Yeah you're not going to find that in a GMMTV rom-com, so I wouldn't expect it. There are other darker shows you…
I can think of many shows that aren't dark that are more realistic than most GMMTV shows. But no one forced me to watch this or keep watching it, so I only have myself to blame for continuing to watch it as the quality went down.
Tiny Great Great Grandpa San is my new favorite character. He's a little angry adorable old man š¤£. I love that they're not taking everything too seriously, the family behaves like a family and they're calling out how absurd waiting a hundred years for someone would actually be. I hope the writing stays consistent.
We live in an era where gay marriage is nearly legal in Thailand, BL actors are admitting that they have irl boyfriends/girlfriends, the quality of some series have rapidly increased, GLs are starting to consistently tell lesbian stories and so much more. As much as I've appreciated Thai BLs over the years for bringing LGBTQ people into the mainstream of some countries, it feels more and more like some BL companies aren't trying.
Clowns, balloon animals, Ter with Taemrak, random car trouble, in a city with 11 million people someone you know randomly seeing you on the street, a gay kiss at a boxing match where everyone cheers, it's just too silly for me to enjoy. Inn and Great look great together. Thor and Great are showing everyone that they're great actors. But the plot feels less and less realistic every week.
I REALLY want to enjoy this show. But times have changed and so have my expectations. It is possible to write a Thai BL with adult characters who do things that adults do and experience the problems/hardships adults experience in a realistic setting. I've seen it done, but that's not what happens in GMMTV shows these days. And that's unfortunate for people like me. But congratulations to Inn and Great on their award.
Maybe my standards are low after seeing too many Wuxia Chinese "BLs" after the ban, but for me this felt like a nice blast from the past. It gave me 2017 vibes in a fun way. And I was really glad the truth came out about HuaiEn so quickly. I think I'll enjoy this series. And I'm not expecting anything great.
Wow this is REALLY good. I love it when a series can you give you so much character history/background in a short amount of time. I feel like I know more about Taichi in 2 episodes than I do about most BL leads by the end of a series.
Since the beginning, I've said that this was the best Thai BL of the year. And I still feel like that might be true. The acting, directing and cinematography were top tier throughout. Up and Poom are still my favorite new ship of the year, but the show had flaws.
I won't complain about how the most evil guy faced no consequences, that is what usually happens in Thai BLs. I won't complain about Joe2 being the real stand in and how it feels like Winner was given nothing to do. I won't complain about not getting enough time with Mike and Jim. I just wish the last few episodes weren't so far fetched/contrived and that the finale wasn't so completely easy and nearly perfect for all of the characters.
I liked the show a lot, in the end I didn't love it. But I hope UpPoom get a new series soon!!!
Fans who LOVE an original work don't often like a remake as much. I think that's part of why this is so low rated. I never saw the anime, but I thought this show was fantastic since it aired. I've never been so moved by a song in a BL. I also love grunge, so the vocals and musical style fits me.
I'm so happy for Mew and Tul. I hope they get nothing but support and well wishes on social media and from people they meet. And that they stay happy, healthy and together forever. Real love is so much more beautiful than ships and imaginary couplesā¤ļø

