Why did you bother writing this review if you didn’t watch it?
I watched ep 1-4 in total agony, it was dragging dragging dragging.... , started 5, then watched 12. As I wrote here.

AND I STAND BEHIND WHAT I WROTE
On Surely Tomorrow Jan 12, 2026
The drama ends with a confession but honestly I am not convinced that it would work - to be successful, the drama needs to show some conflicts after they get together, to "test" if FL cleanup was genuine.

We never got to see HOW FL got clean and sober. She was addicted to alcohol and sleeping pills and then magically we see her running a company in the last 2 episodes or so. For all we know, she could still be addicted, just functioning better.

ANd we certaintly got to see that she stayed the same proud oblivious person until literally 5 minutes before the end of the last episode, i.e. I DOUBT that she did the inner work to become a strong person.

So would getting together with ML be successfull???

FL actress is excellent, PSJ could have acted deep love a lot better, and the plot is trash as it focuses solely on the phase "time to rehab and fighting it tooth and claw"

Overall, I am disappointed. This is such a western drama, all strife and no movement forward, Koreans just slapped a happy ending and Western audience is so deprived of anything positive that they will consider those last 5 minutes as happy ending.

Heck no it is not a happy ending. It could be a start of yet another breakup. I am totally NOT connvinced.

i would have liked it more had they killed of one of the leads than killing off that friend to make up for their…
Bc they didnt have any idea what else to do since FL was totally completely cemented frozen and ML had enough of it and wouldnt budge until she defrosted
On Surely Tomorrow Jan 12, 2026
I am on ep 5 and it is very clear to me why this kdrama is so HEAVY - it is "slice of life" in a rehab program of a chronic addict,
The drama drags on in toxic circles bc ***** FL IS AN ADDICT **** who has no intentions to stop**** AND ML IS HER ENABLER. ******

This is actually the old sexist kdrama trope, a weak cowardly woman who keeps running away at the first whiff of discomfort, and a "loyal" man "in love" who "takes care of her" by behaving like a fatherly figure who cleans up her messes and chases her around like a paid babysitter / psychiatric help.

Luckily, Eventually, ML had enough of her messes and stopped helping her, he would not budge until she cleaned up. FL is so cemented frozen that nothing is working on her, until him leaving for over 1 yr and permanently!!!! and that death. *** FL is extremely extremely weak.

The drama is just a modern version of old kdrama sexism, a VERY SUPER WEAK COWARDLY WOMAN.

FL is a super extra weak person. At the slightest problem, she runs away to take some pills and / or get drunk. And she has NO INTENTIONS TO STOP THAT, and ML keeps chasing her to stop that, and she keeps biting him bc she has no intentions to stop. Like in Dynamite Kiss.

LUCKILY, unlike Dynamite Kiss and many other toxic sexist dramas, this ML was smart enough to say ENOUGH!!!!! unless you clean up and show effort and dedication to me, I am not yours. The mistake as usual is that he stays in love with her anyways and just waits. Never moves on...

I am on ep 5 and it is very clear to me why this kdrama is so HEAVY - it is "slice of life" in a rehab program of a chronic addict, FL. So I do not need to watch ep 5-11. I just watched ep 12 to see how they end it. Imo the drama got killed by dragging the rehab "get clean and sober" phase.

Seems like most episodes do NOT show how FL cleaned up. Seems like she eventually cleans up, but stays a proud arrogant oblivious COWARD. At the very very end, literally in the last few minutes of the last episode, FL finally makes a step forward. But it is too late - the drama is already ruined.

The drama should have shown FL doing her work a lot earlier .... and then show how they started again. Bc that has problems too. The drama ends with a confession but honestly I am not convinced that it would work - to be successful, the drama needs to show some conflicts after they get together, to "test" if FL cleanup was genuine.

So my assessment is that the drama got ruined by rehashing the pride and power struggle between an arrogant willful addict and a soft meek enabler. Yeah in real life that goes on forever too... BUT then there is "new life" after the addict cleans up, and it is as difficult. This drama just glosses over it. Which made the drama a flop.

It’s finally over, my God. This K-drama had absolutely zero hype from start to finish. I honestly didn’t understand…

They already did... For example: Actor's faces with tons of white powder, plastic surgery to make western eyes,…
kactors are held to high moral behavioral and ethical standards as cultural ambassadors
kdramas protect a culture of family, morals, ethics, clean productive happy healthy creative free "together" living

hollywood actors and generally all entertainment industry are a hotbed of addiction, lawdness and promiscuity, violence, craziness, etc and we read about it / see it every day on the front pages and tv. Like Madonna flaunting it - BRAGGING - on David Letterman talk show that she slept her way to the top and the talk show and the audience swooning after hearing it, all tickled. THAT is a popular person in the West and a typical audience reaction.
So what kind of culture and lifestyle is that? What is it promoting?

Start from there and explain how kdramas copy hollywood..... !!!!!.

PS - and keep your explanations to yourself. I do not have the time to babysit and draw the pictures for you. You gotta try to see it for yourself. Good luck.

