Title Life: Love on the Line Spoiler
This manga adaptation tells an emotional journey about love and the choices that makes us happy. It was an easygoing dorama, glossy and kind and at times cozily corny. It was realistic and relatable not the type of story that make you cringe. And yet, for me, it was also a fraught experience, both pained and giddy, cheering and dismaying. It was moving, beautifully acted and written, truly well made not only because it made me smile, angry and cry but because it resonated and also I’ve watched it three times already today. “We are just little dots that were forced into this world like this, helpless and lonely. That is why someday we search for another dot to connect with, someone that we can form a line with and live on”. This opening narration hit me really hard but it also made me hopeful. PS I still think Yuki forgave Akira so easily and that Akira was so selfish and insensitive that he doesn’t deserve Yuki’s beautiful smile.

He’s being selfish and insensitive right? He should’ve thought about his idea of “normal” relationship…
Exactly, he did it all for himself. In the last episode I somehow understand that he wanted a normal relationship coz he’s afraid of waking up alone in bed. But things like this should be communicated with your partner. I know it’s truly difficult to maintain a gay relationship but if you really love one another, everything else will work out perfectly. Sadly in episode 3 Akira chickened out. I personally think he doesn’t deserve Yuki’s beautiful smile. It’s fiction but gosh I’m so affected.

Title Life: Love on the Line Spoiler
I have mixed feelings, mainly about Akira. I'm just so angry that they lost nine years of being together because…
He’s being selfish and insensitive right? He should’ve thought about his idea of “normal” relationship before he pulled poor Yuki into him.

Wow Akira I’m fuming with disappointment!!! I just really need to get this out of my chest. No matter what his reasons are, he’s a total scumbag!!! Yuki deserves someone better!!!

Title Step for You
Strongberry crafted again another captivating, warm, sweet and charming romance without any extra frills. Despite its slender run time, a straightforward, relatively relatable narrative, the film lingers in the mind thanks to the compelling presence of the two main actors.
On Secret Spectacles Jul 11, 2020
At the end of a long tiresome week, when you're sick of the real world and just want to disengage your critical thinking brain for a while, you just can't beat a good story with a healthy dose of laughs.

Title My Pistachio
It was straightforward and well acted. This short film simultaneously pulled my heartstrings and poked at my funny bone, and the best part was the happy ending.
On Table Manner Jul 11, 2020
Title Table Manner
It was simple and minimalist. Had no layer of stories but rather it was character focused like any Strongberry production. I found the awkwardness of their interactions to be hilarious, however, it ended suddenly with an open ended question and without resolving the issues posted in the plot. PS I felt bad for Geon Woo the whole time, he was perfect and he deserved better.
On The Shortest Distance Is Round Jul 10, 2020
Not that I’m complaining but this was egregiously disappointing. Watched the two versions and it felt like the film was 30% real story and 70% french kissing and bed scenes. Moreover, the film was shackled with insipid and dull plot. The bland characters had no depth and were unsympathetic, however, acting-wise they were somehow believable selling sex. But what’s the point of having two different endings anyway?
On He She It Jul 10, 2020
Title He She It
The cast and the plot of this miniseries definitely looked promising, however, because it only had three episodes, much of the scenes and storylines were underdeveloped and may appear perplexing and unclear at times.
On Capture Lover Jul 9, 2020
It hit all the bad marks for directing, script, sound, editing and acting but I still enjoyed it anyway. Although certain scenes might seem lacking and in need of improvements, but the chemistry between the main leads undeniably shine through, so much that I can’t help but adore them.
On Secrets in the Hot Spring Jul 9, 2020
Not quite like Ghostbusters but the budding bromance between the three male leads makes the whole thing work. This film took the whole goofy comedy - horror genre to a whole new level. It deconstructed cliches and added some surprisingly touching story at its heart. With a tight storyline, beautiful set design and likeable characters this film is definitely a must - see.
On The Tenants Downstairs Jul 9, 2020
Creepy, perverted and unexpected! It was a lurid fantasy of wounded flesh and accursed lives that entwine and separate in a building run by a deranged and voyeuristic landlord. The film was a lusciously photographed cavalcade of grotesque comedy, torture porn and all round depravity. The performances were spot on right down the line which had the audience engaged in a simple and subtle yet incredibly strong grip until that shocking and misjudged final twist.
On The Madness Night Jul 8, 2020
A soft core porn which featured depictions of sadomasochistic sexual fetish, obsession and perversion that was coupled with violence. It was incredibly shocking and bizarrely touching. Also, the sex scenes was hot stuff, even though they were a lot less explicit than they seem at first glance.

I recently watched this again and it’s still as funny and entertaining as before and probably one of the best manga adaptation I’ve seen. Usually a movie remake of a book will have more or less half of the scenes altered or even deleted altogether. But this film was actually very similar if not almost similar to the manga. The way the setting was set, the order of the scenes, even what the characters are saying were precise to the manga. This Korean feature length flick openly explores homosexual eroticism with undertones of murder, mystery and suspense. The film was clumsy, peppered with musical numbers sprinkled in without warning which was fun and addictive. Although far from masterclasses, each main role was portrayed with a sense of finesse, adding depth and distinguishing features to their characters. And despite its rough exterior and uncoordinated sparkle, the film still managed to have me laughing, invested in all of the flawed characters and somewhat charmed by the bursting visuals of old-fashioned decor and delicious cakes.
On As if You Whisper Jul 8, 2020
The film was beautiful but marred with poor character and plot development maybe coz its running time was just under an hour. But nevertheless, the roles were actually shallow and sorely lacking in depth. Some of the scenes were strained and devoid of any spark. However, the song was phenomenal, it was both sweet and heartbreaking. I’d be really nice if it’s made available online.
On Boy Meets Boy Jul 8, 2020
I was completely unprepared for that hilariously funny musical number. It may be short but it was the sweetest thing. It was charming and delightful to watch even without a spoken word.
On The Depths Jul 7, 2020
Title The Depths
The plot itself was pretty good although many points stayed obscure and mooted between hidden desires, societal expectations and impulsive actions that were somehow remained unresolved by the end of the film. The acting was average and forgettable. One can either love, hate or pity the characters, but it was difficult to identify with their actions. The saint remains untouched, the rotten remains rotten, and the abandoned gets abandoned once more. No surprises there, but then again no moral lessons either.
