@Silence,i definitely believe that ohm deserved 2 be betrayed by jom in the past, just like ohm betrayed jom in…
Well, I don't I don't think its our place to punish others - so we prolly just won't agree on that topic.
What I'm more getting at is that Ohm and Jom have separate fates/destiny that tho intertwined for awhile, are not about each other. Its Ohm's destiny to end up with Kaew - its his fate to have a relationship with Jom. The same way Jom is destined to end up with someone else.
I'm reading a little into the plot but its fairly obvious given the Ohm/Kaew situation.
I'd say they are all having their fair share of Karma play out. Ohm isn't happy in either life I've seen him in - neither is Kaew or Jom.
Jom is the only one with a greater perspective - the only one capable of seeing the big picture. I get that he's hurt but he feels bad for a reason.
It doesn't do much good to get upset about someone ending up with who they are supposed to. He takes forever to decide - thinking all about it. Knowing their situation in this lifetime and how they are in the next - its pretty clear what's going on with them. They even had Ohm ask him to save their love.
Then they made a point of showing he chose to say what he did bc was upset. Like I said earlier - I think this was the "correct" call made for the wrong reasons.
@Silence,i definitely believe that ohm deserved 2 be betrayed by jom in the past, just like ohm betrayed jom in…
I was just replying - didn't realize how much this conversation had progressed from this point. I don't think I want to weigh in on all of it.
I just want to say that I think Jom did the right thing with the exception of stating clearly that she was sending him away.
As far as what Ohm did to Jom in the future - it wasn't all right, I'm not saying that it was. Its just that its obvious that fate/destiny play a key role in this series - Ohm was always going to go to America and knock up that women.
@Silence,i definitely believe that ohm deserved 2 be betrayed by jom in the past, just like ohm betrayed jom in…
Eye for an eye and we all go blind.
I was disappointed that it was portrayed that way also. Jom was betrayed but he has a bigger perspective on the situation now - he has seen these same people together again in their future incarnations.
Were I Jom in that situation I would have immediately felt relieved and been able to forgive him and move on.
They have a relationship spanning lifetimes - clearly a bigger deal than whatever they had going on before he went abroad.
With the complete and absurd transformation of Kang, this series officially became fan service and nothing more.…
This was maybe a little fast but I'm assuming there is more drama to come. I'm not sure its all that unbelievable tho.
Sailom has had an unreciprocated low key crush on Kang for awhile - maybe before Kang was such a dick. Its not like they have a blood feud or anything, Sailom just stood up to him and put a target on his back. Kang kept upping the ante bc of pride more than anything. So even tho he's been such an ass to him Sailom still likes him.
Thats why he turns on a dime - that and he doesn't have much of a choice otherwise. Once Kang saw him getting beat up, saved him and saw him in such a vulnerable state Sailom has nothing to gain anymore from hostility. His life of poverty and circumstances, the real reason he took the tutoring job, all his insecurities fully displayed.
Then Kang suddenly got nicer to him and started paying him attention he couldn't explain. When he got to see Kang's family issues it explained/excused his behavior. Sailom's transition makes sense to me as long as he has doubt/trust issues and they've shown us that.
Kang's transition would feel fast had he not stepped in and saved Sailom from getting permanently burned, solely bc he doesn't have an amount of money that he thinks of as pocket change. In that moment the ridiculousness of what he was doing hit him upside the head with a reality check.
I'd wager he felt a fair amount of guilt - he isn't really a bad guy, I think him throwing money at Sai right after this all went down demonstrates his attempting to take some sort of responsibility. His being real nice the next few days makes sense too.
The most significant transformative thing he did was choose to actually attend Sailom's tutoring sessions - just so he would get paid from his Dad bc he knew that he wouldn't accept the money if he didn't. That also makes sense considering the iron incident.
This is an enemies to lovers story where that transition occurs in a single moment bigger than both of them. In that sense its a bit original.
Hiring Perth and Chimon for this series is like buying a Pagani to be an Uber driver. What a complete waste of…
Perth and Chimon's interactions have definitely made a bigger impression on me than anything else about the show. I've always liked them individually and I'm really enjoying seeing them together.
My opinion may change when they start sharing more of the screen time with the other couples. It is rather basic/tropey and I likely wouldn't watch this if it were made with all newbie actors.
Rn tho, I'd watch another episode even of Kang and Sailom just hanging out around Bangkok 😅
First they asked the foreigners for their Instagram and became friends and all and then those foreigners proceeded…
Well, at least don't trust foreigners for sure - that much was clear. Even if they seem cool and you have a good time speaking English with them - they'll still prolly try to f*ck you later.
I kno they jus needed a bad guy but it does suck that this portrayal is obviously not very controversial locally.
Ok, I understand we hijacked your genre - that absolutely did happen. I'm not sorry about it tho cause BL is literally…
Well, this is a highly difficult thing to articulate in a post or two - I assure you that I'm not trying to gatekeep at all, in fact I'm also annoyed with gay gatekeepers.
I'm not trying to say that women shouldn't make gay content - or that there is anything wrong with doing so. I've quite enjoyed a lot of it.
I specifically said that "Women on MDL" - I don't care at all about women literally fetishizing gay men, wtf ever that means. That argument tends to come from women. I only made that distinction to establish that BL as a genre for women is not a universally accepted truth by any sense.
The OP gave me old school BL vibes so I used the Fudanshi language - something I've identified as many times btw, I've no disposition to the term itself. I did that to further draw the line - I'm not simply an outside observer of this content. Its immediately obvious when presented this way.
I actually agree with the OP about a lot of what was stated in regards to Rick and others like him - it was the other comments I was addressing, not even my biggest issues actually.
