Ah I get it now why ppl said that this drama reminds them of The Devil Judge - bc Ji Sung was ML there too. I just learned today that he was ML in Devil Judge.
So there is that tendency to typecast actors to make the drama financially safer, if you know their one role "worked" then you just keep going. That is .. well....

FYI I watched entire Again My Life, Lawless Lawyer, now Judge Returns, and I read about Devil Judge. So in the past I wrote a long post explaining how all those 4 dramas are totally different except that they have a lawyer/judge as the ML.

typecasting is to assign (an actor or actress) repeatedly to the same type of role, as a result of the appropriateness of their appearance or previous success in such roles.

I am utterly amazed how incompetent CEO Hwa is - she cannot run a hotel... She wants to fire a chef who made her restaurant double the sales... just bc he has attitude that irks her.
What is more important - making money at the hotel, or kissing her as@ ??? CEO Hwa has her priorities like losers do, not like a business person. She is fit to run some cheap 1-star decrepid motel... She is **** completely **** unsuitable to run one nice hotel, and **** completely **** out of league to be the chairperson of the Dream group

I 100% agree with paragraph 2. I myself thought of #3 and concluded that it would be a less likely and rather unusually weird situation but possible. I disagree with #1.
Imo If he is cheating on his wife, he *IS* a bad person, period, not much different than an animal freely mating around.
Different cultures have different takes on that, there are plenty legally polygamous cultures (Africa and diaspora, Arabia, etc) and plenty cultures where having a mistress is normal (entire Asia, entire S America, France, Italy, and all catholic countries basically) so I can see why YOU could think he is not a bad person,
I come from a strictly-one-mate belief system and meandering is considered cheap, and I can totally see why.

Further research:
R-L sound is what makes the "korean accent" for native Koreans speaking english as a quick pick second language - often unable to say R in american or german or spanish style bc R sound doesnt exist in Korean at the start of a word, seems like. It is inside words, like sarang.

But there are LOTS of free and cheap Korean language classes online and the add is to help understand kdramas. I am all for it, i would love to learn some Korean so that I can understand the dramas better :) By now, I learned quite a few of the cuss words, soapy words, eat/sit down/come in/ words.... love words, appologies, and connectives like .. what, why, because, omg, etc.. LOL I could get by in a suuuuuper simple conversation :) Yeah, let's learn Korean :) and not depend on the subtitles :)

Overarching concept: the path of householder (a householder does not have to be married. Marriage yoga is a more specific path within the path of householder). Every spiritual practice expects the foundation of a "proper householder" - and to some degree even if you are a monastic LOL The idea of respnsible and dilligent living, caring in the physical world

indeed it will not bunk, as new slop kdramas are STILL a lot better than even the top hollywood, so ppl will watch, so at the end we will get something which is not as trashy as current hollywood but getting close to it. We will get a Dynamite Kiss kind of production - a lot more s.x, a lot more violence, a lot less content, AI-genrated plot with all tropes possible, and NO messages and meanings that make sense.

But it will still be more pleasant and meaningful than the current Hollywood.

HOWEVER, it will destroy Korean culture :) and cultural and business etc independence and identity.... and that is the goal :)
to make everyone a copy of the usa and to have a generic "global" culture dictated by the usa and controlled by these big companies

it is a legit expression in real spiritual teachings of yoga :) Not yoga as exercise, but yoga as a spiritual science of reaching enlightenment. The purpose of marriage is to work with your spouse on helping each other get enlightened, while maintaining the proper family life in the society (so you have to maintain all work and family obligation AND your spiritual practice, while monastic have a more lone and single-focused path in isolation - but more "spiritual success" and faster is expected of them, however, householders are NOT excused at all LOL ).

Sidedish family lacks neurons and survival INTUITION, apparently, and are quite naive, seems like they have never encountered bad guys before and they have NO CLUE what COULD be going on... .
They keep getting hints and ignoring them bc their habit is to assign the meaning instantly as if they are God.
They already know their enemy is someone powerful. they know CEO Hwa reported a banner, they know that SH reacted in fear to the lapdog of CEO Hwa, and .. they are not connecting the dots. THEY ARE VERY COMMON ORDINARY PPL, so many are like that..
In other words, they are closed to learning and that shows lack of intelligence and certain dullness.

Suk Hee showed extreme lack of intelligence when she was running away at first - she just believed the tv about her darling cheating instead of asking him, then she accepted that job, then she freely jumped into the car of the villain, etc. etc. Her smarts came only when it was too late, life and death at the end.

One small but important detail: the character name listed in the "cast" tab is Ra Ik / Laik,
Ra Ik seems like a proper Korean first name, 2 parts, no space in between.
So what is the name Laik for then... ?
I am not sure why both are valid and what the difference is with no space in Laik

for that to work. she will have to be super and genuinely enthusiastic and that is NOT easy :) if she really was against it before :)

The pairs make sense, they "fit" and Cook Sister and Lawyer are already a pair. and Rich Sister is gonna rope in Gordon Ramsey. So we are all set. The first man they met is the right man.

As for Lawyer Bro being the son, YES, bc he keeps jokingly complaining that he was adopted bc his "mom" always leaves him out and gives all good stuff just to the CheaterDad and Gordon Ramsey. Chances are he *is* the adopted son. OR it is Gordon Ramsey, bc he was on the screen just after CEO Hwa talked about her son. His coldness could be from adoption, or Baeky buubbly affection could be from adoption . But.. Gordon Ramsey is super boring character. Really. Just a tall eye candy guy, zero acting skills

That detail of CEO Hwa talking about her son and then camera going to Cook Bro was ominous... I was thinking too, yes indeed he is a possibility.

Imo we should see more of Rich Sister bc she is more interesting LOL The Cook Sister is a little too ... naive and dumb.... at this point and for a long time, until she gets really hurt by the sharks. The Sidedish family is generally quite dumb and never connects the dots bc they always already think they know it all

One lesson we learned from Cook Sister visiting CEO Hwa is to NEVER talk about your personal stuff to strangers.... Cook Sister is completely oblivious, like she has lived her whole life in some isolated bubble...

it is not possible to have a couple without some silly quarrels and getting out all their worst behaviors and character flaws - so we saw it :) La Ik was a total immature brat.
And he grew out it and they resolved it. That my dear, is called MARRIAGE YOGA and is the highest form of yoga, the most difficult way to reach enlightenment.

And their chemistry is 100% and very deep. There are other posts about it if you missed signs of it.

and everyone would LOVE to be 37 and look 27... La Ik should give some lessons to all of us... :) .

I must say I am impressed with the audience here. This drama is a deep social commentary about deep social, business and personal issues, and has significantly deep conversations and deep relationships, and yet ppl rated it 8.2. I am IMPRESSED to see that a piece of art that requires brains, thinking and deep feeling, is getting a high rating. Applause to the audience!
