Gosh poor Twin is so **dumb** literally low iq and very high level of self pride, insecurity and immaturity. Those usually go together.
Ok,... the heroine is just an average or below-average person... ok then so she will appeal to more ppl. I get it. But it is boring to see her CONTINUE to be completely completely clueless, by choice and habit. Move it...

There is Disney drama Made in Korea airing now. It is typical disney approach - showing really bad ppl being in power and nothing can be done against the evil. Very depressing bleak, enforcing belief in evil. The only other flavor is stories of magically being saved, like cinderella. I have not seen ONE story where ppl on their own effort and collaboration get something positive done.

So this is going to go very badly and it will have significant consequence on Koreans losing their identity and freedom to create / keep their own art and culture.

I think I understand where this is going. Koreans are going to lose their FREEDOM to make Korean stories as they wish. They will be culturally overtaken and made to follow what americans pay for.

Bye bye Korean independence, culture and thinking.

I saw Japanese dramas about teenagers who want to be bullies in school and train to be a part of yakuza. It is like a recruitment tool for yakuza.
This drama is like that. A good naive guy lost faith in patriotism and evil always wins bc ppl ar inherently slimey. Very bleak dreary hopeless, true disney. And if you win it is by sheer luck and magic, like cinderella, some charming saves you magically. I hope this kind of stuff stays on the bottom of some dark drawer forever.

I dont like him. He is a douchebag. Not a mean nasty criminal one, but a slimey snowflake petty entitled spoiled brat kind of guy. Not the lowest life out there, but very immature and annoying

I hope she grows out of that asap. I am not sure how... but I am hopeful that ML actor would not be in a toxic drama and that the drama should go deeper into WARMTH - ep 3 had it :)

Clarification: I dont see it essential for their growth. They could learn to trust with a friend too. But... perhaps not as much and definitely not as fast :) I see their attraction as helpful for QUICK growth, like a plunger, a cut through bc it makes them MOTIVATED :)
They are healthy and their hanging out together in very close situation is very expectedly causing curiosity and attraction, and they checked each other out and say HEY THIS IS GOOD! I WANT IT! Sometimes ppl feel attracted and check it out and say - hey no, this is not for me. We do not get romantically involved with evry person we are attracted to LOL Often there are friends who have a crush but decide never to make a move.

Th doggy shows up in one scene to comfort ML :)

yeah this is a frilly cheesy drama and it is not very sophisticated. The humor is quite crude. BUT sometimes this drama dips into deep, like in ep 3, and then thre is a great potential.... I am kinda skimming through episodes waiting for THAT. The doggy parents scenes... .

FL is a chaebol from Seoul, she ran away from home, she is immatre and snotty. ML is a red neck good hearted country bumpkin. She loves his muscles but never saw him as a PERSON. But she will overcome I hope :) this drama so far does not seem like it will become toxic :) Keep our fingers crossed :)
I am not really watching it. Just skimming through out of curiosity bc ML actor did a great job in Perfectly Crazy so I am waiting for similar here. The doggy in ep 3 was worth it :)

I am a trained Native shaman and I can sign on the dotted line that what Head Over Heals drama promotes is super dangerous. Just forget you ever saw that drama.
As for the plot,that is dangerous and immature too. She wanted to "help" him bc she wanted him for herself. And her level of skills was inadequate. If she really wanted to help him, she should have gotten help, and she should have not tried to grab him.
Just forget that drama if you want a good life :)

If you want a good youngster rom com with "help" then My Dearest Nemesis couple is a healthy functional couple.

I am glad everyone here is having a good time.
To me this drama is too simple and cheesy, and quite shallow BUT it is good natured and has some pretty good messages overall, and that is the only thing that matters - it is not toxic. It has a good vibe overall.
Ep 3 had the cutie doggy and made me swoon over doggy parents LOL that was so heartwarming
Then ep 4 made me sad, FL is so snotty and so overlooks the ML. It made me sad to see him rejected, abused and suffering, and still trying to win her over. He is not the smartest kid on the block but it is not a reason to treat him with disdain. She needs a lesson to unsnot herself.

