Well I liked this drama for atleast showing the hard side of korean corporate culture.
I wrote God decides who "fits" ... and, the movie lacks the eros part and is not interesting to me as much. It seems done to appeal to older gentleman to feel great about themselves... and perhaps entice younger women to go along... But as I said... this is a tradition in India and also some yoga practices etc exlude s#x-for-fun so .... anything is possible and those two might be going towards enlightment :) or might have a few memorable quality years.... That dude is going to 70 and out of comission while she is in her prime... Then... I wonder what will happen .She lived 34 years without s@x and probably could live from 40 on without it too... ? but she was trying to snag him to bed in London... so... she might as well try again with someone else then... and he would have to choose to stay quiet or divorce...

>>>Your sentence about the real life dating totally interests me.....

The actor DOES have boyish charm and ability to be appeasing to people - I saw him in an interview in real life - and he certainly could snag a sugar mama or anyone he wants, he has the "personal resources" to do so - he *is* charming and polite and thus has the "personal resources" to play games - so does he use this to his advantage?... I have no idea about anything happening there, I dont follow news about celebrities, but this is interesting... As I said, worthy of a drama ....

Ah thank you, I feel the same about cdramas!!! Movie Xiang Zhang is a precious gem, imo Korea never made something that deep.... . I also saw Bond and was impressed. Although it is about just survival... they do not really have the luxury of character growth.... Stephen Chow from Hong Kong movies are all good...

So I gave up fishing in open ocean LOL I will check those then, thanks for saving fishing time :)
On A Graceful Liar Dec 11, 2025
Title A Graceful Liar Spoiler
This is a psychological thriller and everyone is some kind of thief or murderer .... Ppl are cheated or killed left and right... it is like a hell pit... Wow.. JW and HN should NEVER be together during this hell time. Even when it is over... maybe...

SH and JC ... lol We need to know more bout SH and JC. About JC we already have a solid idea - she was a bully girl by ... middle school? and stayed that way... How did she become that way? What are her current dreams and goals?

SH is interesting bc he has some good traits like ... trying to be faithful to the woman he loves .. ... but he has entitlement training ... so gives up after one wine glass..... and has some killer genes and training as a heir of K group... his father is indoctrinating him.. So... he was kept as an obedient boy but he is the heir so he is starting to get deeper into kh cesspool of criminal acts to grab $$$

So .. will SH actively JOIN the evil side as an active participant... ? or the sake of being a heir?

bc... little baby boy SH has these ideals of ah loving his woman, but as soon as his dad says - AND YOU GONNA LOSE KUYHANG GROUP!!! - our little SH shuts up immediately.

He is already entitled and spoiled and has murky morals, he slept with YC and then justified it so eloquently - it was not his fault...
So how much is going to sell his soul to be the heir? WHO IS SH REALLY???

We do not even know about HN... ok his dad was killed... but .. his dad aparently was a gambler womanizer etc ... and NS mentioned some ... child abuse... ??? so... ???? and HN was adopted ... ? so how is that playing out?? I bet it is related to clinging to JW and covering up her crimes..... What kind of "mom" was Nan Suk?..... ?? why did NS want an upright and moral young man son by her side... ???

THESE ARE ALL COMPLEX THINGS BUT THE DRAMA DOES NOT TALK ABOUT IT< WE JUST GET TO SEE THE CHESS GAME OF PPL TRYING TO OUTDO EACH OTHER, BUT WE DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHO THE PLAYERS ARE AND HOW THEY THINK AND WHAT MOTIVATES THEM. Some are just too flat one sided

I bet that Ki Bom's widow and manager Hwang are gonna ship :) She is looking the best ever after Ki Bom disappeared and the handsome HELPFUL AND QUIET hunk appeared LOL Ki Bom was so crude rude and all his good qualities of being a rather honest and upright man were just burried under his constant bitching, yelling and ordering around.

I am curious to see what will break Nak Suk. I think a guy. She is sensitive to the topic. Seems like Nan Suk went bad after bad experiences with her first cheater husband... WAS SHE IN LOVE WITH CHAIRMAN???? HR is certainly correct, NS is jealous of not being loved.... by anyone? or by the Chairman...?

Sweet Killer Chairman is beyond any redemption arc bc he is just wired wrong. He is truly a serial killer and there is nothing that can be done about that.
Nak Suk... maybe ... has some room to grow.

What a huge contrast between this drama and something like Indian 2007 Cheeni Kum which incorporates (and makes fun of people who say who follow) Gandhi principles, it is a rom com on a totally different level..

Someone must have heard us praising SJ so they took him off and put KC into the first plan nd wow was it a good move!!!!

