So our shy nerdy ML has that racy side to him... Adventuresome, exotic, wild, crazy,. glam, ..... and that part makes up for his age difference with FL. Bc she lacks that glam playful party side.

And that side of him is the other side of the bumbling shy nerdy side and the prickly whiney spoiled diva side that we saw so far... and got fooled with LOL LOL LOL

So ... I suspect this means vacations in Hawaii on the beach, not with mai tais but with flower shirts and watching hula and going on boat rides, snorkeling, and surf lessons... and romantic evenings by the moonlights... and such things.

Lots of explorations and fun and a super romantic and fun relationship between ML and FL

If you dropped the this drama, perhaps you did not watch .... . ML was a controling psycho at the start, then used her, then played with her bc she kisses hot and he wanted to bag her, then was sad when she ghosted, ... then ... later.... angry when he discovered she was married... then... SHE IS AH SO CARING AND NICE.... and ML got to develop some feelings for her, and that combined with his controlling entitled nature, turned him into a BULL IN MATING SEASON, all hormones no brains.... I have seen till ep 9 and that is the situation

ML is genuinely in love after ep....?. I forget which. At first, he was just a controlling cold predator, got interested in her kiss, and he started bagging her... but then .... she disappeared and he realized HE WANTS HER BC SHE KISSED HIM HOT .. and he did not get to finish eating his pray. So he genuinely gets mad bc he wants to finish eating his pray and then gets sad bc it did not happen... and his pray is right there in front of his nose.... and this feeling of infatuation even becomes some kind of caring feeling and then a more genuine love feeling.

As they say, the path to men's heart is food LOL or ... s@x.... or ... god forbid, character LOL on top of other things

So anyways, he did show genuine care towards her but it was always bc she was yummy and he was curious JUST BC OF THAT.

SO ML turns out to be a bull in mating season, all hormones and no brains.

The iceberg itself is enslavement and exploitation of women that went on for thousands of years. FL and ML in that drama are symbols of that era and that thinking.

The Asian flavor of it is a chaste damsel in distress.. Western version is a Barbie Doll s@x toy damsel in distress.. So Western media always uses and abuses filling the movies and series with explicit s#x... This drama has too many s@xual scenes - kissing or trying to, and some bed scenes that are TMI imo. This cheap stuff sells...

This drama imo combines the worst of asian version of patriarchy and Western media cesspool...

Patriarchy ruled the earth for thousands of years and basically enslaved women, 50% of population, into being slaves, working for free stuck inside home, without any money and power to control the resources. This is done so that 50% of population (males) has control of 100% of resources. THE BASIS OF JUSTIFYING THIS IS THAT A WOMAN IS TOO DUMB AND WEAK AND POWERLESS AND EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE TO EVEN SURVIVE.

Early humans were matriarchal societies, apparently, so this patriarchy started somehow... I am sure this started somehow relted bc a man has 7 times more muscle power than a woman of the same size....
indeed a man fights better with lions and indeed can haul a deer home and build a house fast... and indeed can fight intruders and indeed can provide some good s@x... so probably some horny woman let her darling take over the bed and then out of complacency let him "take care of it all for her" ... or maybe some strong guys defended their clans and thus became leaders....

and then the guys took over and matriarchy was GONE. Women became slaves. Glorified slaves LOL Glorified domestic animals... praised for producing children (aka more soldiers, work labor, and connections and influence) and for working non-stop to maintain males who just show up to rule and enjoy the privileges

IN THE PATRIARCHAL WORLD, A WOMAN IS INDEED OFFICIALLY POWERLESS... SHE IS PROPERTY OF HER FATHER AND THEN HUSBAND.... AND SURVIVES ONLY IF A MAN IS HER FRONT.

AND WOMEN RESORT TO CUNNING AND S#X TO GET WHAT THEY WANT AND NEED. bc that is the only path available. And men are thus afraid of women... and there is a huge distrust on both sides... And women fight other women in this never-ending fight to find the male who will be THE BEST ONE to protect them...

So basically we are talking animal behavior, just more complex.

But it is actually a LOT more worse bc... both men and women are manipulated and exploited. Men are taught to be cruel and heartless and emotionless bc... they too are used as pions... they are the soldiers and henchman of the elites... they are the dogs that work for the elites... without blinking an eye, they destroy and die ... at war or corporate desk.... they are bland, empty WORKER / SOLDIER ROBOTS .... ...

and women are slaves who act and do all the care, kindness and nurturing, and restore and maintain these robots... Women are slaves who act as psychiatric nurses, who do all the work producing, raising and maintatining robots, who do all the daily care, feeding, chores, that is necessary to produce and grow new robots and support and maintain the operating robots.

