I had no idea who she was before I started watching this drama...

I see that Im Ji Yeon is one fantastic actress. She *does* act-as-if-real complex characters. I am totally 100% in total awe impressed.
She is a cameleon and in every role I saw her, was a totally totally 100% *THAT* character.
Imo a cliche brainless rom com would be too stupid boring for her.

I saw her in Glory, where she was an absolutely perfect villain. I watched *her* in that drama with horror and amazement, she was so real!!!! The only scene I remember from that drama is whan Villain Im Ji Yeon refuses to apologize and tells FL to bug off. That was evil shown in bare form.
In that drama, FL and ML were so bland and so bologney acting. The villains were interesting and acted well... . I remember only Im Ji Yeon scenes....
Then in this drama, Im Ji Yeon is very real as the quirky reporter. I do not see the acting, I see the reporter. I could never tell it is the same person from Glory. She *is* the reporter. The body language, facial expressions, how she walks, how she talks, everything... !!!

I am 100% impressed with her acting skillZ.

As for Ms. Wi, I personally am impressed with her professional skills and her insistence to expose corruption and crime. I certainly have respect for her. I even like her. Although I am aware of her flaws. So I am rooting for her. Ms Wi is VERY SMART and has integrity and is a good person. Ms. Wi is really a type of Robin Hood, or Superman in female form. (I have no clue about those characters, I am only aware of Superman lol)

To my horror, the comments from the audience expose that the audience is still stuck somewhere in the 1950s and thinks of women as stupid and sexy clutzes. Dynamite Kiss totally exploits that stereotype THAT IS SO DEEPLY INGRAINED, IT IS DISGUSTING.

I concluded that the audience is shreding Ms. Wi as not a "likeable" character bc she does not fit the stereotypical "easy pray" "easy to manipulate" stupid and sexual chick.

So really when will ppl stop thinking of women that way.... ?

Then their team needs to do well and ... what happens after 6 monthswith their jobs?

Question: WHAT DO YOU EXPECT OF THEM?? PERFECTION??? The drama is about two flawed people who are competent in their jobs and lives and ok with people close to them and their family members; and quite incompetent in their social and love life.
ML and FL have no ... hidden kids, hidden side lovers, hidden addictions, no cheating, lying, stealing, etc... just lots of clueless nerdiness, some false pride, and in his case being a snowflake spoiled diva. And very limited experience dating. They are kinda normal ordinary ppl on the nerdy side. But their professional success makes them "a little special." ML has that public eye contrstaint, and FL is a big deal reporter from war zone and to her, gossip column is bologney for kids.

And they do not have to be super stars to be competent proessionals!!!! Someone said Ms. Wi is not a competent reporter. Wow really... ? It is terrifying how ppl ganged up on FL

I think I have the answer and it is not going to be very pretty. FL in Dynamite Kiss does lots of kissing and jumping into bed. THAT is her only "charm" and that is why the audience eats that cheesy old fashioned "stupid damsel in distress FL and savior sugar daddy ML" drama without any issues.... I feel like it is 1950s.

I share the same concern as you. She is too tiny and frail. Missing one molecule is going to reduce her body weight by 25% LOL But in general... a liver transplant is not a joke and can have severe consequences for life. For anyone.

Donating might be in sync with her character as she was before. She should be a lot wiser now. Her bro did not show up for 30 yrs and then showed up needing a liver. Sure buddy. Let Ms. Ko donate or buy it for you.

First the drama was so boring. EH is flat and lifeless boring, JH was a dick, Dad is too flat, and we saw mostly them. Luckily JH became more human fast enough but still... that was insufficient to liven the drama. There was too much time on JH close ups being tortured by his hormones. The drama was just ... stuck.
There was always ZERO chemistry between EH and JH bc EH actress was just ... blah. JH actor tried but he is helpless when his pair is just unresponsive.
EH actress was so ... not interested in JH even when EH loved him.

SJ and EH interactions were some of the most boring scenes I have ever seen in my life. It is not fault of SJ actor but of EH actor. She dampens every scene she is in. She is somehow NOT in the scene. I dont know how to describe it but I will try. Probably there is ONE technical term that conveys this LOL. EH actress is floating somewhere in the space doing her own thing, doing her job as motions for money, and not thinking of us the audience watching her character live. That actress has no connection to the audience. She does not give anything to the audience. She seems to be doing her own thing and going through the motions so that she can get a paycheck and clock out, and could care less we are watching. She does not seem alive. She seems half asleep in all her scenes - except Woo Jin... )

In the beginning, we got to see mostly boring EH, annoying than overdone JH, stiff Dad, and did not see the side actors much. But we said that they are cute so we got to see them a little more.

The youngsters stole the show every time they showed up for a few seconds. The Driver-Mama Girl pair is so cute. He is so alive and vibrant and their interaction was so cute.

Then Su Bin actress stole the show when her character started "growing up." SB is a strong person and SB actress has PRESENCE and VIBRANCY, she is ALIVE and that actress really brought SB to life.... her presence "woke up" the asleep SJ, so now as a pair, they are really fun to watch. So we got to see them a little bit more...