GC ACTRESS IS ACTING THESE LAST EPISODES!!! esp ep 123 where she acts as a real mom, she is such a good actress

Lucia was finally favored by the script in the few last episodes too and got to shine in her mom scenes

My conclusion is that giving side actors more screen time is a good idea

wow i checked plots o those wood movies it is so dark... and, I dont watch horror. The only one is Haunted House, by fast fprwarding horror scenes. And Twilight Zone bc it is not too bad and lasts only 30 mins :) Oh I also tried Head Over Heels kdrama... and ... wow that was ... awful ... dangerous... scary... Koreans should refrain from such

Oh never saw those wood movies, will check them out. I love sci i :)
So Definitely check out the Twilight Zone... sci fi episodes on alien cookbook, The Martian among us, several versions o Adam and Eve and creation of men, etc etc etc They are each an independent episode ... made by a Vietnam vet...
And... movie Fifth Element. Bruce Villis in a sci fi thrilled shot by Europeans, so it actually has messages and content...

"Moscow does not believe in tears" is a great movie, it would be one of my favs, except, how he fell for her on that train is super fishy, he just met her and instantly claimed he loved her and instantly attached to her... ???? I wish they developed that. Esp since THAT is sci fi in Russia where there are 5 women on 1 mn..

DId you see Russian slapstic comedy with Shurik following a girl reading a book? That is hillarious. And meaningless :) no censor can deny it LOL I got recoms for other russian movies, like parking space issue, etc but .. never found them interesting.

I totally agree on jdramas... so very few are "alive". Jdrama Only for Married jdrama has amazing FL who is very expressive. Yudo drama was also subtle but expressive.

I watch kdrama only . I tried cdramas but they are too crude, too survival oriented, too rough. There is no humor. Cdramas are so heavy.... survival oriented.... It is just ... another planet...
Japanese are often too simple or too out of left field twisted.
Thai can be nice, I love movie The Crazy Thing Called love, Thai can have so much humor.. but it can be too lewd too.

I watch kdramas bc they are sophisticated, elegant, warm, teamwork, family, compassion, very lighthearted and sensitive but addressing serious topics. I love promoting good values like good food, good families, good liestyle and morals... minus the drinking as a form of therapy and socializing... :( Minus sexism and damsels in distress :(

I love kdrama humor. Kdramas make fun of everything and at the same time compassionately.

Very diferent than say Eastern Europe which also makes fun of everuthing, like in the Balkans, but the fun is rather ... sarcastic and hopeless.

kdramas have a knack for WARM compassionate kind of making fun of everything I lke that kdramas add humor into every genre, add rom com into every genre, add melodrama into every genre, add family, etc It is incredibly creative, all dramas are difierent, the costiming is so creative. the plots are so creative, there is wisdom in messages portrayed.

It is just very fine, the finest highest level I found so far globally.

WHen I recently discovered american movie Idiocracy from 2006, i was in awe of american ability to produce an amazing movie. It just seems to have stopped around 2006.

and kdramas are getting polluted. So I do hope they survive being genuinely Korean... And I suspect the roots of this korean wisdom are in Buddhism, it feels like that...

as I dont know anymore what is real and what is not... are we seeing real korea on the screen or some kollywood.... where everyone eats bread and ried chicken and sleeps in beds and goes catholic ... and eats Kopiko... ? Kopiko is obvious but I am afraid all those other details are just ... pollution...

Korean actors look the best, but I wish no more skinny... nuff of skinny...
I just watched ep 10 of DK and even the ML who is supposedly buff, looks like a stick from the profile... The women are like skeletons and their lower calves are in O shape and knees clunk in mini skirts..
THere are plasticized actors but there are quite few who look "normal" and those who clearly had no plastic, and they look really athletic and nice. Koreans in real life also look healthiest of most nations. THey seem to have good life habits..

I did not hang out with koreans a lot except via my acupuncturist who was a total riot :) and there are zillions of them living in Hawaii. I got to see them in NYC arond the kbbq restaurant too. They all tend to look good and be peace exuding ppl

I got to hang out and live with Indians and Chinese and I have deep respect and make a living from stuf I learned from them. Japanese too.
I started to hang out with Tibetans in their dance circles in the park.. tht is so good. I wish to make more friends from Tibet, Nepal, Himalayas etc

Well I liked this drama for atleast showing the hard side of korean corporate culture.
India has no issues with old men with younger women, and there are "yogi" practices of marriage with no physical contact but for producing kids, so.. this movie is possible in India.
The movie is cute and deep in many ways, I love Gandhi jokes ... approving marriage by defending not being vegan LOL and so on. The movie is kinda nice.
But... to me... not being from India... there is eros missing here. Maybe I am not getting enlightened soon and ML and FL are :) but I honestly do not see ML as a suitable lover for FL. He is just ... too old ... Sorry....