The BL gods blessed again š„°š„°. I'm completely biased because Love In Translation made me ship Daou and Offroad and I knew I would love their next series no matter what. I didn't watch the trailer, so I had no idea what this would be about and I LOVED the 1st episode!!!
All of the characters were amazing, the comedic moments weren't over the top, the premise is unique but also familiar and the last few minutes were shocking in a great way. My only complaint is that this will only be on for 5 weeks instead of 10 because I want it to last as long as possible. I hope everyone gives this show a chance!!!!
I've seen most of the My Universe episodes and this is easily the best story I've seen. Kaownah and Turbo have an undeniable chemistry and make their relationship feel very believable.
If you have a fear of ghosts, you might want to skip this one.
But there was nothing to enjoy in the last episode at all. You could have skipped it and nothing would be amiss.
I have enjoyed every scene where Rak and Mut were together. Each episode shows them growing closer and their bond getting stronger.
I know some people aren't connected with the series and that's fine. I personally didn't like episode 4. But there are things about the show that I like a lot.
Mame is giving me whiplash. She's obviously trying to win the award for most irritating female characters in a BL series, but I just don't understand why. I'm sure when Rak's mother shows up she'll be even worse than the little sister. BL being a genre with so many female fans and also having so many terrible female characters will never make sense to me. Mame is making a bad situation much worse.
But Rak and Mut and Peat and Fort continue to be wonderful together. So I'll keep fast forwarding through the rest so I can enjoy them.
The bad: *Mick, easily the worst character from the worst BL ever made aka Crazy Handsome Rich. Mon was terrible here as well. Loud, weird, out of place. Yes, we know he's not handsome like the other actors/models in the cast. But constantly telling the audience that only very good looking people deserve love was mean spirited and dumb. I can't really feel bad for him though because he never tried to meet anyone during the whole show and just whined all the time. *The predators. Joe and Patrick were the real villains. Smiling while confessing to sexual assault and rape. I have nothing good to say about either character and the writers only have themselves to blame for that. *The straight couple, I fast forwarded past all their scenes. *The ukes, docile, textbook examples of the hetero normative script writing that is often used to make mostly female audiences cheer, but is actually offensive and outdated. *The vampire world, a nice idea that was never fully fleshed out. This was barely a show about vampires because the writers never put any effort into anything that aligns with vampire lore. Drinking blood, sorta maybe once or twice. Can't go out into sunlight, daytime is cool. Fear of garlic or crosses, not at all. Almost invincible, lol noooooooo. *The makeup and costumes, enough black outfits for everyone and reddish paint anytime someone was supposed to have a bruise. *The writer and director, please find a new career!!!!!
I love bad Thai BLs. I try to watch them all because I get a sick enjoyment of seeing the worst of the worst. This is not the worst BL of the year, but this also should have never been made. There's nothing here to recommend and nothing to laugh at. Watching paint dry would be more entertaining.
i saw it when takara told taishin he was creepy for wanting to meet him again, it just gave off very strong kiyoi…
I think I didn't explain what I meant very well in my first post. Yes, there are parallels between the characters in this series and the characters in My Beautiful Man. But the premise has been used in a lot of series and wasn't unique to MBM.
Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai! Kota was an awkward student who stalked/pursued Naoya and they fell in love. Sahara Sensei to Toki-kun. Toki was a delinquent who didn't fit in at school, he met Sahara and starting going to school just to be around him and they fell in love. Minato Shouji Coin Laundry. Katsuki was saved by Minato and Katsiki who in this story is the cool guy, pursued Minato until they fell in love. As the cool guy, most people wouldn't say Katsuki is creepy, but his behavior probably would have been considered creepy if his character was "nerdy".
This also isn't unique to Japan. SOTUS. One of the first super famous BLs. Kongpob meets Arthit and decides to go to the same college just to be with him. Arthit is older and very popular and they fall in love. Secret Crush on You. "Nerdy" Toh literally stalks Nuea for years and Nuea is a cool older student and they fall in love. More recently, 23.5. Ongsa is an awkward new student who makes up a fake online identity just to get close to Sun. Sun is cool and they fall in love.
I could name many more many from Asia and other parts of the world. Most of them have a main character who does "creepy" things but ends up in a relationship with the cool guy/girl at the school. We should expect parallels from shows in the same genre. There are only so many different types of young love story that can written. But that's true for all genres. What makes a story special isn't the premise, it's how the story unfolds. And in romantic stories, the chemistry between the characters.
Historical record of gay pink films:https://kisskh.at/list/1xrm2893
Thank you for adding this comment/history. It seems like most MDL commenters of newer pink films, watch them expecting to see a BL and then are shocked when it's mostly sex and not much story.

Aaron should be in jail and at the very least be taken off this series.

The good: it's finally over
