this is ridiculous..what is a kdrama exactly?they retain their culture. drama is telling a story and as long as…
Gees my post is not about killing consumerism... it is about its prevalent flourishing. You did not even understand that... ? Wow. And you do not even spend a minute to think why REAL kdrama is so special? Please do not bother me anymore. Why dont you block me if you dislike my posts. Othrwise i will have to block you,

There is a very interesting motif this drama chose. I am going to credit/blame scriptwriter for that. The one thing…
That is one of the reasons why this drama is a fake kdrama. The ideas are NOT kdrama ideas...
On Can This Love Be Translated? Jan 17, 2026
Ok so ppl here seem to be mostly global audience? if so, their background is watching Hollywood and Bollywood trash and utmost blind consumerism, "entertainment" that acts like alcohol or drugs, it turns the brain off and hypnotizes it into questionable standards and morals.
The world of Idiocracy 2006 movie, or Equilibrium. Perhaps even They Live LOL

This kdrama has NOTHING to do with the basic kdrama concepts.

The way it is shown kills the native Korean business and thus this drama is a form of cultural genocide.

Sure, FL is pretty and an excellent actress, and perhaps this drama will push her to the top. I also think that Hiro is a phenomenal actor and should be pushed to the top. How he portrayed a spoiled brat Japanese male was masterful. He stole the show, imo. So these actors should be pushed to the top and it is good they got paid here. (and i would take ML out of circulation he is the same face same acting in all scenes and is super boriing)

THE MAIN ISSUE IS THAT THE SCRIPT WAS TRASH... AND THE LONG TERM CONSEQUENCES OF FOREIGNERS MAKING FAKE KDRAMAS... and putting them on binge watch during weekend so that all other real kdramas have less or not audience... All that is completely completely destructive

But the underluing issues is that blind consumers do NOT think about any consequnces of passing this drama as a "kdrama". This drama has nothing to do with kdramas. The basic ideas and plot are totally not kdrama.

THIS IS A FAKE KDRAMA, and it takes away from true Korean kdramas.

The consumer habits will lead to destruction, as the audience does not have the foresight to see what is valuable and to nourish that. So this short-term "satisfaction and comfort" will lead to majorly bad consequences.

So ... farewell, the asleep complacent crowd marching into making Idiocracy 2006 movie happn for real exactly like that. It already happened and is happening LOL the posts here clearly illustrate that. Ppl are saying the drama is mediocre and giving high ratings bc FL is pretty and scenery from Canada etc is gorgeous. Wow. This is not a sightseeiing show.

perhaps we will live like in Zootopia, where asleep people have "their part of town" with drmas like this and Dynamite Kiss and such... This drama has NOTHING to do with kdrama concept. Dynamite Kiss misuses all kdrama tropes put into one drama plus MAJOR sexism and TMI lwd frequent skinship and violence.
But the problem is, since this group is a majority, it will force other dramas to be more like it to attract viewers and will ruin all other dramas.

I will let God take care of this and wake up the asleep :) It must happen, bc of karmic laws.

The trashy fake kdramas happening now are bc original korean production places were too greedy. So the backslash happened.
So there will be a backslash to this Idiocracy movement too...

Farewell, you have been warned :)

You fight dirty with false facts. I have seen one of those 1-star reviews and it praises the acting of FL and…
wow what a brute ignoramus! so this is how you conduct discussion? Sorry but you dont qualify for being called a civilized human being. Even if you lack the IQ to address the topics raised, you should never resort to personal bullying.

If you are feeling angry and powerless, take it to where it matters, and treat me politely and with respect. Oh I forgot, You are not capable nor willing to do that? I raised significant "technical" issues. DO you have the mental ability and the willingless to discuss THAT? If not, just stay silent.

IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SAY TO DISCUSS ISSUES PRESENTED, THEN STAY SILENT and definitly do not resort to personal bullying

You have not even seen what is written in those 1-star reviews and there you are spewing your uninformed biased opinion.

Perhaps? Maybe? it is time for you to use logic and take a step back with blind consumerism and kill kdramas bc you dont think what you are doing

much of audince here is NOT into logic and being informd. This group here is like zombies, never addressing what is being questioned, and just spewing subjective "likes" not based on facts. Must be mostly western audience. Unwillingnss to think is a severe handicap......

