That era is soooo scary and anything happens as everyone has poisons, swords, knives and arrows and torture chambers, so.... let us see what happens. A good king would be most welcome to sort of clean up that mess. But I dislike the idea of being jailed in the palace LOL and I am not sure that YW even wants that job and even more basic, if he is even talented for the job.... I am not convinced yet :)

i agree that he gives the flavor. He is a great actor of subtlety which is appropriate for the "spineless prince"

He is a bait in the story bc it SEEMS like he improved, he did help Eun Ho, but he never fundamentally changed, bc the first thing he thinks of is how to save his rich privileged status. So that dude is going downhill bc it is 1 step forward, 2 steps back, and he already started from a line 10000km from the start line with his violence and discrimination.

So ... unless something super drastic happens where he finally realizes people are people, slaves or kings, and that he matters regardless of his $$$$, .... this dude is going to trash...

I can see why.. I checked just the last clip - it shows SUPER sexism as mom does not let the daughter eat, all meat goes to the man - and he says nothing. This is a realistic scene though, and shows what Korea - and the entire world - are based on. That one scene explains the entire human history and it is a very very very unpleasant ugly honest portrait of humans as ignorant trash

One more realistic: YW becomes king and EH becomes his first concubine and effectively acts as his wife and they improve the country. Fairy tale: she gets permission to act as a doctor too

Hm DID you watch the drama? During he hunt, the king displaced how many villages, rode over their crops and left the villagers starving... then his fast orders to torture for treason... THAT IS NOT BAD ENOUGH FOR YOU? THe king is always with his s.x partner and what does that say about him? He is an opium addict and others rule the kingdom in utmost corruption and violence ... the villagers were starving to begin with, then killing off the village of lepers, torturing anyone anytime.. etc THAT IS NOT BAD ENOUGH FOR YOU?

Also, we HEAR about bad things that are not shown. There was already too many deaths and the king is always issuing orders to torture traitors....

So those 2 little details you noticed are ... small details in the overall pattern of an insane and selfish ruler committing atrocities - he could care less for people
