Whats the story? Rain thinks he likes Ple but she is obsessed with Payu, so Rain becomes curious of Payu right…
Nice! So glad I convinced you - I was just so surprised after so many BLs where ppl literally just go to school to see a comment about lack of story I had to say something bc this is obviously more than that 😉
For me this drama is so bad . I mean what is the story ??
Whats the story?
Rain thinks he likes Ple but she is obsessed with Payu, so Rain becomes curious of Payu right from start and bc he also is a legend at the faculty - turns he is the handsome man who changed his tire in the rain. Prapai thought he found a clever, albeit messed up, way to get himself a one night stand with Sky and caught feelings - lucky for him his friend started dated his one night stands best friend. There is also bike racing.
That is better plot than lots of BLs and this easily the best MAME story.
Boss and Noeul are one of the believable couples in all of BL - I wonder about them irl a bit they are so into each other on screen and I don't ship actors irl, they are just that convincing - way more so than most.
You are quite a character Mr. Heartless. Its kinda funny this is the comment that made up my mind about watching…
Haha, so you think my interpretation of your username coupled with the comment that you posted renders my "memo" to be incredible? That is rather humorous to me.
How am I to know your whims or intent? My interpretation of what you present cannot be false - it is simply my take of what I see. Am I to perceive a kind and loving individual from what you have presented?
That you would choose such a username on a whim is incredible to me 😉
I learned of the drama called "The Double" by reading this and I will very likely watch it now.
I'm very impressed with this article. Its incredibly informative but not a lecture at all - that is difficult to do, especially considering the topic. Very well done.
I am so confused by Jennie's character because what do you mean you as a grown adult are thirsting after a literal…
I love Jennie - its too bad she is always playing the comic relief. I think all of that was actually to show us that Jennie and the other one are actually together bc they get all jelly about it despite there being literally no chance of anything coming from her crush even if it were legit. I truly think it was harmless over exaggeration without any real intent behind it.
I refuse to watch the Thai Addicted for the exact issue of grown adults with high school children so I understand.
This is a little bit of Thai cultural thing at play this time. I'm sure you've noticed "Angel Gang" type characters in many shows that blatantly hit on everyone they think attractive - often saying borderline sexual harassment type stuff but nobody bats an eye to it and meanwhile a long gaze between our hot jock and twinky leads is interpretated as overtly sexual. This is all third gender dynamics that really don't exist outside of Thailand. The easiest way to explain my understanding of the general Thai perception of third gendered people is that they are always passive. Thats the joke here actually. Ohm will never pick Jennie and Ohm would have to.
I can understand how you feel. Some of the scenes do seem to go on longer than necessary. I guess I don't mind…
I really like what they have done with Aim also - it rather absolves her character, she is dealing with the same thing that Phun is and that actually makes their relationship make more sense. Both of them were getting what they wanted out of the relationship with the status of it alone so they are really more like close friends than romantic partners - also lets them pretend they are those people and not who they actually are. Now they have an opportunity to even help each other come to terms with their own respective sexuality - thats so much better than the OG cheater plot.
I'm glad to see you like it. It does seem like a lot of us that have been around for awhile do really enjoy it - so I do realize there is a nostalgia element going on with this show but I really do think its quite well done in general.
I keep making this correlation between Progress and the actual progress the world has made in the 10 years since the OG. He chose that name and then became famous for playing a character that has already been played before - the differences between this Noh and the OG Noh is literally progress. The OG Noh was the Noh that could be in the world that was then and the Noh we have now is the Noh that can exist in the world that is now. The biggest difference between the OG Love Sick and 24 - is the world that they were released to and made for.
Progress. This is all very visible and very real progress.
what tf they’re so young… that’s why acting was a bit off. but charcter noh is portrayed a lot better but…
What you are noticing is the difference between the natural talents and the trained. Some Actors can train themselves to be as good as any natural talent but that takes time. These are HS age actors. For example, Progress is a natural, like measuring his acting skills, he is incredibly gifted - makes it appear effortless. Almond is talented but not as natural as Noh, so at times even tho his expressions are correct his delivery isn't as fluid as Noh so you can tell that he is acting - cut the kid some slack. Almond with 5 years acting experience will make that seem effortless also.
I didn't notice many unmatching scenes - I'm not sure exactly what you mean?
Some of the Directing is a bit cheesy, lots of long stares but in general I think this is fantastically done. The parallels are like a mic drop in many respects. This show is literally proof of how much Thailand, and the original Love Sick, changed the world in just a single decade.
I just commented about how I didn't think the kids behavior was all that off to me for them being teenagers and all but really all of this is very off from my teenage years. Its all very gay. Tho this seems kinda normal almost now, 11 years ago none of this existed in media at all. This show is showing us what I just said in so many ways.
The Director, Producers, Writers, Actors, Studio, IQIYI - everyone involved knew exactly how significant this Love Sick show was and is. I can see that.
Phun love aim so much that he's willing to essentially be "gay" to satisfy his sister so he can date his girlfriend…
Haha, reading your comment sounded like high school - which is perfect bc that is what the show is about, makes sense even. These are teenagers depicting teenagers as teenagers 😉 Empathy isn't really a very common teenage trait. None of the way these kids are treating each other has seemed off to me and many HS relationships end bc of someone else.
Any other stage of life all this is completely messed up but in HS - this is just a Tuesday.