Well I watched ep 1-7, 14 of Judge from hell and it was mostly a waste of time, I had to fast forward through most of it, it is not a masterpiece drama in my opinion. It is a little too ... cheesy and gory. It lacks good dialogues. It is flashy catchy stuff but not so ... meaningful. It raises some good questions but the way is too bombastic and sensationalistic. Yeah, FL and ML nailed their roles, but that drama showcases the FL and the ML role does not show him off as well. I am glad he had the ML role in the Judge to push him forward but Idol I is a lot more classy drama and I wish to see more stuff like that.
Imo Idol I has a lot more real mastery it is very meaningful deep thought content, masterful dialogue. The only problem with dialogue is that she never told him. he found the red hat by chance

As for this story - there is absolutely nothing betwen attorney and client. Then La Ik fired her, so in ep 8 it was ok that he tried to kiss her and she was going to accept it. If he rehires her, they go back to the "professional" situation - until the end of the case. This script makes ML-FL like magnets to each other. If it wasnt there... would THIS story be so rich... ? Nope, imo. La Ik and Se Na both have severe issues with trust and connecting with ppl and the fastest way through that is for them to get together.

As for your desire to have no romance ... I dont get you, but ... whatever you want, make it happen!!! Make a drama like that. I am not sure why you want that. From the point of view of drama, love is more "plot rich" topic, the story can be a lot more complex.
But not necessarily so. One of my favorite ever movies in Xuan Zhang, about a monk traveling from China to India to get Buddhist texts. I love it. One of the best movies EVER. So if you want to make something like tht - go ahead!!!! Movies about causes and teachings CAN and probably SHOULD be without romance. But even then... there could be romance bc romance happens anyways anywhere..

In the human world, the strongest bond between strangers is romantic love as it puts at risk EVERYTHING that a person is / has, it leads to deepest and most varied emotions, experiences and connections, leaves you most open. most likely to show all your character flaws, and most motivated to work them out.
It is just what it is. We feel motivated by s.x and attention and willing to overcome our selfishness and willing to risk BEING SEEN as we really are. A way to Become One in every way. The MARRIAGE YOGA. You bicker during the day but at night you cuddle to each other and forgive and forget.

Being in a dedicated love relationship is the most intense and fast way to transform. You are naked, literally in every way, baring your soul, your body, your living room mess, your loud slurping, farts and bad hair days, to this complete stranger - your insecurities, desires, greed, confusion, attachments, etc etc etc ARE ALL GONNA BE ROUSED UP AND ACTIVE and you have to negotiate all that with yourself and the other. Heck that is ***work*** but it is fun work bc you also get hugs and kisses and a teddy bear on your pillow every night. Heck that is a pretty good deal :) Someone is there when you fall down and ned to get some food... The price is this INTENSE MIRRORING, you are bared to the wire in front of another and they can SEE the real you.

So you want to take all that DEEP CONNECTION out? Go ahead and see how interesting the story is. Have whatever you want, write a script like that, and make it happen, and SEE what it is all about. Film it with your cell phone as a concept, make a concept mini-drama. Let us see how good it will be. Perhaps post your draft script somewhere and then you guys who do not want rtomances can work on it together. I cannot help you.

Imo a friendship only story is effective only if it can trump a love story, so ... the only non-romantic stories that would impress me would be between a spiritual teacher and disciples . I think it would be good to have stories of friends who really significantly influenced us.
But ... love is everywhere in life and has to be in the story too...

In this case, thse two lovebirds naturally fell for each other. She fell for him from the start bc he saved her and he fell for her when she saved him. This is not a story about any two random young people off the street...
This is not a spiritual story so that just friendship is required. Even in spiritual stories there are love stories, eg I love stories of Shiva and Parvati / Sati.

Whatever you want!!!! I think love stories sell a lot better, are a lot more interesting bc there is a LOT more vulnerability and thus a LOT more twists and workings. Just-friends is not such an intense relationship with potential to mess up and potential for growth.