I was an university professor, Phd too, on a merit scholarship in a field that requires super high IQ ,and I am a Mensa tier and my work is used in real life.... as we type this, we are USING what my PhD is on.... .... and I am well aware of what ppl "learned" in school esp in soft fields like your cinema studies.... or if you took online degree, no names mentioned..... Modern USA education plagud with easy As, plagiarism, etc, and passing a PhD dissertation where you just need to find someone to endorse your idea and it is a more political phd than objective work, and w all know how THEORETICAL AND FAR FROM REALITY are those soft PhDs.

LACK OF LOGIC AND FACTS IN YOUR POST DEMONSTRATED THAT YOUR PHD IS JUST A PAPER. If you said you worked in industry, then it could count for having some knowledge.

So Mr/Ms PhD., what I provided is called REFERENCES, Heard about that concept?
and FYI you did not address any of the statistics and ideas I presented.

STOP WASTING MY TIME. STOP REPLYING TO ME. I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOU , YOU HAVE NOT ADDRESSED WHAT I PRESENTED, AND THERE IS NO WAY FORWARD WITH THIS DISCUSSION. And yeah, Trump supporters and teenagers tend to discuss like that.

SO CEASE AND DESIST, I WISH TO NEVER EVER AGAIN SEE A POST FROM YOU. you are entitled arrogant and ignorant and just wasting my time and I am BUSY.

I watched the video, and honestly, I think viewers are the main reason the essence of K-dramas is fading not Netflix.
Everything is moving in that direction bc Netflix and Disney are moving ppl in that direction... Ppl are blind gray masses, they move like sheep, and Netflix and other big ones are guilty of intentionally steering the sheep in directions that suit them, i.e. ppl are manipulated to be cash cows and golden geese

Ppl cannot resist heavy advertising, that is a given. Big Companies are guilty for misusing their money for manipulation.
And also, for misusing their money for killing any competition.

And ppl are guilty for paying money to be manipulated. But understand, majority of ppl have low to average IQ and no spiritual education and proper environment, so they GROW UP under these manipulative tactics and are therfore LOSt as it is diffficult if not impossible to escape this brainwashing

So ultimately, the big companies, which also back the governmnt, are responsible for NOT PROVIDING PROPER ENVIRONMENT and instead, just manipulating ppl as cash cows

If the top promoted good values, ppl would not get addicted to such trash
The Nature of Earthly life is to be in delusion and suffer and then work hard to fix it, so any REAL government WOULD promote such values.

Instead, we have governments selling drugs to raise money to keep themselves in power and keep stealing from the ppl and the land. So the populace is brainwashed into buying and being enslaved seemingly by choice. The populace is kept in check by manipulating ppl to hate each other and never work together, and by manipulating ppl into complacency by using clever bs.

As I said, most ppl lack the IQ to think for themselves, and have serious addiction to complacency and thus cannot act. The top is totally exploiting that.

Yeah this whole game would be over if consumers spent their money on stuff that matters. We could have 1 minute world revolution if all of us stop buying soda and stuff in plastic and aluminum bottles

Your argument has false logic and missed the point and is just a complacent uninformd justification for your BLIND CONSUMERISM. I really dislike these backstabbing snake slimey arguments YES BUT

1. The BUT part of your post is false. ***** All those dramas are offered online so you can watch them later any time you want. ****** There is Kocowa, Viki, Viu, etc etc etc etc and most kdramas show on Netflix and Disney channels too

2. You totally MISSED THE CORE ISSUE - WHO MAKES THE DRAMAS. I was talking about WHO MAKES KDRAMAS. Is it someone Korean in Korea, or is it Netflix and Disney using american standards to produce Hollywood shows with asian actors

3. your false info is helping to maintain the monopoly of giants like Netflix and Disney

Netlix releasing many or all episodes all at once kills Korean-produced dramas

Korean-produced Kdramas live off advertisements. So if ppl are binge watching this Netflix sht, and not watching Korean dramas, then the advertisements will not work out for Korean producers and their shows will DIE.

======= DO NOT BE A BLIND CONSUMER KILLING THE TRADITIONAL KOREAN CULTURE AND VALUES AND CURRENT KOREAN CREATIVITY AND ARTISTIC INDEPENDENCE THAT KDRAMAS ARE BASED ON ======= kdramas are censored, like anywhere, but it is the mildest and most benevolent censoring compared to what is out there. Kdramas promote good morals, family values, home cooked meals eaten with family, good education and jobs, productive lifestyle, sharing, collaborating to make oneself and the world a better place. Kdramas show ordinary ppl making themselves, their life and community BETTER.