BL is gay and has always been gay bc its about gay boys/men, being all gay and doing gay stuff. There is no "orientation neutral" boys kissing boys that isn't still gay.
agree everyone is kinda missing point that Nick basically stalked Boston and juaging from trailer and tester he…
Yeah, this really isn't the place to be discussing covid and Fascism and I'm assuming you must be trolling bringing them into this discussion.
That said - you clearly don't understand what fascism is. Rhetorically, Donald Trump is the most fascist leader since Hitler - I believe he has literally studied the man in order to emulate him.
Forcing everyone to get the vaccine that Trump's Warp Speed operation developed was maybe a little authoritarian but that isn't the same as fascist.
People like GoodRick are just hypocritical dipshits in the comment section. To quote this idiot, "I'm not here…
Ok, I understand we hijacked your genre - that absolutely did happen. I'm not sorry about it tho cause BL is literally gay content and I am literally a gay man.
I have not had visual representation on a screen of anything like a relationship I would want to have my entire life. When I found Sotus and then Love Sick in 2019 I couldn't believe how innocent it was - most gay content on a screen is porn. until recently if a gay movie was made it was tragic.
It was completely opposite the normal x rated content I've been used to since childhood, it depicted rather unrealistic "gay" relationships and was clearly fantasy from a female perspective - especially early BL, but I had never seen anything like it.
I was so taken in by boys being all cute with each other in public that I just laughed at all that seme and uke, only gay for you, super toxic possessiveness and very exploitative fan service - honestly there wasn't much about it that wasn't a little sus in some way.
I really liked the idea that a guy could fall for a guy and just roll with it - bc thats not how that is. Long before we know what it means to be gay we kno that it means different. Gay panic does exist, there are real reasons some of us struggle with just being gay.
It would be very cool if boys someday could grow up in a world where they could truly just discover who they are.
Anyways, I also want to clarify that its also better for the people that make BL to make it for us Gay men - with only one point, tho I have many... I'm not actually a Fudanshi - there is nothing "rotton" about my interest in this content. I can unashamedly talk about this content with everyone I talk to about stuff.
This isn't a fetish for me and nobody will accuse me of anything like that bc I watch this content - there are 100% women on MDL that would accuse you of fetishizing gay men - you practically listed everything they would list to prove their point... which is not my point I just found that interesting.
My point is that despite the genre initially being written about MY community for YOUR community its evolving into something different now - something that more realistically includes the community its about. Thats better - progress even.
I'm not mad or anything - its just you sound like a boomer bitching about the change in the neighborhood everyone else sees as an obvious improvement.
Anyways, I only scrolled down this far to catch up on the Rick drama - its not his first rodeo. Didn't intend to end up writing a book reply to a week old post first thing in the morning.
I got my rant of the day out of the way early today!
I think Joong hadn't had that 'cancelation' moment yet. this is the first time I've heard about him being homophobic?
If he had previously said that he was interested in men and was gay - he wouldn't have been asked if he was dating girls.
Additionally, I think given the prominence of how frequently a BL actor suspected of being Gay ends up having a girlfriend I think many female fans would low key relieved to find out that he wouldn't date a women and was actually angry at the suggestion he would.
Thank you, I thought I was the only one! Never got the appeal of Bad Buddy. Ohm and Nanon are decent, but I never…
I'm unfortunately more curious as to why you say Nanon is the lorax of the homophobes? I'm not all that familiar with Nanon - I'm a huge fan of Ohm tho. I'm assuming this has something to do with their alleged falling out?
I'm not even concerned with the actors in real life to be honest - I don't care if their together or anything like that. I don't like homophobia tho. Calling Nanon the lorax... you must feel strongly about that - may I ask why?
Thank you, I thought I was the only one! Never got the appeal of Bad Buddy. Ohm and Nanon are decent, but I never…
Well I admit I haven't seen since it aired and I'll make a point to go back and re-watch it. My own standards have increased substantially over the past 2 years and perhaps nostalgia is clouding my judgement.
in my opinion, this is not as toxic as TharnType for example, but it's not untoxic either? hahahaha considering…
This is primary divide - I don't feel that there are consent issues. That said, one of the characters does protest at times and the other doesn't allow it.
The reasons we say no sometimes matter as much as what we are saying. In this case one of the characters was denying himself what he wanted bc of society.
The hardest part of this to convey is that this is a relationship between equal men - neither of them are weak.
There are 100% issues in the novel - I don't recommend you read it but the drama isn't as cut and dry.
What I'm more getting at is that Ohm and Jom have separate fates/destiny that tho intertwined for awhile, are not about each other. Its Ohm's destiny to end up with Kaew - its his fate to have a relationship with Jom. The same way Jom is destined to end up with someone else.

"It might be karma to Jom to fall in love with ohm in the future because of what he did in the past."
Even if given opportunity, it isn't our place to mete out punishments we believe someone deserves.
I personally have never got anyone back without creating more issues for myself.
I was disappointed that it was portrayed that way also. Jom was betrayed but he has a bigger perspective on the situation now - he has seen these same people together again in their future incarnations.
Were I Jom in that situation I would have immediately felt relieved and been able to forgive him and move on.

Fr tho, him having to pee better have some sort of significance to the story

I'm just low key glad it wasn't an American 😅

None of this has anything to do with BL.
I have not had visual representation on a screen of anything like a relationship I would want to have my entire life. When I found Sotus and then Love Sick in 2019 I couldn't believe how innocent it was - most gay content on a screen is porn. until recently if a gay movie was made it was tragic.