So yeah go ahead and make friends-only stories and see how that goes. FYI a love story is also a friendship story, bc you have to be good friends to be good companions and lovers for a long time. It is about traveling together on the journey of life... A romantic story is MOSTLY a non-romantic story and then sprinkled with some good erros. People do not spend their days in bed or flirting all day. People experience their love life while quietly sipping tea together or going for a walk or playing music etc etc etc And yeah if eros is not a part of it, it is just friendship, and it is boring :) and ppl divorce ...

WHATEVER you want. There are so many ppl on MDL who do NOT want any romance, it is astounding. So I am not sure if you guys are already all enlightened like Jesis and can hang out with the prostitute Mary Magdalene and never look her down her cleavage... ? So far he was soooo shamelessly hitting on her out of curiosity, but in ep 8 he started to get super sensitive about her personal space ..... bc he now considers her very important and precious and does not want to scare her or piss her off. La Ik fell in love and he knows it :)

The crime plot is necessary for the ML - FL trust building and a lifelong bond.

As for "childhood friends" trope - yeah, did you know that S Korea has the lowest birth rate in the world? So I think that is an attempt to prevent the Oppa tourism from taking away Oppas, and to have Koreans pair up with other Koreans. Or else they will disappear through intermarrying, like Hawaiians did ....

OK I think I understand your confusion. It is ** entirely possible ** that an inherently good person behaves as a spoiled brat, it is possible to be inherently good and have character flaws and even if you are free of any character flows, make mistakes. That is THE nature of human life on Earth. To keep fixing character flows and mistakes. Nobody, nobody in human form is perfect. Even when they are a saintly being like Jesus or Buddha Gautama.

I am not sure why you are defending La Ik and why this nitpicky argument if he is making dumb choices or being a brat - it really does not matter how we call it!!!!!

the point is, La Ik constantly misbehaved and ruined his life. He was totally wiped out exhausted. Regardless how he got there, he got there and his life was in the dumps bc of it.

The thing that you need to see is that La Ik GOT OUT of that phase. Se Na provided safe space and he took the opportunity to self reflect and change. THAT is the main point and the purpose of this drama. To see how someone who was less than exemplary took his life in his own hands and CHANGED.

"A "brat" traditionally means a badly behaved, spoiled, or annoying child" - AND LA IK USED TO FIT THAT DESCRIPTION. He was misbehaving. He was not just dumb, he acted very rude, entitled, and inconsiderate, and too impulsive. Those are all bratty behaviors. It is ENTITLEMENT to think that he can be rude and obnoxious and keep his fans, advertisers and the band.

Regardless of his background, regardless of who did wrong to him, regardless of any of that, an adult is supposed to resolve it properly, not but yelling and fist fights. For example: the advertisers pulled out, newspapers wrote bad articles, he lost fans, the yelled at fans botched his car...

Being an adult means working out the situation in a productive CONSTRUCTIVE way. Advertisers and fans want someone to adore, La Ik wants money and his music, and everyone wants to be happy and have a good time.

THE EMPHASIS ON BEING HAPPY AND HAVING A GOOD TIME, FOR EVERYONE.

If you cannot do it yourself and thus feel the need to justify his bad behaviors, it does disservice to you and to him. We should be striving to be better, not to stay the same old disfunctional.

Ater ep 8: ppl who say "there is no chemistry" are baffling me...

. Bc ML and FL have super deep chemistry and have been flirting and in love ever since he moved into her house. It is not visible sexual activity and skinship bc there was no chance for that to happen yet bc of the criminal situation, and once the coast is clear, we certainly do not need to voyeur on them.... !!!!! TMI is cheap... !

She is his lawyer and was exposed as a secret fan, so she HAS TO keep her paws off him in every way and give him wide safe space. He has been recklessly, shamelessly, without any consideration, curious and exploring her and hitting on her non stop ever since he moved into her house. She was so happy about his attention. Then he ran away and is now at the stage where he KNOWS he loves her so he is not trying to snag her anymore and treat her as a short curiosity that he can touch or look at any time he wants to.

Now he is moving into serious deep love waters... where he THINKS CAREFULLY before he even touches her and avoids it bc she is that precious, he does not want to make her run away.... That guy is fully cooked already.

She will NOT respond until she is not his lawyer, and HE makes an open and true advance.
