EH eating very little, having very little muscle strength, having very little fat on her, her hormonal system is not working the best. She is going to be on the quiet subdued side, not tending to involve herself in heavy physical draining exausting ENERGY SPENDING activity like ... having sex.

it is biological. If she doesnt have enough fat in her, her hormones dont work. If she is too skinny, her body is not ready to mate.

As far as her body is concerned, EH is experiencing FAMINE, so energy must be conserved.

OK, I get what you are saying. I just never saw those signs that he saw her as a woman. A guy in love tries to come close as much as he can. JP was sitting on his fat butt, the most he did is carry her bag with a poker face. That's NOT a guy who sees YR as a woman he wants.

I was on a bus today and watching two teenagers walking, and the dude talking to her, trying to get to her face, trying EVERYTHING he could to get her attention LOL that's a guy in love or a guy hunting, whatever, but JP was never like that to YR, only to JH

I get it that his armor is falling off and he now genuinely sees more of himself.

Yes he changed as you said. He wasnt willing to risk and be vulnerable, so he solved it by controlling his feelings and eventually totally blocking them LOL EH was his personal ... servant? doormat? bae? .... how to call it... his little oasis? where he strutted like an entitled prince... taking her for granted...
But then... karma kicked his as@ real fast with that wedding and that made some cracks in his armor... crack ... crack ... crack... the armor is falling off....

It still hasnt fallen of but is in the process, he is at least feeling and self reflective to some degree, and it keeps increasing, and he is actually even honest a lot more .

EH was always self reflective and that is one of her greatest strengths

Chairman was the manager of the factory owned by the mother of the evil siblings.

and then he found his biological daughter from before somehow... that was not explained... but then the stepkids killed her

I am not sure how the mom died like super fast after they got married...

so Chairman inherited everything :) and stepkids nothing LOL so they keep trying to get "what was their mom's" i.e. to steal it from Chairman

Oh, you want a thriller like ... The Defects? But that kind of movie has no character development, the story is just actions going there doing that, but nothing about the PEOPLE and how they grow and change.

Pfsk!!! Right now there is Shin's Project, A 100 Memories, Walking on Thin Ice, Our Golden Days even, Graceful Liar daily is amazing , .... they are all masterpieces...
Tempest, Mantis, Bon Appetit, Defects, are more westernized mainstream....but at least the acting was good.... etc etc etc etc ... !!!!
I loved Haunted Palace which was funny and deep, First Night with Duke which was fluffy fun and deep, etc. Queen's HOuse daily was very decent...
There are TONS of amazing kdramas....

The new trend is complexity in character and more competent and diverse FLs, which really makes it fun. And, nobody else but Koreans has that WARMTH and FUN and LIGHTNESS, everything is comedy, everything is rom com, everything is a thriller and adventure, ... AS LIFE IS.... life is never just one thing. Also, kdramas have meaningful stories and messages, and we see characters grow.

I watched so many cdramas and jdramas and they just ... dont ... Even the best cdrama like Bond is just not it. Too much suffering in China. Their vibe is too harsh.

I love kdramas and find no others could even compare

She is after money so she lies and pretends, SHe is really a spy and criminal

She is a clever slimey spy and a criminal.... She is there for herself, for money. She saved FL only bc FL will be paying her.

Although the story is very toxic, about immature toxic people making mistakes, the script is not really trash, the script is masterfully telling a story of many lives gone trashy bc of INGORANCE. the value of the story is seeing COMMON mistakes of immature people, and how SOME ppl are trying to fix their mistakes, and in contrast, what it looks like when you put no effort into it.

Interim Judge is the most mature person of them all, but not quite, he is still held on the leash by JH who drags him to watch HER play bbal for hours... just to sit there and look at her... and listen to her and give her free advice. She never ever asked one thing about him. Everything is about her.

YR is the person who put in most effort to grow, for sheer survival. ANd she made most progress. By ep..9? she as able to stand up to JH and say honestly what SHE needs.

CheabolBoy also made effort to grow. He stopped using "Ugly" and started real date stuff, and actually confessed. He is brave and he is truly in love, trying to come closer to YR.