IT IS LIKE A FARM, OWNED AND RUN BY SOME EVIL PPL who make sure that all the robots and slaves never communicate and always distrust and harass and cheat each other, trying to rise to the top levels of robots and slaves... never letting each other escape, always dragging each other down back into the hell...

Basically, someone owns a tank of crabs, uses them as food, and fuels their instinct to drag each other down into the cauldron

And meanwhile, someone on the top pulls all the strings and abuses this army of animals they roped in to work on their behalf, That someone on the top is wealthy and privileged and manipulates the masses - since these robots and slaves are totally easy to manipulate. DK audience comments demonstrated that soooo well...

And DK is all about that. It hits all those key point of patriarchy,
As you said, ML is controlling, cruel, rich, entitled, etc totally devoid of feeling
and FL is irrational, dumb, spaced out, powerless, loser, emotional, etc AND SHE SOFTENS THE HEART OF THAT MAN AND THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

That is the dream, the illusion of all slaves and robots stuck in this hierarchy All those loser women fantasize they can stay a flawed character and get a super sugar daddy to take care of them and adore them no matter how immature and flawed they are,

and all robots fantasize how they will get a stupid but sexy and kind slave who will take care of them and provide fun - s#x, attention, care, etc that will recharge them and keep them going

STUPID MEN LIKE DUMB WOMEN. THEY ARE EASY TO CONTROL

DK plays on all these tropes and that's why I called it 1950s but it is really... 1200s attitudes LOL

To me, reading the comments on DK and interacting there was a life education that is priceless. I finally concluded that the common denominator of all ppl who liked that drama is just ... lack of intelligence, weakness, certain self pity and false pride, and entitlement, if I have to put one word labels on it.

For example.... The fans truly do not understand the concept of personal growth. They think if someone is "good and kind person" there is no room for more improvement, and if such a person decided to lie "out of need", it is acceptable. That audience is suuuuper good in concocting illogical excuses, which they consider "facts"..... I have not seen a trace of objectivity in fans of that drama... ....

My pet peeve is Dynamite Kiss drama. It is going backwards to 1950s plot of stupid kind and sexy damsel in distress saved by a strong, loving, loyal, rich cruel man who turns all soft bc of her. Then she keeps doing stupid things and he keeps saving her. In DK, she trips/falls or drowns or gets cut or somehow injured LITERALLY several times per episode, and he is always there to save her. This kind o plot is prevalent in many kdramas and it is 10000 % sexism.
THE AUDIENCE ON MDL PAGE FOR DK LOVES IT. They totally defend FL and feel sorry for ML. The amount of blindly illogical comments I saw there is astounding.
I think it helps bc DK is full of sexual scenes, they kiss or try to at least once per episode, and there are explicit bed scenes, so all of that portrays ... well... very cheap script and going in th direction o Hollywood cesspool... s@x and violence. So it is the worst of kdramas combined with the worst of the West.

Graceful Liar at least started with FL with brains and ability and willingness to ACT and that shattered the stereotype advertised by too many kdramas.
Still FL is IMMATURE but at least not as before
And ML is not this Superman super moral and super perfect type who saves FL every two seconds

Well, I think you went off here being blindsided and subjective.

First, he was acting out of his DESIRE for FL. THat is a force that leads to all kinds o STUPID STUPID STUPID actions. Please do not underestimate it. I do not know how old you are, but adults can be totally blindsided with desire and do really bad stuff... It is actually quite common...

All adults are like kids on a playground... you see a toy you want and you go grab it and push other kids... In adult world, the toy is ... money, power, people, attention, prestige, etc etc etc ...

So HN is just grabbing this toy called JW.... that's all.

Second, his sister is a villain. She is really nasty, entitled jerk. She is made that way by their mother and HN never put much effort to help her grow. Understand his position, she is not really his sister and her mother is protective of her., and also, he does not want to interfere in mother's plans. He cannot intervene much. He tried some... Yeah sure he could have done some more :) But it is tricky. And NOT convenient and not easy...

I would add that she acted on her own GREED and deluded herself that she is doing revenge. And imo she was NOT successful. Yesh she got some pretty clothes and some money to spend, but she was so anxious and always taking some pills... She was a wreck, could not even sleep

I will change "all" to "many" as this is truly a common thing - to do something unethical to move on forward. Men do that bc it is expected in the patriarchal system, so I will not comment on it now, but women SHOULD NOT do that bc they are trying to change the system, and they still do it...

