the story was unique. But episode 7 ruined everything.

If you resist it will hurt and it's not rape if we're boyfriends are wrong in every way. Part of me is shocked that those lines were written and spoken. But the other part of me knows the leads were in Love Syndrome 3, a series with endless non-consent. So I'm not really surprised, just disgusted. I'll finish this because there's only 1 episode left, but my rating will be much lower than it would have been without rape and non-consensual sex!

To be clear, I'm not saying stories that include rape/non-con should not exist. Rape and non-con happen everyday irl, so when shows/movies include them for narrative purposes, that is understandable. But neither act of sexual violence served a narrative purpose other than to show which characters are the most despicable. Which was probably not what the writers wanted people to think of 2 of the main characters.

P.S. For any rape apologists considering replying to my comment, don't bother. I know it's impossible to have a rational conversation with rape apologists because people who think rape isn't a big deal or want to create levels of rape are irrational. If you comment to me, I will not respond and immediately block you.

Same. In all of their series, at least one of them was in college. I'm guessing Off's character in this series isn't in college, but I didn't stick around long enough to find out. I just want something new from them.

Back when only a few BLs aired at a time, sticking with shows I didn't really connect with made sense to me. Now there are at least a dozen BLs airing at any time and dropping shows is easier for me.

I haven't liked a GMMTV BL since Moonlight Chicken. But I have watched all of OffGun's previous series. I've been a fan of them since 2017. I know GMMTV is sticking with a business model that works for the company. Shows with massive casts to give their massive roster some work. Mostly light hearted/feel good comedies/rom coms and main characters who are in college or high school. I'm sure these things appeal to the widest audience. But I've been watching Thai BL for 7 years. The genre has grown/evolved a lot in those years and so have I. Unfortunately for me, it doesn't feel like GMMTV has grown and isn't letting some actors grow either. Some companies are making BL dramas/horror/action/suspense, I wish GMMTV would try any of those genres more frequently. For now, I'm looking forward to Kidnap and My Golden Blood.

I hope one day Gun (30) and Off (33) are in a series where both of them are in their 30s and dealing with the things that stage of life brings. I'd watch that series, I won't be watching The Trainee. But I wish OG and all of the actors success with this series.

I dropped this before 1/4 ended. I can't sit through another over the top office "comedy" with a million characters that I don't think is funny.

I agree that Luke's character was a bit cringy, but Luke is half Japanese, so IMO I don't think calling it "mockery" fits in this case. He does comedic videos about his Japanese heritage regularly on social media.

Wow just wow. This was so good, so real and so short. I have all the feels 👏👏👏. Everyday without PP acting in BLs is a crime. PP please start acting again.

Oh wow. I didn't expect the "story" to unfold like that. Boat and the other actor did a good job, but 9NAA can't make a good series or short film so this felt like more of the same from them.

I think this would have been pretty good if it had been made by a decent company. Knowing it's a student film made it easier to watch.

I can't decide if the last 10 minutes made it better or ruined it. But it was an intriguing twist that I didn't coming.

It's hard to decide what is/isn't a BL these days. It is about two boyfriends so watch it in youtube if you're interested. If you decide to watch, try to avoid spoilers.

I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see a mostly realistic portrayal of a very unhealthy/abusive relationship. Warning: this is not light or fluffy.

I've accepted this show for what it is, so I won't bother complaining about Dee acting like a chaste prince(ss) in every other scene because the writers think using that plot device constantly is interesting/entertaining. I'll just say that I'm glad Dee and Yak have moved past the fake boyfriends stage and are getting closer to being actual boyfriends. And I'm glad we got more of Oye and the family history this week and less of the hospital and college.

Luke's character was also really fun.

There was a grain of a good story here and the leads had decent chemistry. Unfortunately the first episode barely moved the story forward. And the 2nd episode rushed too much. This might have been good with 4 or 6 episodes.

Poom and Up have officially become my favorite new ship of 2024!

I'm not sure what could have made this story better, but it was a miss from start to finish. So much happened, but it kinda felt like nothing really happened. The friendship was nice, but the story was rushed and mostly flashbacks.

That makes sesne. Idk many of the actors names for shows I watch. But I usually know the names of the GMMTV actors since I've watched most of their BLs.
