I find certain people very annoying right now. These people keep going on and on about how Style seduced Fadel…
Vintage cars in their original state and good condition are worth more than money - their value increases much faster than money. Every year that passes they become rarer and thereby more valuable - that only goes one way, rare old cars don't lose value unless the condition changes. The car was something Style couldn't say no to. I think most men pitched that deal would agree to it. Worse case they get nothing but embarrassed, best case, an awesome car and maybe a few hookups. Why not?
Plus - if I were Style, I wouldn't even think the car deal would be a dealbreaker for Fadel were he to find out. I would wait til I got the car and pick Fadel up in it and while driving where ever explain the whole thing as "Kant really wants your brother and Bison said their best shot at dating was if you were in a relationship, so Kant asked me to help him out. I knew you were an asshole already tho and I declined so he offered me this car" and I would actually be upset with Fadel if he was mad at me for that.
I'm sorry but there is some massive attempt at gaslighting in some comments here (and i feel like that goes for…
Fadel and Bison literally kill people for a "Nice Lady" that "helped" them when they were desperate - they are victims too but the least so in my opinion, that conversation where it came to light that Fadel left and came back bc he "had nowhere to go" was quite revealing. They were obviously groomed to be hitmen but they both kno its wrong.
Kant is in the most difficult position and its really the only legitimate position - he is working for the police to clear his name but not of his own volition, he was selected by the American cop to seduce Bison and find evidence to build his case while doing it. Tho thats f*cked up - he has no choice. Kant is clearly a victim as he has no control at all.
Style is just in over his head and too arrogant to trust even his intuition about Fadel. Kant is using him to get Fadel bc he knew he could get him to try bc of his ego - the car was only necessary bc Style already had a run in with Fadel - otherwise that appeal to his ego alone prolly would have worked - he is really only a victim bc Fadel is actually dangerous and will literally kill him if he needs to and Kant knew this and said nothing.
Yeah - all of this makes it really hard to see these characters together at the end. That is the story tho, its the entire plot. Murder, deception, coercion, betrayal, lust - those are the ties that bind our 4 leads together. This isn't a fluffy story and its not just a comedy - its a Shakespearean comedy so this being a complicated and messy story shouldn't surprise anyone at all.
Its also better than a direct adaptation of Taming of the Shrew - that would be far, far more controversial than anything this show can do.
Then watch another show, and I don't mean that in a bad/aggressive way. They clearly focus more on the group issue,…
I'm truly annoyed that you found a way to place those two shows in the same sentence. If you dropped Caged Again just to be bored on Fridays and complain - that sounds like a you problem to me.
Caged Again is an absolute gem. I'll not even defend it as that is self evident.
Thai drama is just now BL and more BL. 2000-2018 was the peak of Thai drama. And most of the new Thai drama are…
Yeah... thats bc of how much money has flowed into Thailand bc of BL. The shows they are making now, at least from the larger studios, have a lot more resources at their disposal than they ever did in 2000-2018. BL itself is a genre that is still evolving.
Nothing about Thai media has peaked.
In a few years everything will be English subbed, always every time. That will happen bc of all the international attention that BL is drawing to Thailand. Much like China, Thailand will benefit from the attention BL garners - Addicted was my first, and many people's first foray into Chinese media and I've now watched far more non-BL Chinese productions than I have BL or Bromance.
Obviously Thailand will need to create non-BL dramas that appeal to an international audience - rn making a Thai production for an international audience that isn't a BL would be kinda silly. If ain't broke, don't fix it. They are still thinking that other stuff is just for Thailand, so they don't sub it, despite people like you that are wanting to watch it. They will figure it out.
This isn't good bye - they didn't even kiss. There will be a Season 2 😉
Noh is only 15 - I don't think they will wait 3-4 years to do a sequel, he just needs to be a bit older. I don't have any issues with 17 year olds kissing each other for example. I think they are seniors but we didn't see them graduate so they could wait and pivot to university but they could revisit Friday yet.
Taming of the Shrewbut i honestly don't see what part of this drama is taming of the shrew...I LOVED ToS..
ahh, I gotcha now. Marx did appreciate Shakespeare, culture in general. It was one the things that radicalized Lenin so much - that the working classes had no access to culture and were deprived of living lives enriched by it.
Even today there are master paintings that have never left the rich families that originally purchased or consigned them and have never been seen by people outside of their circles.