Then Moma Girl character "woke up" and became more independent, and the actress is actually very skilled in portraying that, so the drama lit up a lot. That actress is super talented. She showed a wide range - someone lost in space wall flower to a very vibrant and playful woman who can stand up for herself and even be cunning and nasty. She showed weak and strong. She acted all that range so well, it feels real. So I think we have a next rising star there.

Then Dir Ko took over. That character is a nasty villain but the actress is very skilled, she commands presence, so she livened up the drama. And her daughter opposing her also really helped the plot.

At this point, SB-SJ, Driver-MomaGirl, and DirKo took over and the drama was rolling!!!! (The only thing I disliked is EH donating her liver to this stranger who showed up after 30 yrs. But that's not important to what I am talking about now). I am talking about:

THE SIDE CHARACTERS TOOK OVER AND THE DRAMA GOT BETTER.

And then Woo Jin showed up. The actor acts well, and really pulls you into his "sadness" and "dying" and also, for the first time ever, FL actress is showing signs of life and is a little more animated bc she LIKES Woo Jin.
Ep 9 is the second time ever I saw her with some emotion on her face. First time when in ep... 7 or 8? when she was snidely rejecting Dir Ko, and ep 9 when she just flutters all over Woo Jin, who really, IS cute and laying in bed all helpless ... wow... Yeah what a chance to be happy... Sure EH is supposed to be happy for her lon-lost brother... but how come she was never happy around JH, even when she "loved" him... ?

That is when I noticed that the drama took off. andI connected the dots. FL had so much screen time before and she was not really acting, so the drama was super boring. Then . FL was not as much on the screen as the side characters took over, and when she showed up. she acted her emotions.

Bingo. Take her off and bring her in in small dosages and only with a guy the actress likes .

Then the Model Grandma took over with her modeling and also the scene with her son. SHE IS SUPER SKILLED. Just a few scenes with her alone or in a close up pair, was WOW acting, she commands presence, she pulls you in she makes it real. I am remembering her!

Seeing Grandma in close-up made me reealize - OMG one good actor on the screen and it is super engaging.

AND THEN IT DAWNED ON ME -
the whole drama was boring so far bc it relied on FL who imo is completey incompetent. SHE IS BORING. She cannont act. She is just BLAND. Always the same. Somehow "distant" and it is just not fun to watch.

The FL character is interesting, I am interested to know and see more of EH, but the actress just does NOT bring EH to life.
Someone said this actress got awards for her acting? How? Why? I saw her in DNA drama she was totally lousy and the same bland acting as here. She has no facial expressions or body language. She is just flat, flat. flat.

Bc JH did not inspire her at all. Even when she "loved him" and even when asked him out. It felt like she was around a nasty boss applying for a job she hated.
SJ did not inspire her. JH and EH have ZERO chemistry. She does not like him, period.

So no matter what JH actor does, it is not going to work, since EH actress is dead weight.

The drama made a mistake and gave most screen time to JH and EH and that was a total disaster.

Now the drama is finally rolling.

I want to see the other actors bc I am really enjoying watching them.
So I should stay with them even though the drama script is stupid, giving WJ the liver.
Everyone who wanted EH to donate the liver to this stranger was ah sooo generous donating EH's liver... but would they donate THEIRS if a stranger showed up after 30 yrs to ask for it.

So I might stay and watch to the end, and just ff through dead scenes with EH.

Anyways, FL actress cannot act, and Dad actor and somewhat the Mom are not really great. JH actor is ok but on his own, he cannot do anything.
BUT FL AND ML HAD MOST OF SCREEN TIME.... AND FL ACTING IS BORING. Wow what a mistake.

In last ep, I finally feel like I am watching a drama. There is life and characters seem real.

SO the key to that was kicking FL into the background and giving her WJ cute dude to entertain her
and bringing all the side characters up and front and giving them screen time.

I think the side characters took FL job, for sure. I will skip any drama with that FL actress.

By the middle of ep 9, scenes of JH concerned about EH going to surgery and Driver/MomaGrirl going to hospital, I felt like I was standing in a lively and well lit up place, like someone turned on the lights in the dark room. The drama lit up finally

So it struck me that the drama improved a lot since side characters took over. Finally the drama feels like it is rolling and it is fun to watch. It became ALIVE.

Until a few episodes ago, it was so lukewarm boring bland to watch, to be honest. I finally connected the dots - it was FL actress who is so bland and boring to watch, and she had most screen time. JH actor cannot save the game when his acting partner is not responding.

I noticed that the drama improved A LOT when Dir Ko started showing up more and when her daughter started fighting her.

AND "INNER PRESENCE" OF THE ACTOR WHO IS GENUINELY **IN** THAT CHARACTER

A scene like YR ducking from her mom at the hospital and pulling Driver with her is THE scene I remember!!! why? Bc she was so alive and present! the scene looked real.

I have done improv comedy so I know a tiny bit about acting, but I am not educated enough to precisely "diagnose" what I am seeing, so please bear with me.

So I wanted to figure out WHY the drama is so much more watchable now, and so I backtracked:
