Well, I'm sorry that some gay men have given you the impression that they have a say in what you like or not. You are definitely not a pervert just for liking BL content while also being a women - that's ridiculous.

I don't know if this show requires me to suspend disbelief about the number of gay people. Like with like. This is a group of mostly openly gay or bisexual people - of course they would attract others like them to their social circle.

OK, I can't speak for all gay men but I don't give a damn about women "fetishizing" gay relationships - I don't think that is whats going on with most women but even for the ones that actually are - if that is what floats their boat than so be it. If anything I'm grateful to the fetishizing women - this genre exists bc of them.

Yeah, I should prolly stop using it. I've referred to myself as a Fudanshi on many occasions, but this is old school BL terminology and it doesn't need to stay.

Your right tho - BL is the categorized term for the genre now and it will continue to include shows like Only Friends

I didn't even realize it until I was searching for more BL content back when I discovered the genre in 2018 - my only real exposure to the term beforehand was Southpark and the episode they did about NAMBLA - The North American Man Boy Love Association.

Unfortunately that is actually a thing and I never want to be even remotely associated with that.

I think Only Friends is a fantastic example of actual gay content being enjoyed by most everyone that liked traditional BL despite it being 100% a gay show. There is almost nothing about it that fits the BL formula.

Truthfully, the standard BL story is a bit played out at this point.

The only real issue I have with BL as the genre term is that it is very, very close to "boy love" which is not good at all.

Yeah, that is a rather childish opinion. Life is complicated. I've been in Vee's situation twice - once with a man and once with a women. One was OK and was was NOT. I dated one of them for 3 months - the other I still despise 15 years later.

The next 11 episodes of the show would not exist if you were correct about what happened in episode 1.
