This is one of my absolute favorites. It is very angsty and Vee can be a real moron at times but that is all part of it. Despite Vee being a really stupid man he is one of my favorite characters in all of BL. Obviously this is a drama and things are blown out of proportion but I still found this show to be rather believable - just feels more real than most.
Yin and War did a fantastic job as Vee and Mark - so much of their interactions felt natural. War is a fantastic actor - says so much with his expressions. Yin played Vee perfectly - I was very impressed with him many times and his smile is a 10 out of 10. The chemistry between the leads was excellent and I do hope we see more projects with the two of them!
his acting is bad. there was a reason that he didn't speak thai much because it would have showcased his bad acting…
English is the global language - that is fact. Historically, It was a British thing, but now its all of ours. There are likely more English speakers in China & India individually than the US and UK combined. I still want English to evolve a little more still - add all the best words from all the other languages that English lacks.
Anyways. What you said tho - absolutely, unequivocally, and undeniably made you sound like a self-centered westerner. I mean, like... exactly like the stereotype. You even said you weren't "a self centered westerner" which is as based as it gets. The overall tone, poor grammar, punctuation that has nothing to do with how the text is meant to be read and that fantastic bit about the Thai captions ππ―
To be frank, I think you troll too frankly - your never gonna get any fish to bite. You will find other trolls tho ππ
The romance in NiF2 is really not the primary part of the story at all. I don't recall a kiss even between the main lead and his wife, the female lead.
I understand you must have a zero tolerance policy.
I may have enjoyed the second season more than the first and I didn't think that was possible after I finished the first season. Both are very good!
I think its the dad. He probaly insisted that his son share a room with him because he doesnt want it fo look…
Haha, yeah I just tend to overreact sometimes. That is exactly what is going on. I was just annoyed they went that far with it. Absolutely not as a big of a deal as I made it in that rant - if I had recalled writing that before your reply, I prolly would have deleted it π
For the sake of argument, I thought this generation was all about fluidity. Noey and Thi are Gen-Z, so why aren't…
I actually did realize that and I didn't mean to zone in that so much - it was an over reaction π
I actually agree with you about Gen Z - those I know, even in a rather conservatively backwards area, are much more open minded. They seem to even have a different take on relationships in general.
i really rec you dont watch it, the ppl that rate it good are lying. also dont watch if you get triggered- It…
Alright, so you have an awesome profile that made laugh but I couldn't disagree with you more on this.
Society is holding one of them back more than the other bc one is poor and one has wieldable power due to his Father being actually in the communist party (very big deal) - I think more likely reason the show was cancelled. He literally takes a government official guy's dog - to him the world rules don't apply. Its much easier for him to accept who he is and envision a life against the grain.
I just don't see the whole rape thing. If he was being raped he would have done more than say no - these are two men were talking about and I wouldn't say either come across as weak.
He is totally obsessed though and its π₯π―
I still think this is one the absolute best ever made.
You might miss a really great show with perfectly written characters, a good story and a bromance that just lets…
I'm quite hard western productions bc I truly feel like I would have been better off not seeing the media that I was exposed to while growing up and into early adulthood.
I really enjoyed Heartstopper and Call me By your Name. I hope all the little gay boys in the world are able to see Heartstopper and so many of these productions from SE Asia - maybe the next generation of us will less messed up.
I've never thought about why Chinese subtext is so amazing - they are masters of it, you are completely right. I do like how long Chinese dramas are too.
Would you recommend K&H over Guardian? And, you've see them all, of the big 4 that are always mentioned for subtext - Untamed, WoH, Guardian & K&H - which is your favorite? π
For the sake of argument, I thought this generation was all about fluidity. Noey and Thi are Gen-Z, so why aren't…
Sorry, I actually deleted that comment before I saw your reply. I would have left it for context. I actually have ran into this a lot and it was more of a button than I realized - I felt like I overreacted.
Anyways, you entirely correct - there are no male fan events of that kind... I don't how big that would be. Right now this industry is still on events like that bc they haven't quite grasped the full global aspect of this yet.
A Dollar, Pound, Euro, Yen, all are worth far, far more than a Baht. Once they give the international audience an equivalent to the fan meets...

Yeah, I think there are a ton of gays watching this now. I won't support western queer productions at all. I'm literally done with Hollywood's depiction of gay men.
I actively choose not to support western LGBT shit, bc its shit.
I did watch Heartstopper but Young Royals season 2 wasn't enough for me to renew my Netflix subscription and I haven't even got around to pirating it.
I PAY for GAGA, Viki, iQiyi and have spent money on Strongberry, ITSAY, and several more - I could pirate all of these super easy but I don't.
Not sure if you have heard about bisexuality but okay π nowhere in the series did Noey or anyone else say Noey…
This is the same Director that gave us the hi-five at the end of 2gether. I felt like that entire show was a troll. Its all about the Director. There are a lot of actual LGBT ppl in the BL industry these days, so I expect this to only get better. 10 years ago main characters would only be "gay 4 you" outside of the obvious, super flamboyant, ladyboy type character. It has come a very long way.
Ok, I'm on episode 3 and I don't even mind the show - lowkey nice to see Chimon and Perth again, Pond and Phuwin are not doing a bad job, its whatever... I had to take an actual break at the end of part 2 of episode 3, fr
That scene where Palm is lying in bed, dreaming of dancing, then out nowhere we find out he's in a bunk bed and his Dad walks in, crawls into the top bunk and says some shit about getting up early in the morning - I'm not even rly sure what he said bc I was already going to close the tab
I think that may have been one of the most unbelievable things I have ever seen. Not so much that a father and son share a room, thats not what I mean - that the writers thought that in this setting, under these circumstances, that I would just buy into that being just one more thing poor Palm is dealing with" - like... just pisses me off.
Richest family in Thailand, super nice lady/family matriarch enrolls lifelong employee's son into her own son's super elite, ultra expensive private school and personally invites him to live in her mansion, saying something like "there are many rooms here" and the Dad makes the kid bunk up with him. Like really, did they send someone to buy the bunkbed, why was there even bunkbed in the entire house?
Why would this man take a bullet for a lady that puts him up in a closet that he has to share with his son? Why would a grown ass man think it appropriate behavior for him to share a closet with his 18 year old son in his bosses mansion house?
I literally felt that actors shame as he crawled into that top bunk. That was ridiculous.
I would say that this is less of a BL, and more of a lakorn with LGBTQ+ elements. BLs usually focus more on the…
"proposing alternatives to capitalism"
I cannot agree with you more on that topic. I will say that homophobia is not at all eradicated in the States. Right now there is a growing movement among conservatives to label all gays, at least men, "groomers" and they are actively trying to remove us from jobs like school teachers, etc. With the composition of our Supreme Court, I'm not even positive gay marriage is a permanent fixture of our society.
All that said, your still right.
Late stage capitalism is a nightmare that will only get worse as long as we continue dreaming.

That is exactly what I thought about Word of Honor before I finally watched it and that was fantastic. That said - I haven't watched this or Guardian yet for the exact reason you mentioned. If I want to watch a "bromance" or gay sub-text I'll just a western LGBT production and stop before they die at the end
He has said things over the years that are just not OK.
Over the years is key here...

This was one of the biggest shows in Thailand in 2022 - there is a reason it got a 4 episode second season so fast.
That is one of my favorite things ever.