Interesting, you thought that Nice to Not Meet You ML was too old? But I dont think so. That one looks much younger and in shape... This one looks old... the bags under his eyes... the lips... His tummy and body in general... he was not in a gym or yoga mat...
Also, he is too old in his habits.. Behaves like a grandpa... He is too much of a smart alek, an old guy who always has to be right, always witty, always proud and tall, and a younger woman who basically kisses up up him. She stands up to him but he is "higher in rank" and even the drama is all about him. She barely shows on screen... .

So I LOVE the movie, it is very inspirational and cute and deep on so many levels, but is not ... relatable to me. I think this is a good kind of relationship or two old people :)

I dont want physical scenes ... I am not asking for that. I am just saying, thre is an element of ... something else. There is sex, eros and love, like explained here https://pathwork.org/wp-content/uploads/lectures/pdf/E044.PDF

But FL is right - a few great years with the right person is better than many years with the wrong person. Harold and Mod had an one-night stand that transformed his life.

So under God, anything and everything is possible :) So congrats to ML and FL on finding their true love.

I am watching Cheem Kumar and it is so ... endearing bc I know all those moves and nuances, sort of bc I lived with Indians so long.... The movie is incredibly funny... and also tragic... and warm... like life..
I think it would be even more interesting that he is younger :)

Interesting how India always responds. I was listening to some Shiva mantras today and then this gift of a nice Indian movie comes along. I will certainly watch it :)

I just checked it out the Kumar movie. It is not my cup of tea. She is more like his student and daughter rather than a lover. I like equals :) And I like hot romances of equally hot and active equals :) To me, scenes from Shaolin Kung Fu when he praises her making of steamed buns, or when he tells her she is beautiful, or when he promises to buy her pretty dresses later... and she, from saving his torn sneakers and reparing them, to getting facial to remove acne, geting into nicer clothes, speaking to him, then helping him as the goalie ... are amazing testimony of "equal love" from Asia. We never even see them touch but it is 100000% obvious they are deeply connected on every level.

Surprisingly, one of the best rom coms ever is Jennifer Anniston's movie Picture Perfect, where she hires a contractual financee Nick. So he they are reviewing his visit to her boss', and Nick asks her HOW MANY SPOONS OF SUGAR SHE TAKES IN HER COFFEE. She asks him why and he says he has to know that if he is going to impersonate her fiancee. At that moment, she falls in love with him. That is such a profound scene. He demonstrated he knows what love and care is.

Japanese made some elegantly fun deep rom coms japanese style, I love Yudo the Way o the Bath 2023 movie with a very powerful and subtle love story. I thinkg Perfect Days stole from that movie

I love japanese movies bc they are so japanese, such a cultural immersion , but they seldom produce good ones :) imo I like korean the best so far. Most elegant, sophisticated, compassionate, healthy, warm, comical, light ways to portray deep subjects.

I think internet took off in 2006 and I am not aware of any meaningful production after that. Ah I forgot The TWtilight Zone, the early 1960.?? black-white tv series that had sci fi, mystery, significant historical events in an alternate explanations LOL and suuuper creepy music :) It was also discontinued as too rad

White Chicks or Idiocracy are movies that just would/could not be shown in the USA today bc they would be labeled politically incorrect, and Equilibrium was pretty much shot back then bc it coincided with start o mass use of antidepressants like Prozac

I have strong connection to Inida - many friends, gurus, yoga, etc ... so I am recognizing their patriarchal theme of an older man with a younger woman :) India is super sexist. Then the caste system... so complicated and nasty. Hindu Brahmins killed buddhists and burned Nalanda monastery where Buddha was, they burned like 30,000 monks and 5 million books or something like that, something totally atrocious - bc Buddha promoted no castes and honored everyone equally, and Brahmins are the ruling caste) BUT on the other side, India has more saints per capita than anywhere else but Tibet and Nepal Himalayas area :)

I love Chinese movie Xing Zhanh, 2016, a historical thriller/action/mystery movie about a monk who went to India on foot to get Buddhist text. Stephen Chow has a fun fantasy/mystery/action/thriller movie Journey to the West that talks how the monk prepared for that journey. (Chow is a Hong Kong actor/director, famous for movies Shaolin Soccer - a fun comedy and a fantastic love story, Kung Fu hustle - a thriller/action/mystery movie and a great historical documentary on China's opium epidemics era, etc)

I would also recommend my fav american movies - Casablanca (1942), The APartment (1960s), Idiocracy (2006), Legally Blonde, WHite Chicks, Truman Show, Groundhog Day, Equilibrium (all from like 2001) and tv series Selfie Ignite, 2014 - bc it was discontinued, all 14 episodes are free on Facebook. All of these have amazing love stories :) and more. They can be watched by anyone just for fun :) I was so proud when I recently discovered Idiocracy movie. Omg americans CAN make super good movies!!!! But it all stopped in 2006, seems like. Oh I forgot one more it just slipped my mind..