Father's checkup in an earlier episode said he, 60 yr old man, has test results like 40 yr old
I never said the father WAS 40 yrs old. I said he was AS IF HE WERE 40 yrs old. His checkup showed he is healthy as if he were 40 yrs old. HIS PHYSICAL AGE IS 60 BUT HIS CHECKUP RESULTS ARE LIKE FOR PPL WHO ARE 40. Why cannot you get that concept?

check out the link about Netflix etc in the comments

kdramas and hollywood are totally opposite and if you cannot see it, then .... the premise of a kdrama is 100% opposite than hollywood. AND THAT IS WHY KDRAMA IS BEING DESTROYED

hollywood makes "art" about "special" ppl, like prostitutes, thugs, crazy, etc. about doing bad things and never getting out of it, it is a desolate feeling about how evil is always stronger - OR about "sheer luck" that brings you a permanent happiness without any effort

never about ordinary ppl doing ordinary lives and solving their problems by self reflection, inner work and change and growth, consideration and teamwork with others, living healthy productive life - education, jobs, justice, home made meals, family eating around the table, friends, deep love, solving problems together, etc - like kdramas

kdramas are miniature lessons in healthy living on all levels

kdramas do not waste time on fluff like long car chases, explicit s.x, and gory violence. KDRAMAS RELY ON CONTENT.

Kdramas show people talking and resolving their problems. Kdramas are creative and leave things to imagination, hint at things, have U-turn twists and surprises, etc etc etc. It is quality content.

Hollywood relies on mindless fillers of the lowest possible kind, scenes of stark porn s.x and violence, it engages the lowest parts of humans and puts ppl into a heavy and toxic mode

hollywood is about poisoning the mind with negative images and desolation and isolation ---- >>>> so that you go more shoppping, use more drugs, and think and do less and less

BY THEIR INTRINSIC NATURE, kdramas wake up and inspire and teach, kdramas include and encourage good morals, creativity, self reflection, cooperation, character growth, reasoning, thinking, solving problems, .....
and hollywood DESTROYS all of that, intentionally, using art for dumbing down

kdramas are also used as tools of manipulation, for example, for mysogony, however the evil that kdramas propagate is a lot less than what hollywood propagates

AND SO IF YOU SAY THEY ARE THE SAME, YOU ARE COMPLETELY BLIND BLIND BLIND

and precisely bc kdramas are such powerful moral teachings in a fun storytelling form, someone is trying to destroy them

Koreans also are known for getting rid of their corrupt governments. They are still creative and thinking ppl

and so the whole thing is a threat to the evil forces trying to turn entire humanity into a bunch of brainless zombies on pot and pills etc

YOU NEED TO THINK A LITTLE MORE INSTEAD OF JUST SPEWING OPINIONS IN A FLIPPANT SMART ALEK WAY
or you might be a paid troll bc what you are saying is what would lull an ordinary person into compliance, the monotone drone you spewed sounds so compelling to a person of lesser intelligence, it all sounds "politically correct" but shows total complacency
On To My Beloved Thief Jan 11, 2026
To My Beloved Thief ep3 was a nuclear bomb. A drama that started relatively fluffy suddenly turned into a new era in the making.

The ML and FL *** communicate *** and listen to each other and grow from that experience and change. It is amazing *** communication *** and team work. They are both smart and observant and quite wise - and not perfect. He is still somewhat of an arrogant rich boy and she is still somewhat an insecure powerless eolnyeo - but - she is also an independent and strong woman, a professional doctor, and he is also a very kind person and also very wise.

We the audience are kinda watching history being made, the new era of equality of genders and clear, honest communication. They both are clear about how they feel and what they think and they are able to say it to each other.

yeah he hides he is a prince and she hides she is an eolnyeo and that she is getting married to a dying old man, so it is not _totally_ open and honest communication, but whatever CAN be said, is said honestly and openly and kindly, with consideration but without sugarcoating or soaping it.

Ep 3 is a masterpiece drama

Before ep 4, i thought that the 2ML is an entitled spoiled violent immature brat, with enough conscience to warn FL but oterwise totally childish and irresponsible. He is no match for the ML, who is the adult here. After ep 4, I see there is a LOT more to be said about 2ML... he is a LOT bigger psycho jerk than I ever imagined... and with a big story too... LOL so let us see...

2FL is gonna cause trouble bc she is a naive good girl but also entitled. Now she wants ML boytoy

well then her father doesnt really care for her. He is just marrying her off to SOME dude she doesnt know and doesnt love. That is straight nasty.

If the family really has no plan B then yeah she is stranded. But she should tell her dad she is marrying grandpa. Then maybe they can think of plan B
On Idol I Jan 11, 2026
Title Idol I
Imo This drama is excellent, one more detail and it will be a classic masterpiece - ML has to learn to act vulnerability, real love and care. I suggest he take one of those fake babies for training parents and take care of it for a few days, or babysit a dog, cat, child, elderly, or soup kitchen for a few days. Once he breaks his own glass ceiling, the drama quality / richness will skyrocket. He is an excellent actor and FL actress matches as excellent too, and the script is really good for both of them so far, they are both decent adults with flaws and they communicate openly and with consideration, so this drama can really really really make a great impact.
ML is still immature and entitled and just got out of his pills and alcohol, so he gotta grow asap, and if the actor can act that out, it would be awesome

I posted this above, sorry for the repeat: I totally missed that the marriage was to keep her family living off the hosts. So she had a choice, but with heavy consequences.

Then she is really dumb not to tell her dad that she is marrying the grandpa. Bc once she becomes a widow, ecan kill her. (Think Knight's Flower). She and her dad should have thought about plan B.

**** Somehow I got an impression that her father was pushing her into it. IS that correct? ****