China censors too much, and heavy oppression gives cdramas that neurotic depressed feeling. USA censors so that only brainless consumerism stuff is allowed and audience watches s.x, violence, drugs, desperation, ISOLATION, gangsters and prostitutes as main characters, etc you will NEVER EVER see there any "ordinary ppl from real life" getting together and accomplishing justice, change, etc When Chaplin's "Great Dictator" movie was made, Chaplin was exiled for many years. There are NO critiques of anything official allowed or else. Entretainers are examples of lewdness, drug and other addictions, and are famous and followed for THAT.

Korea censors to promote sexism - hope they stop that too - and censors to cut out too gory, too violent, too porn stuff that is the bread and butter of Western media.

Korean dramas are most creative, most light, warm and fun, most sophisticated plots and acting.

BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO KILL THAT AS THAT WOULD BE KILLING THE GOLDEN GOOSE. If that dies, kdramas die.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1_j6izmEX4 How Netflix ruined kdramas
This explains why most dramas these days are from webtoons and other online "books"

So this is why Disney did this, to assure rights to new stories for scrips that Disney will produce https://www.koreaherald.com/article/10652959 ( Disney finalizes tie-up with Webtoon Entertainment, takes 2% stake)

Now Disney is gonna dictate what is in the webtoons
Effectively, this is a cultural colonization of Korea and wiping out the traditional Korean culture

Sinclair to broadcast Korean TV in the USA
https://www.mk.co.kr/en/broadcasting-service/11926745
Sinclair is a super conservative American network, used for propagating all kinds of sht
So now this effectively means that this group of Americans controls Korean dramas
https://news.mydramalist.com/article/sbs-content-to-be-broadcast-over-u-s-terrestrial-television

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7QRfK6-lIg Micro drama pandemic of China
We all know what happened there - the art is down and quick frills and quick bucks are UP

Do NOT be a blind consumer.

====
On the Korean side, the producers were super greedy and caused this, bc they took too much and ran the crews too much, script writers are paid so little, etc. So now actors are motivated to defect to foreign producers like Netflix and Disney, they pay more and seems like it is guaranteed income versus income based on ads, BUT THIS IS ALL SHORT SIGHTED BEHAVIORS THAT WILL BACKFIRE TO KILL KDRAMAS

Foreigners want guaranteed income so they will hire top actors, use webtoons and online books with guaranted audience, and do Season 2-100 on a stunt that produces money. So the art and creativity are down as it is a battle to make as many $$$$$ as possible.

It is very obvious in this drama Can This Love Be Translated, as it becomes a whirwind of fast flashing scenes, like in some Hollywood sht, and there is no content and a creative plot and powerful dialogues, redemption arcs, and moving on forward, just like in some Hollywood sht

Most westerners watch asian dramas to escape Hollywood sht bc it is total sht trash. So as kdramas keep inching towards those cesspool standards, the audience will find something else to do that is creative and uplifting and productive for daily life.

Overall, this is not too bad, th plot, the ideas, acting is ok,

and it needs better filming

Why is FL talking so fast and so loud, sounding like yelling at 1.5 speed... ? She has a great tinny rasp voice perfect for her role. But when she speaks, so fast, it is ... wow annoying. Esp her stage speech, etc. She is ok when she does voice over, but totally too fast when speaking to someone

And the scenes moving fast forward... everything is sped up.
Like... when FL ran into ML... the camera did not even catch the collusion...
Why did they switch shirts... ???

Then transition from one scene to another ...
Reminds me of short verticals... It is too choppy and too fast. Whoever is on the camera and in the video putting together team has to do a better job

And the music - always so hyper, it is annoying. Make the music match the plot.

***** No need to be so neurotic fast **** THIS IS NOT A SHORT VERTICAL!!!!!

Overall, this is not too bad, just needs better filming

Finished 3 episodes. So far, it was good. Lets get to go for Lover trip.
Netlix drama Can this Love be Translated is a complete trash and has nothing to do with kdramas.
Ep 1 starts very toxic and sets the tone, then ep 2-3 look like maybe a good start, then from then on it goes into stupid mode and then into CRAZY literally crazy mode, the plot is nightmares and hallucinations etc I fast forwarded to make sure it stays like that and it DOES, to the end.

IT IS TERRIBLE TRASH

What I learned from this is to never ever again watch anything that comes from Disney or Netflix
Maybe watch 1 episode if I want to learn history or see a particular actor, like Huyn Bin in Made in Korea or IMF crisis in Typhoon family.
But only 1 episode is enough for that

I concluded that this guy is pretty much nailing the issues