Women do that because they feel powerless and cornered. From small things like being mean to other women, to big things like kicking other women to get ahead, all the way to say using flirting and even seduction to get their way. Also, I clarify - I referred to Ha Neul as the ML :) I was shocked to find that SH is supposed to be ML. SH is not on screen so much, and it is pretty much flat and very ... simple character... and quite boring charcter and acting. We do not know anything about him!!! he is more like a supporting character

I think HN story is way beyond cheap... it is TOXIC AND DESTRUCTIVE...
NL story is a very toxic plot and toxic relationship with FL... He dragged himself down into her mud...
It is like falling in love with an addict and enabling them... HN enables wrongdoings of FL and it leads into tragic outcomes..... for so many ppl. HN betrayed his best friend, enabled killing of FL's father, etc etc etc

Dramas usually have plot from "current" time bc the actor has to look the same, but it would be fun to have time lapses but not too ar so that actors can camoulage with some costuming and makeup. It would be soooo fun to see how they change, like the Tangerine drama :) It would be so cool in a drama like Mr. Kim where changes in the family are totally drastic and we have dad, mom AND son starting anew, 100% new.

Blunt Sister is so blunt with other people's stuff... but soooo immature and childish in her own life... That guy is her babysitter... more than a lover...

I thought that Ye Na issue was resolved too easily and too "nicely", I was expecting her to kick again... And I am glad we have the realistic ending ..

So now.. NY has to fight for her job.. and maybe start something new... and have a rekindling with her hubby...
Dolls ppl have to work it out that's gonna be a mess ...
And Il Ri has to grow up omg.
So yeah this drama is rolling along just fine.

Ppl say the drama should be finished now - common - just ending ONE issue is not the end... In fact,t his drama can go on forever... but it will stop at the point where all 3 ladies reach a new, higher level

PS - So funny here we are are I have a feeling this is a group of adult women Meanwhile, a whole bunch of kids like 10000 of them is watching Dynamite Kiss which is rather soapy soap 1950s -like drama, quite trashy and also has lots of kissing and TMI scenes and is sooo ... well.. ... not it. .

Watching a drama like this with real actors and real acting and real plot is very ... amazing.

Yeah. To make it clear, I was not approving what I see in the USA, younger women jumping on someone else's man, a guy who is taken or wanting to be taken. I also think it is pathetic. I was just saying it is very TYPICAL there and you have to count on it :) There are more women than men, and men are super spoiled, so a chick like that keeps trying to compete against others...

2FL is not a bad person and she is jumping on a single man, so she is not as bad as others... It is love, so we cannot stop her from trying, she has to learn the hard way that if a guy says no, you WALK AWAY.

I found this out the hard way LOL when chicks went after someone who was hitting on me. They could care less that he was hitting on me, they hit on him hard, trying to get his attention. Furthermore, they tried to "kill and cancel" me, thinking that if they remove me, he will like them. THat is how stupid chicks think. After studying them for a while, I realized they lack brains, have high hormones, and high greed, and are actually mean people. And ... sleep around like crazy, they were tryng to bag the guy. Well if there smoke there must be fire, who knows what they do... I never found out bc I ran out of there, fast.

ML definitely has integrity and good intentions after all. although he has a mean controlling streak. He is "growing up" to be a very nice guy.
And FL has potential, once she grows up some more. FL is a good kind person but she is too weak, so she indirectly acts as a villain at this point. The whole point of this drama is to show her grow up, as well as ML, 2ML, and 2FL

It is ok, each person has their likes and dislikes.
I usually ask myself WHY I like something or not, how it is impacting me, and how it makes me feel, and WHY, and what kind of messages I am getting from what I am watching. Yeah I am a drama nerd. And I loooove good stories and comedy.
This drama looks so innocently funny, maybe, but it is really 1950s woman-man situation they are advertising here and a lot more. I am saying 1950s but I would like to say 1200s LOL

This drama is like a bottle of alcohol, you watch it to turn the brain off and forget reality, and to fantasize about various delusions, like loser dumb liar woman always saved by a smart rich handsome dedicated hot guy. Wow. Hollywood specializes in selling this. They just sell it with a LOT more s@x and viiolence. So ppl watch Kollywood, which at least has SOME content...