I'm on episode 3 and I'm absolutely loving Dunk in this - seriously. I have not watched much of him before this. He is fantastic in this. His character is trying everything, super hard to win over someone who can't be won over. He should be over the top, he should look like he is trying, his character literally is - thats the whole plot.
This is a completely different role than anything he has ever done and he has created a character that is quite memorable. I can't think of him in a burger outfit or demanding beers and getting thrown out or all greased up from working on cars without smiling - I think he is killing it tbh
I binged watched all 15 episodes over the last week and fell in love. The original series was the beginning of…
"because the writing and character development are much stronger than what we usually get from Thai BLs"
These comments annoy me a little bit. Thailand makes the most BLs - every year there are incredibly high quality and well written shows. There are also a lot of shows made on a shoestring budget to formula that just seems to print money, they are not original, they are not innovative, they are not supposed to be.
You are comparing apples to oranges - they just all happen to be from Thailand.
I can't believe Caged Again is your first Series - I'm so impressed with that show I don't kno what to say, I think you've done a truly excellent job with your first series fr.
I think one of the best aspects of Caged Again is also one of the hardest to really talk about. The show has an excellent awareness of exactly what it is and doesn't lose sight of that at all while telling an adorable and very fantastical story. I keep waiting almost for it to cross a line into maybe too cheesy, too campy or too try hard and it just never does - it isn't like the show is toeing any of these lines, its very cleverly dancing over all of them. The 4th wall break is I think one the hardest things to do well and here its used in a way that feels almost natural - that is an accomplishment in an of itself. I'm assuming you had a little something to do with all this 😉
Whatever it is your doing - just keep doing it bc you are killing it 👍💯😁
I look forward to more of your projects in the future!
Yes! Yes! Yes and uh Yeah! Wow you have covered everything, I absolutely adore this gem of a show!Merry Christmas/Happy…
Haha - I had to stop myself from writing more, I get a little wordy sometimes. This might end up being the first show I actually leave a review for - I feel almost guilty for not talking about the Actors - obviously all 4 leads but so many of the side characters have made minor roles very memorable characters, I'm really impressed with everyone involved with this project tbh
Tbh - I can't tell you how MoD ended rn to save my life. If you are only comparing Sammon's adapted work, I much…
Ahh, c'mon - I'm not the only person that thought MoD was a little slow. I think your the first person I've seen call 4Minutes trash. There was not a single issue with 4Minutes that I could not easily overlook - I thought it was quite good, plus Bible...
Bible delivered an iconic performance - iconic. That was like the buzzword on that page describing him, I did say it at the time but I'm echoing a lot of people.
This show is a real gem. All the comments about it being cute - its adorable, like master class adorable. Everything is just the right level of whatever it is for the story - obviously the cuteness and actors/acting in general but also the fantasy/realism, the comedy, the Home Alone bad guys, even the 4th wall breaks - its like just the right amount of all of it.
I also think it has a very powerful message hidden right under the surface of all the flawless cuteness. The interplay between the animal lives and the human lives of the main characters is showing us the characters grapple with serious questions "What's important in life? What do I want out of life?" and they have absolutely no baggage like parents or other people in their lives to consider at all, no obligations, no responsibilities, they are in school but the grades don't matter, so there is no excuse for the characters, or us, but to deal with maybe the biggest questions in life. Wow. That is absolutely epic, bravo.
When you peel away all the bs its rather obvious isn't it? "I just want to eat what I want to eat, watch what I want to watch, be near the people that I want to be with and just go with the flow" - is that not a good life? Maybe a better life than having everything that money can buy? You don't need to work life away for one of those.
I should write about how awesome the acting and production have been but this is getting very long and I have one more thing I have to say.
I watched this solely bc of Porsch and Arm - I'm very glad I did but initially they were the entire reason why, if you are making a BL, take note of that. I think they are awesome and I want them to live their best life - so please throw money at them, not that money is all important but I'm sure they would appreciate. I would very much appreciate all my younger peers to know of them and that they can be like them - the exact role they played in this show actually. It is important when we are young to have examples we can see of what we can be. I think they very naturally portray an excellent example of how we can be.
I'm sure this is apparent at this point but I highly recommend this show. To everyone involved with this project - thank you, seriously, well done!

Truly a brilliant observation 😉💯
I'm really glad to see I'm not the only one 😁
Very cool pfp btw!

If you are only comparing Sammon's adapted work, I much prefer 4 Minutes to MoD - this show I've not seen enough of yet.