JP made no effort to grow although he was told he had to, ..... until he was super pushed, and even then, his effort was sooo... mediocre and lot.... it was like ... not up all the way. Useless.

JH has no clue she has to grow and she has grown backwards SHe has done some terrible things like ask YR to help her catch JP although she saw how much she likes him; lying to JP's friends and trying to manipulate him; and then trying to compete with YR... JH sat on her butt for 7 years for "her dream" to be miss Korea and then suddely as soon as YR got JP and was forced to compete... there goes JH!!!!

JH is just an attention vampire

so with the great acting, we get to see how some ppl played their life and how we could play our life.
And we are not here to be on someone's side or not.
Rooting for a character is reserved when the story is clearly about good and evil, and even then... the heroes make mistakes too and we should never let them get away with it :) In every good story, the flawed hero fixes their messes...

IN this story, there is nobody good and nobody evil. All main characters are toxic and also "nice" people. SO you cannot stand by none of them. You can just watch and observe.

Although it is toxic and frustrating, it is very educational isnt it, and also acting is great, and the story allows us to analyze and see what is right and what is not. So the value of the story is great, it provides very deep learning on many levels. THE STORY PERTAINS TO OUR DAILY LIVES

I have faced YR JP JH in myself and others and I have studied this subject for a while LOL There is always more to learn :) Stephan Speaks free relationship coaching online was quite helpful to put into words some stuff I was observing myself. I dont agree 100% with EVERYTHING that Stephen speaks LOL but he is really common sense good advice, imo.

THe discussion here is ctitical as as a self growth tool, bc the more you think about issues presented in this drama, the more you LEARN

yeah JH is an adoration seeker and will do all kinds of stuff for that.
YR was interesting to her as long as YR was looking up to JH

I think in some regards it is trash writing and in other ways, it is a **** realistic real life very common toxic trash story **** about **** ordinary people who are toxic out of their immaturity and blindness ***** it challenges our views on friendship, love, family, etc etc AS WE WATCH OURSELVES IN THIS DRAMA....

- and since it is so murky and complex, it really electrifies and polarizes the audience. Do you realize how many ppl said that JP is a great guy, that JH is a wonderful friend, and that YR was cunning person who backstabed and stole from JH?
ALL fat butts JaePils, and all entitled selfish looking for adoration JHs, and all insecure doormat servants YR, they are all confused...

and those people who have seen the JP, the JH, the YR in themselves already and faced it and made it more clear, those ppl have more clear insight...

JP JH YR are all in us, we have such parts in us, and this drama speaks about the EPIDEMIC of those parts in the society. Some posts I read here totally shocked me by their ignorance

So to me, the value of this drama is exposing the trash toxic parts of our social norms so that it can be discussed

I am so utterly shocked by non-physical nature of so many ppl who wonder why JH is avoiding physical touch with EH and why is he "suddenly" crushing on EH.
Hello!!! Watch ep 1 again, where he jumps out and chases someone who harassed EH. A man who does that is not acting for a friend. He liked her.

JH loved EH from the beginning, just was too frozen to know it.
He melted a bit now so he is starting to feel.

AND when you like someone, you want to touch them and grab them, that is natural - isnt it for you???? - it is natural for anyone who is healthy!!!!! -

and he is trying to avoid her from coming close bc he could fall for the temptation and grab her, and that would be no good... esp since he is male, his enthusiasm will be very visible.
so he avoids her.

She feels that she has an upper edge so she keeps coming too close... but she is not aware of it. TO her, it is just like a little play

BTW when was the last time you saw and/or interacted with a healthy adult esp young male??
Yeah they are almost extinct in the USA :)

And she, being so thin frail and non-physical, does not understand it. She is too skinny and weak and just cannot feel her own body, or maybe bc she is so skinny, her hormones do not even work.

So they are going to be a mismatch, an athletic physical guy and a fragile non-physical thing all bones no muscles . THis relationship aint moving unti she starts working out, where she COULD match him. Otherwise she is a nice little toy but unusitable for a lover.
