Can you elaborate on what got edited out of Only Friends ?

It happens with series with popular ships all the time.

Yeah. I think it's mostly a Thai and KBL problem. Because shipping culture in Thai BL is out of control and many KBLs have k-pop idols in the series. So both fandoms tend to be more rabid and blindly devoted than you see with Taiwanese or Japanese series. It's really unfortunate because these "fans" aren't helping their idols. They're trying to reward mediocrity and alienating other viewers.

Nothing ruins a series like dealing with personal attacks from random people on the internet just because you shared your opinion about a tv series. But these "fans" don't care about anything other than praising their favs. Smh.

GMMTV BL series consistently have inflated ratings. When I look at the profiles of people praising the show while attacking other commenters or behaving as if this series is flawless, they tend to be newer accounts or people who have only seen a small amount of BLs or people who rate every series a 10. I used to think the company created fake accounts to inflate their ratings. Idk if that's true, but I do think some people create accounts just to give certain series a very high rating no matter if the writing/acting/directing is bad.

This was better than I expected. The first couple of episodes were really bad. They spent too much time explaining the details of the dorm, instead of focusing on the characters. But the later episodes were decent. I really liked all 3 couples. But I wish they had focused on all 3 at the end. It felt like the secondary couples disappeared after they got together.

The ending was pretty much a let down. There was no resolution for the villains, the plot around the mask was ridiculous, the finished product was laughably ineffective and the tired "travel abroad" to split up the couple trope was completely unnecessary.

But Bank and Earth did a great job. They had solid chemistry. The development of their relationship was realistic. Even though it felt like the writer was a teenage girl who didn’t know much about how guys in college actually think/behave. But I can look past that because the target audience is young girls/women. Overall, this was better than most Thai BLs that came out this year. The script could have been better, but I liked the characters and actors.

I know I shouldn't, but I kinda liked this episode. Keke and Fifth didn't spend the entire episode hurting each other. Iris made a bit of progress with Lorraine. Joel and Jason made up AGAIN.

Everything else was bad, but this show is ALWAYS bad, so that's not surprising. Sky's mom constantly threatening to kick people out is just mean. Especially since none of the 3 guys have a good family situation. I always fast forward when I see Jelai or Kim. But I must say Jelai is a terrible dean. They only yell at the kids, call them names and gossip about them. Jelai should find another job! But Jason is easily the worst character on the show. Always saying "I don't care" when he hurts someone, he's petty amd extremely selfish and immature.

But I mostly emjoyed the Kevin Keke stuff. I watch BL and read yaoi to see men/boys in love, not constant lies, yelling, sadness and tears. So much of the genre is about unrequited love, that everything between Keke Kevin seems relatable. Because the writing is truly awful they haven't actually made Kevin seem like a villian. His only crime was not immediately accepting Keke's confession. But failed confessions happen irl and in tv all the time. I wish Keke Kevin were end game. Since they aren't, I'm going wait for two people who be together to get back together in the next few episodes just because the "story" demands it.

It's so refreshing to see such strong actors in a series. They are both so good that it made the non-con and lack of effective communication slightly less frustrating. I'm glad the writer is willing to tackle the complexities of a relationship with this type of power imbalance in a BL. But with only 2 episodes left, I feel like this will yet another series that waits until the last minute for a,couple to actually be boyfriends.

It felt like half the episode was flashbacks to fill the time and the other half all I could think was "huh?" I'm exhausted from the constant psychological torture Kang puts Sailom through. But I've also stopped caring about either of them or their relationship. Everything worked out in the end because of course it did and as the writers race to the finish line, I'm just glad it's almost over. Perth was obviously the best actor in NLMG, he's doing a fine job here too. But the character is so unlikeable that it's hard to find anything positive about the series.