From the Balkans, I recommend Black Cat White Cat by Emir Kusturica. It is also a rom com, by Roma (derogatory name for them is Gypsy) style LOL with gangsters... and honest ppl... two ongoing romances LOL and it is a family movie LOL with two grandfathers and 2 fathers and family... totally hilarious... and every detail is historiclly accurate and based on real levents.. This is the area on Bulgaria/Romania/Hungary/Serbia border so you get to see smuggling by boatd on Danube, making bootledged whiskey, shootouts, Roma style weddings and music, eetc...

From Europe, movies by Krzysztof Kieślowskim rom E Europe who lived in Paris so all movies ar in french and located around there - esp White Red Blue - great love stories. I esp love Blue

And the iconic Russian rom com movie that is watched every New Year, The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!, it is 3 hrs but it is a great wholesome rom com. My fav is when the groom-to-be Ipolit goes to take a shower with his fur coat and cap on LOL That is something very ... memorble LOL

Of anything Japanese I saw, I liked only Only for The Married, for the FL she is amazing

Have fun watching there is a lot of good stuff to see... :)

Oh your review says you watched 1 episode. It would be good to update that, and say you enjoyed it at the end. A review on the whole drama is more credible unless it was so hideous that you dropped it :) But many dramas start in really low level cesspool hell pit LOL and then make a U turn...

You addressed the slavery part so well.
My review addressed the underlying patriarchy, where his wife supports th patriarchy and this rat race indirectly, by helping to make Mr. Kim a perfect rat.

You did not watch the entire drama, but at the end, all three are self employed and have a great family relationship. It is truly a new beginning

Oh yes I just wrote you somewhere else - the drama showed Mr. Kim transforming and succeeding. I wished for 1-2 more episodes with the epilogue. Mr. Ms and baby Kim all had brand new beginnings as free people and a great team. I gave this drama 10 stars

Review Heo's Diner
I love this drama and I reviewed it in the same way, I also think this drama is a gem and could have been a 10 drama, but the script killed it with a gullible insecure sarcastic dumb FL. Too bad. This is one of my fav dramas based on its potential. Most of my reviews are under my old MilicaB user, then I had to open this account to use a different email bc the amount of email that MDL sends clogs the email.

I am here looking for your review of Spirit Fingers, if you ever made one. I am not able to find it. I never knew you had so many reviews until you mentioned your review of DK and provided link to it.

FYI I think Nice to Not Meet You ML started awful but toned down as the audience complained LOL And Mr Kim from Dream Life has transformed quite a bit and is not a rat beleiving in the rat race anymore :) The ending is a great new beginning for Mr. Ms and baby Kim. I wished for 1-2 more episodes as a follow up.

I LOVE this review. So well said. So accurate. Imo you captured the essence of the drama - the story of a trashed voluntary slave.

The drama is again a fantasy that some really weak insecure woman magically attracts some amazing man who is her sugar daddy and totally devoted to her... and takes care of her, for the rest of his life, regardless of how shi##y she is. THAT IS THE PLOT OF MOST KDRAMAS. In adult versions, ML is often cold and cruel too, and woman is poor and powerless, and he somehow controls her financially and otherwise.

***** It is very stale at this point. It is the plot for long gone past - not year 2025. *****

This drama is a milder version of it... This drama is more easy to watch and unique, fun and cute bc ML is super fun, kind, bubbly person. Yes he is vain and immature but he is very open, communicative, straightforward, rambuctious, fun loving and just FUN, and he is filmed so well - scenes with him in his pink sleeping bag, dancing on the stairs when they first met in the restroom, etc it is all great comedy... Bc of him, the drama is so fun and charming, and special and unique.

And I really enjoy that actor, he CAN act and in this drama he acts..... I saw him in a recent college drama where the script killed him, the script was so boring and made him a passive quiet poker face slimey SML. What a waste of his acting talents.

FL is nothing special, as usual. The role is boring and flat, the acting thus has to be limited, and the plot generated by FL stupid actions is STUPID. In this drama, ML saved the day with his cheerful bubbliness and upfront mischief and huuuuge efforts. From what I can see, ML did all the work in their relationship.

SO IT IS TIRING TO WATCH A WOMAN WHO KEEPS KILLING THE RELATIONSHIP AND THE MAN WHO KEEPS TRYING, esp since that kind of scenario does NOT happen in real life often.... so the drama is kollywood, feeding some airhead fantasy to the audience.