I completely agree with you, princess Ning character is the worst, so childish and takes unnecessary time from…
I liked your suggestion of EB cut with less Princess Ning 🤣
I really felt like she was made and intended to be almost as annoying as possible - I kept expecting her to grow up or maybe care a little that she might die or her kingdom falls. She was exactly the same from the first episode to the 14th, where I dropped the show.
If they had kept her as a very limited side character she maybe could have been like this and had it not destroy the entire production but I completely with you - had her character been almost any other type of character it would have been fine.
Well, after watching Eternal Brotherhood - I wish they had left her character secondary. They made her a central…
I've heard good things about Dashing Youth - hopefully you enjoyed that one and all of its characters ;) I kinda ranted on the comment below yours - I didn't see your reply til now.
I understand your and even JoySum's points but... I don't want to see EB2. I have half of EB1 to watch - I stopped mid episode, in the middle of a scene even.
I would believe you if you told me that the Director actually hated her and was trying to ruin her career.
Well, after watching Eternal Brotherhood - I wish they had left her character secondary. They made her a central…
Badly written character? She plays a character that has the mentality of a preteen girl but is actually an adult Princess - the Heir Apparent even. Its ridiculous - everything about her character is ridiculous. She shows up in the story after the lead gets essentially banished to a nowhere posting - she shows up in a carriage with her maid servant... wtf?
They did a whole multi episode bit about her whining that she never gets to leave bc life is so hard but, prior to that, I don't think she left her bedroom more than once, she did have a point. Then she shows up in the wilderness - twice, just to have some silly fun.
She is not only annoying, her character is absurd and the idea of her as a monarch - that country is screwed. Her character derails the entire story, a story I would never have stopped in the middle were she just a normal person or a normal princess or even a Disney princess - not a princess that ought to be institutionalized.
Fr tho - how could anyone be attracted to somebody so nonsense - acting like a 9 year old at 19 is not cute. I don't want to think the Lead loves her, that makes me feel bad for him. Who was target demographic for that character?
I'm sorry that the Director and writers did her so dirty with this role bc it was the first I seen her in and her image is akin to nails on a chalkboard now. I almost think they intended to do that it was so effectively done.
This is a button and I'm clearly still upset about it.
This show is so well done. This fills in a lot of ZQL story and just the immensity of it and what Wu Xie really is to him - its filled a lot in for me. The story was quite good. I enjoyed the cast a lot in this one.
I really like Chen Ming Hao as Pang Zi, he is that character to me - I liked that they had an older Wu Xie considering their interactions in this series. I loved Edward as Wu Xie. Edward is a phenomenal actor and he delivered such a fantastic performance that I can't imagine anyone else playing this Wu Xie anymore - he completely convinced me. I kno the role is always recast - its like the series thing but if Edward were to reprise his role as Wu Xie I wouldn't be upset. I really liked Kang Le's ZQL also - he is a little smiley sometimes but he is one of my favorite ZQLs in general. I liked both of the Zhangs. I even liked Feng and Hans and it isn't very often that westerners are likeable in Chinese media but Feng was really not a bad character at all.
This was very good and ranks high out of the series for me. I will rewatch for sure - there were a lot of little things in this one that mattered.
Now I understand why the script has so many holes. So it turns out that YW wrote the script? I tried to watch…
There are literally writers listed on this page - just scroll up a bit, you can see them.
I've seen very, very bad series... this is not one. Now I am biased - I love YinWar but this show is easy to like regardless. I've said this already but I'll say again - the show is about a romance between a Bangkok Robin Hood, master of disguise and a good bad guy. Maybe, just maybe, your taking this a little too seriously.
I have been watching this on YouTube in English...suddenly English is not available...but I see Arabic....so strange...Arabic?............most…
C'mon - you have the most American sounding name with this most American of comments.
There are 2 billion Muslims - I'm certain some of them are gay. If the old 1/10 rate demographers have claimed to be the approximate % of the population that is queer is a human trait and not simply a societal trait than there would 200 million LGBTQ Muslims - a population 2/3 the size of the United States, the third most populous country on earth.
Arabic is only spoken by about 500 million people but it is one of the most used languages on the internet, hence the subs.
This show. I've only seen episode one. I can already understand the "sketch show" comments - I don't kno that I hate it tho. Tbh the format allows for almost anything - I wouldn't be surprised if we see more stuff like this in the future.
I want to point out that this show was huge in Thailand and Thailand did rather quickly legalize gay marriage after this show. I'm not saying there is a direct correlation but it would be foolish to think that this show didn't have an impact on making that happen. NuNew is one of the most influential people in BL right now and it is rather well deserved if you look into him at all - he is an incredible person.
Love or hate Cutie Pie its not a terrible show. Its very well polished - the production quality, the sets/locations, the clothes, the actors, everything is top tier. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but there are far worse things we could be watching than this.
Yes it's not. Not everything is bl and this is a very good series even though it's not bl
Ok, there exists far, far, far, far, far more content made that is truly not BL than there is actual BL - so you are correct not everything is BL. In fact the vast majority of media is not BL... most of it not made with a BL cast tho. Its not like this is a show with a BL actor - this show has two well known and established BL ships in its cast.
I said this last week but here I say it again: why the hell does Yin look so handsome? What happened?
You couldn't see it the whole time?!? The first time he really smiled at War in Love Mechanics I didn't wonder about War's character's choices after that - you couldn't have paid me in University to stay away from Yin if he had smiled at me like that 😉
Rain thinks he likes Ple but she is obsessed with Payu, so Rain becomes curious of Payu right from start and bc he also is a legend at the faculty - turns he is the handsome man who changed his tire in the rain.