Why do villians always have to have a mustache? Why are all the bad guys either trying to sexually assault Sailom or comically chill and non-threatening? Why did Sailom start treating Kang like Kang was his dad? Does Sailom really need permission from Kang to visit his brother? Why did no one suspect Name even though he was the one who showed up days before the shooting? Did Kang get shot? And why should I still care about any of this foolishness? Someone make it make sense!

I liked Ai Long Nhai despite its flaws. It was an innocent simple series that filled the time during the week. But so far I'm loving this. Both Meen and Ping are playing very different characters and the plot is not something you see everyday in Thai BL. I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes.

The pilot trailer seemed gritty and fairly unique. Too bad they seem to have changed the show into just another simple school BL.

That was soooo sweet! 🥰 I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The ending had one the best portrayals of sex marriage in Thailand that I've seen in BL. They acknowledged that it's not legal, but still chose to express their love and plan a wonderful wedding inspite of the societal limitations. So many shows just have a proposal at the end even though neither character is ready for a serious relationship and definitely not marriage. But these two really grew together over time and over came many hardships.

I love that some networks that have more "traditional" audiences are creating BLs. An adult action lakorn that just happens to have gay leads, helps audiences who usually ignore BL, start to embrace gay romance over time and that is WONDERFUL.

For BL audiences it's lacking in the skinship department. But the show is much better than most Thai BLs that get made these days. It felt like Manner of Death + Chains of Heart + a lot of discussions about morality. Once I got past the predictable plot, campiness, the most cartoonishly evil villian possible and the actor playing Charn smiling ear to ear in literally every so scene no matter the situation, I had fun.

For me the best part were the female characters. For so long women/girls have been the worst part of many BLs. But the women in this show were AMAZING. Silvy was my favorite character in The Warp Effect and she was my favorite character in this series too. I hope we see more from her in the future!

What's a dp?

That was absolutely perfect in every single way. Perfectly terrible. If I wanted to explain everything wrong with BL these days, I could reference this because every single aspect of this was spectacularly bad.

I have no idea if this is doing well in Korea or if this has helped increase the number of fans for OnlyOneOf. I truly hope it has, otherwise this is a total failure. It feels like only their fans could enjoy this or give it a pass. Other than the guy playing Jihoon, literally no one on screen did anything that could be considered acting. They said lines that were handed to them. That's not acting. But with a "script" like this, no one could do well. I know this is based on a short webtoon that I have never read. I also know gay for pay/play is a part of kpop. But this provides no real commentary on that aspect of the industry. It just presents two characters who will inevitably end up together, spends no time/effort in showing them fall in love, has one of the most naïve/foolish lead characters I've seen who is also COMPLETELY disgusted by the idea of same sex love, detestable male and female antagonists and a manager and CEO who aren't qualified to do ANYTHING.

I hope this is the bottom. That no KBL is ever this bad again. For now, it is the KBL that I am giving my lowest rating ever to. 1.5/10. (The .5 is because the guy playing Jihoon was competent). If I hear the word evergreen again I will hit someone!

We are doomed. Nothing in Thai BL has been more consistent this year than crappy writing. Of all of the series May has written that I've seen, I haven't liked any. But I watch every GMMTV BL and I've been hoping for Fluke's career to take off for so long that I'll deal with the bad writing and depiction of vampires that causes sighs and eye rolling.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 you just broke my heart. That was the series I was most excited for next year. Oh well, thanks for letting me know so I'm not completely disappointed when it airs.

Great first episode.

She is awful. But I still have to put them on the same level. His actions were the problem, her thoughts were the problems. If he hadn't acted on her bad plan, Miko's face/body wouldn't be all over the internet. But you're right about her and it's so sad seeing yet another BL with an evil female character that most of the audience can't stand. I had hopes for this show, but this episode completely ruined that.

I agree, but I think Charlie is as bad as her. He uploaded the video without Miko's consent. Knowing that he didn't want to be filmed. And then started stalking him and filming him 24/7. His behavior is wrong and selfish.

Asia isn't the only place where gay marriage isn't legal. It's legal in less than 50 countries including Taiwan which is in Asia.
