I love comedy so I watched a LOT of Kay and Peele - my fav is the two of them as church ladies in church talking cursing the devil LOL But I dont like Peele's movies. I find it weird. Some of Kay and Peele comedy skits are weird too.
I LOVE the Twilight Zone :) I think I watched all of them :) Omg they are funny :) and true :)
I checked out the top 10 non-english shows on Netflix and it is horrifying what is there. Truly horiffying Typhon Family is I would say about the only show with some substance and acting and it is somewhere in the middle of the list; and Bon Apettit your Majesty is fun and fluffy and has great acting by ML and somewhat FL so it is worth watching just to see him, and that show is #10.
But the rest of the shows on that top 10 list !!!! are ... wow I would say mostly meaningless trash. Genie Make a Wish had 2 mil views. It is total hodge podge of fast one-sentence 'witty" conversations and fast flying scenery and movement and action. Looks totally dizzying. Trash acting. Looks totally holywood but with asian actors. Gives you a headache to watch that whirwind, the vibe of the Energizer Bunny on steroids, frantic manic activity non-stop
So being ranked high on Netflix imo is a monetary compliment, for sure but not necessarily an artistic compliment but more of something to be worried about, if you care for quality LOL ... Seems like Korean audience is more sophisticated, to be honest, and I would rely more on their ratings to discern quality before watching.
From my research, I learned that a show listed on top 10 of Netflix is a red flag that it might be best to skip that show.
Typhon family is not bad, it's high rating on Netflix seems to be more of an exception than a rule

All usa but the San Fran, LA, and NYC is "small town" conservative... ANd even those big cities are!!!! In LA, I was looked down when I wore shorts, it was too indecent... people kept asking me if I was going to the beach... I was in Patagonia Baggies shorts, which is not small or indecent by any means.... And no, I was not in a business situation, this was in the "private time" during day! In NYC too, even in subway full of so-called "lower status people" people looked down on me wearing a shorts, in the middle of the day, in super hot july ... I am not fat or ugly either They were looking down on me JUST bc it was shorts and they think it is indecent

In Denver airport, I was wearing a bubblegun pink t-shirt and leopard wide baggy pants I got in LA (where they are sold as "lounge around the house pants) and the polcie asked me if I have drugs - JUST based on my clothes. I was coming back from a dance conference and that was the only clothes I had clean - and also, it was fun to wear that and I was going back to LA or something like that. I have never drunk or used drugs in my entire life and I clearly did not look drugged in any way. And I loved that accidentally-created outfit. It was super cool. I wore it again in California :)
To give credit to the Bay Area - when I wore that outfit in Berkley, ppl thought I was SUPER COOL :)
