Somehow I feel like romance is so not needed here. Healing and human deep friendship and connection and fight…
wow you have a penchant for boring... romance makes this super interesting and difficult tricky situation worthy of a drama. And, with two healthy young ppl, not having a romance would be WEIRD unless at least one was gay

They should stop forcing the romance , I really like this drama but there's no chemistry between the fl and ml…
I am not sure if you have the right eyeglasses on or if you need eyeglasses, bc you missed a LOT. Bc ML and FL have super deep chemistry and have been flirting and in love ever since he moved into her house. It is not visible sexual activity and skinship bc there was no chance for that to happen yet bc of the criminal situation, and once the coast is clear, we certainly do not need to voyeur on them.... !!!!! TMI is cheap... !

She is his lawyer and was exposed as a secret fan, so she HAS TO keep her paws off him in every way and give him wide safe space. He has been recklessly, shamelessly, without any consideration, curious and exploring her and hitting on her non stop ever since he moved into her house. She was so happy about his attention. Then he ran away and is now at the stage where he KNOWS he loves her so he is not trying to snag her anymore and treat her as a short curiosity that he can touch or look at any time he wants to.

Now he is moving into serious deep love waters... where he THINKS CAREFULLY before he even touches her and avoids it bc she is that precious, he does not want to make her run away.... That guy is fully cooked already.

She will NOT respond until she is not his lawyer, and HE makes an open and true advance.

yeah the immature brat La Ik grew up a little bit :) that is Se Na's positive influence on him. She never "fixed…
Honey, we need to practice tough love and self responsibility, no excuses and no self pity:
La Ik is (1) an adult and (2) a public figure and entertainer (and advertiser) who makes a living from his public image.
ADULTS DO NOT SOLVE PROBLEMS BY YELLING AND FIST FIGHTS. ONLY CHILDREN DO.
Also there are consequences in adult world:
IF LAIK MESSES UP HIS PUBLIC IMAGE, HE GOES JOBLESS. As a person, if he lets the hot anger overcome him, he is gonna burn out fast.
Therefore: He needs to grow up and handle his problems productively.
Therefore: He CANNOT lose his cool and yell at workers, fans, ppl, band members, etc. He CANNOT have fist fights with band members. He CANNOT just run out of Se Na's house and instantly fire her just bc she had some merch. He CANNOT be solving problems with alcohol and pills.

Well then you need to watch the entire drama 'The Judge From Hell", it's a masterpeice & the character…
Actually, I am impressed. I had NO IDEA about this actor and just by seeing him in 1 episode of Idol I, I already knew it was a master actor. Sharp eyes of the inspector :) Praise me :)

So After I praised acting of this unknown-to-me ML in Idol I, someone said watch Judge from Hell where he is a great ML, so.... I watched 2 episodes of Judge from Hell and it was clear that it was more makjangy. I will watch some more but I do not think it can even compare with Idol I, which starts at the first second as a super sophisticated ACTING and psychological story, much deeper and more complex than JFH. I might watch more episodes of JFH later when I have the time. That drama just does not interest me as much. It has ideas that I dont endorse.

typecasting is about same type of role, not just character - in my post, I was referring that he was a Judge and netflix says ok he was in a successful judge drama, let us put him into another judge drama - make season 2 - and that happens a lot - I am seeing lots of "season 2 and 3" dramas

TYPECAST: assign (an actor or actress) repeatedly to the same type of role, as a result of the appropriateness of their appearance or previous success in such roles.

I watched entire Again My Life and Lawless Lawyer, and Judge Returns so far, and read about Devil Judge AND A WHILE AGO I WROTE A LONG POST ABOUT HOW ALL 4 DRAMAS/ MLs ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT.
Just today I discovered that Ji Sung was ML in Devil Judge so I wrote the starting post trying to say aha judge in one series makes him easy to put into another series with a judge and that kkind of stuff happens a lot these days bc of $$, netflix etc.

Well yes La Ik was always a good guy in his heart but...
he yelled at his workers, fans, band members... did a fist fight with band members before the first solo concert ... caused so many bad news... His coping mechanism is alcohol and pills... His yelling and running away about those fan items is also impulsive and rash harsh...

So to me that makes him an impulsive spoiled arrogant brat. Still a nice guy at the core but totally immature.

Luckily he is nicely growing up on his own, after Se Na provided him a safe oasis.

LOL she has a lot of personality and flaunts it at work and hides it at home :) you need to sharpen your eyes…
Aaah I see what you mean... Se Na is a lawyer of her crush, and he is mindlessly hitting on her, so she is keeping herself under the radar and you have to hunt carefully to catch her secretly expressing liking for him LOL She is also a heavy weight professional and she speaks her mind freely, so from that, you learn a lot about her.

Se Na has lots of EXTERNAL dialogues so you can tell how she is doing.. and she subtly expresses feelings. For example, the shock suprise and suspense any time LaIk comes closer or touches her. That last scene in ep 7 where she hugs him, she is rolling her eyes and very hesitantly pats him - yet she RAN to him to comfort him. You need to increase the setting on your sens-o-meter to read Se Na :) Some things were obvious, like being ill for days after La Ik dumped her.

OK so this is how I read Se Na and find a lot o stuff to look at. She acts with eyes , facial expressions and smile. She has to keep a poker face at work, adn also with La Ik who keeps hitting on her without much thought. But you can tell she is melting any time he does something nice for her but she never ACTS on it.
So that is why she seems boring to you, bc she leaves plenty of space to La Ik and really honors his boundaries and his freedom, she is TOTALLY hands off him. Sometimes she speaks to him to present options so that he can make better choices, but she never ever meddles. She is impeccable. Why? bc that is the best way to love him now, when he is healing. GIve him space to himself so hat he can heal. She is his lawyer, so she cannot come close to him, and she was a secret fan, and did not want to scare him. She just brought him into her home and provided a safe environment for him to relax unwind and rejuvenate. And he did. The price of that is that she had to HIDE ALL HER FEELINGS FOR HIM AND ABOUT HIM, and that was good, bc I think she likes real La Ik even better than the stage LaIk. She melts every time he is nice to her. She cannot hide it totally. She just SMILES HAPPY

We see her struggles and she speaks with others about them so we do know what she thinks.

This particular drama so far was LaIk's life centered so I do hope we learn more about Se Na.

Title Idol I Spoiler
it is for sure La Ik / Se Na ship bc he already deeply loves her and she loves him too... It is just the matter…
So right now (after ep 7) she is still kinda La Ik's lawyer and a secret fan and has to stay totally poker faced bc she cannot allow him to use her. He tried, he has been hitting on her while he lived in her house in episodes before ep 7. She gave him an oasis, a safe space in her house, and he relaxed and uncurled, and became the playful lively creative himself.

So the lively alive healthy La Ik is naturally curious about Se Na his angel, and he has been hitting on her and that is like a kid hitting on an adult. He does not really mean it, he is just playing bc he is curious and he unfortunately is vain and entitled. He could significantly harm her by "promising" something he cannot keep. He could easily do one night stand or something like that and really really really hurt her...

He is not aware yet that he is falling in love for real. He needs to grow up. When he does, how long will Se Na be able to pretend she hasnt noticed him... ? So far, bc he is not serious and bc she is his lawyer, she enjoys his attention and never shows it, but you can tell by how much she is smiling that she is totally falling for him. La Ik is a nice guy and has a potential, but right now is a spoiled brat more than anything.

Luckily that death taught La Ik he cannot fool around and throw tantrums... and he ran back home. Fine. I am curious to see what he learnd and how much he changed.

Right now we have a wall breakdown scene. Se Na is holding in her arms her cute crush, totally open and vulnerable in her arms. The stray cat came back, all hurt, and Se Na is comforting him.

I am wondering though what happens after cuddling a cute stray cat and when the stray cat gets into the house, shower, clean clothes and bedtime. If the stray fully recovers and relaxes and comes back to life, it might start pouncing on Se Na and at that point, will she be able to resist?

She has to resist all his charms for now. After holding him to comfort him, the worst thing would be to pounce on him.

BUT ONE DAY, he will be healed enough and it will be ok to pounce on him. Most likely, he will keep pouncing on her, she will play dumb, until ONE DAY she responds. That day has to be when she is not his lawyer, either bc the case is over or bc another lawyer takes over.

Se Na is a very good lawyer so she does not even blink an eye when he hit on her in the past, but .... at what point .. she will forget that she is a lawyer? That is the true test of her love, bc as long as the case is on and she is his lawyer, she has to keep a very strong professional boundary.

Also it is a true test of her growth, that moment when she decides it is ok to trust someone and relax enough and have a relationship. Se Na too is a hurt stray cat, it is just hidden behind a professional facade.

ONE DAY she will have to trust herself and the other person and consent to go on a date, to have some friends and hobbies. That will be her growth, to participate in social events and human interactions.

Bith LaIk and Se Na will gain that trust as they coillaborate in solving this case.

it is for sure La Ik / Se Na ship bc he already deeply loves her and she loves him too... It is just the matter of time when he grows up enough and she melts up enough so that they can continue as a couple. Chasing the crime together builds their trust in the self and each other. It is bringing them very close. I wrote a lot about La Ik, now let us profile Se Na.

Se Na script is so well written, she is a functional adult. Flawed but remarkably strong and honest. Se Na actress is excellent too, she brings Se Na to life, makes Se Na a real person. Without her, ML actor could not shine. This drama is based on deep conversations and a deep relationship.

Se Na never "fixed" LaIk. She provided a safe space at her house and a positive, calm role model. He took the opportunity and did the inner work and became a better person. ON HIS OWN. He chose to use her as a role model. She never pushed him, never expected anything, never wanted him for herself. She talked to him and explained his choices. HE MADE THE CHOICE HE WANTED, ALWAYS. SHE ALWAYS LET HIM BE FREE. That is very remarkable and that is why their relationship is so healthy. They are two equals. They talk to each other, listen, and learn. That is super precious and will make them a couple for a lifetime.

So let us analyze the situation. Se Na has past trauma and was a piece of cement for decades. So hurt, she shut ppl out, and poured herself into work. And was an idol fan bc that was the only safe way to have an inspiring human presence in her life. She never went out much if at all socially and never even went on a date. So we are talking Se Na the nun staying home and/or working only.

LaIk was a totally immature spoled brat, very impulsive, his nervous system collapsed from stress, and his coping mechanism alcohol and pills. Those went away while living with Se Na for a while. And then he did more work on himself BC HE WANTED TO and is becoming an adult man more and more.

So I am looking forward how Se Na and La Ik will grow on their own and then together. They are both a missing piece and they are both a Big O to each other.

He is creative, spontaneous, affectionate, and forthcoming, so he woke up in her trust that there are beautiful moments in life and humans who are worthy of her time and attention and who love her and appreciate her. He made her relax and play and enjoy her life and all the small beautiful moments. He made her MOVE.

And she provided a safe space for him where he can just BE, relax, be himself, and play and be creative and have fun, and be affectionate and caring and sensitive and gentle and exploring. He is a very lively fun cat. She is the grounding and calming presence for him, a solid rock he can lean on, a grounding rod that prevents him from "flying out into the outer space."
. She is a lot more rational and quiet and "put" than him and he needs that to prevent him from burning out in hugely intense social interactions... he is more right brained but has business and logic, and she is more left brained but has creative artsy sensitive streak.

They are a great pair. Becoming two Os rolling together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Af-jZUR3ua0

I wrote a detailed analysis in the spoiler.

I'm just so in love with broken male leads, there's something so hot about a girl fixing them. FIRST, in head…
nonononono honey get out of that trap, it is deadly. Never ever ever try to fix anyone

Head over Heals is a very dangerous dark evil drama and I would suggest not using it as a measuring stick

Se Na never fixed LaIk. She just provided a safe space for him, and he did all the work himself.

I’m also really loving this whole concept of the girl “fixing” him. I honestly don’t get why people are…
She did NOT fix him LOL She just provided a safe space. It was up to him to use it any way he wanted. Luckily he used it properly for self healing and made lots of progress. SHE NEVER DID ANYTHING BUT PROVIDE THE SAFE OASIS. AND HE DID ALL THE WORK ON HIMSELF :)

Luckily he is a healthy good guy - he responds to love and care with affection, and he responds to abuse with running away. So he was ready to use this chance to heal.

Head Over Heels is a scary dark drama about a woman who meddles into the life of a very confused guy and keeps pushing him forward bc she wants him for herself.

This drama is about good boundaries and collaboration.

Yeah both dramas are about the woman helping the man, but the feel and nature of that help is very different. Se Na never expected anything of La Ik.
