Well, the heroine was a complete doormat but it was enjoyable to see her being courted by three different guys. I am not quite sure of her familial relationship with the guy she married - I got the feeling that she was his half-sister but - meh, it didn't stop them. What a difference five years of production values makes in a period show. Very dull compared to current period shows.
Found this subbed with quite nice subs and it was a hallelujah moment. Not really a rom-com (although parts of it are very funny!) but more about how loving and losing love changes you.
Very good story ... good consistent writing ..... not much filler (a lakorns plus) ... No Unnecessary Craziness…
I watched Ra Rerng Fai without subs - there was really only one plot point that I couldn't figure out - but it would be a good one for subbing. Noi was a great heroine - I'm wondering about her directing on the new one, too.

I just finished Ra Rerng Fai and Johnny still had a blasé expression - "I might be here for revenge - or I might be here to buy some insurance." Very strong female lead once again.
I watched this Un-subbed on YTube- really wish someone would sub it because it was a really good revenge drama. The heroine gives him some good talkings to!
The concept for this (eternal woman comparing modern romances to famous guys she'd known in the past) is really quite good - could easily be expanded to a real length drama. And the opening is perfect.
The three leads were all good - but pretty much wasted, except for Ariel Lin. The men were just paper cutout ideals of romance and business but that is what they were given to do. I hope this was a relaxing shoot for all of them! The big question I had throughout the movie was - how on earth was Ariel wearing her boss' designer clothes? Her boss (the lovely Vivian Wu) is about a foot taller and quite statuesque. Not a bad movie, not a Cinderella story, not even really a romance except in a dreamy "I want a white dress, a diamond ring and just any old guy" kind of way.
I'm just a few episodes in and I already want to yell, "Get a job, sister!" out a car window at the heroine.
AND - by the end, she is no better. From episode 1 on, everyone has been nothing but kind to her but she is still a little child emotionally. Although, as a knitter, I enjoyed seeing knitting used as a form of torture.
The link described below is correct. It's a darker, less physical but more emotional version. No subtitles but, if you know the story, it's not hard to follow. This Narin stays sassy til the end but I was never quite sure Kawee ever really repented that much.
Surprising good for such a dumb storyline. I liked that they showed Lance's ncreasingly paranoid worries as well as the regrets Huan Huan had. Yes - I could have used a little more OTP time but I think the multiple storylines helped show that Tian Zing's decision to lie affected so many other people.
I'm disappointed at how melo they've made this show - the best thing about the first version is how…
Well, I think part of the old version's charm is that it was shown on the weekends so there were more episodes and lots more characters that interacted with Da Da - same for Jae In's family. In the current one, she leads a pretty lonely life. Also, in the original show, I don't think Da Da was a pushover but she was (culturally for a drama heroine of the time) much more prone to listen to her parents/brothers/sisters than Jae-In. Unlike the modern Da Da, she had a serious romance prior and during her contract with Jae In but she decided to take a risk on the sometimes charming, sometimes risky Jae In. I imagine that a lot of that story is being compressed into the shorter number of episodes for the new version. It's still sweet but I think she deserves the familial, romantic and friend support from the earlier version of the show. Especially her parents - they were always on her side and were never tempted by his money or position. So - I guess we can disagree. I re-watch the original show quite a bit - it's worth it. And from what I've read, both versions were written by the author of the original novel that this show was based on.
I'm disappointed at how melo they've made this show - the best thing about the first version is how Da-Da was so down to earth. Why would she give up her lovely job, etc for money? Jae In really had to work at courting her in the first show and she didn't give a flying flip about his annoying relatives either.
