Secrets we keep, hearts we break!!
Some stories thrive on a well-crafted plot and others are driven by the complexity of their imperfect characters. This is one of those stories that fit the second category. The characters aren’t flawless heroes or simple villains - they are messy, flawed and deeply humane. Their struggles aren’t always clear-cut and their growth isn’t easy or linear. In fact, it’s their imperfections, their emotional baggage and their internal conflicts that make the story stand out. These kinds of characters don’t always give you the answers you want, but they challenge you to think deeper and understand that growth isn’t always pretty.

This drama had a lot of potential. The premise and the whole concept seemed fresh and the idea of a dark mystery mixed with suspense had a lot of promise. But, honestly, the show ended up being way slower than expected and the pacing really hurt it. What could have been an exciting ride just felt like it dragged on for way too long.

And I agree YR was brilliant! And also his visuals are no joke 🔥
I haven't read the novel /webtoon but I will be sad if they give me a sad ending or make Daon together with any of his oppa's because both are crazy !
I hope he and sunflower become the end game! 😭❤️
So I watched the damn episode and I wanted to do "while watching" rant and i couldn't make myself it because ... ! (You will know once to watch the ep)
The start of the episode told me this is gonna be a wild ride and it was !!
First thing first, Prince Daon needs to realise how he is bringing men to the yard and get out of that "I am good for no one mindset" because people be dying out there *literally* 😂
Kim Su Hyeon, the toxic oppa! I will fight anyone who says he isn't a red flag because not only he has anger issues, hot toxic oppa doesn't understand consent, boundaries or the difference between love and obsession! This Man Needs Help and once he gets we can talk about the color of the flag! Not even for 1 second in the episode, I felt sympathy for him! Nope. Nada.
Ju Seong Hyeon aka Puppy oppa! Aaaaah! Sunflower I love you and the loserism , but I wouldn't have minded him taking a step back. Like damn self respect who!!?? 😂 I am not disappointed because he is coming from a good place but Daon has dragged into this mess. Lmao I just feel sorry for him!
And now, let's talk about Jaemin Hyung!! I’m usually an optimistic person, but honestly, I don’t think he can be helped anymore 😂 The actor is doing an amazing job portraying the character because by the end of the episode, I was straight-up enraged by the audacity and stupidity!
If I were Daon, I would have left immediately and just let things play out, because… (I know sounds harsh but manipulating someone to that extent and then when caught , trying to again play games by slashing yourself, and showing ZERO regret? Yeah, no redemption in my book.)
I am amazed how this show shows so much in like 30 minutes! I don't feel the pace is rushed or slow ! Past and present are getting equal attention and all the characters have strong development ( good or bad ) and they ain't falt and boring !
Also, tha k you for explaining your points in detail and disagreeing so respectfully! 🫰🏻♥️
But I disagree with the part , that the show never promised from the beginning because they did. >>>
1. The title of the show is The boy next world. To me it was a clear indication of them exploring the topic of parallel timelines.
2. The tags - The first is thriller and second is romance so I was expecting romance to secondary subplot that drives the whole parallel universe concept and not the other way around. Also there is a fantasy tag too which imho seemed underutilized.
3. When they introduced multiple Cir ( the one with scar and the one in black) that story plot wasn't handled with details at all. I still have so many questions as to why/when/ how/where.
It seemed like they had an idea but forgot about it and by the time they realise it was too late.
The execution for me , was messy.
Or maybe I had high expectations with the premise and my rating reflects the disappointment. 😅
The drama was disappointing dive into unfinished realities. It had all the right ideas but honestly, it missed the mark in a big way. The whole concept of parallel universes and shifting timelines sounded interesting at first, but instead of exploring those alternate reality possibilities, the show spends way too much time on the love story part which didn't land well for me either.
The writing felt all over the place and by the last episode I wondered if this could just have been a university BL and worked better instead of this mess of an over-ambitious multiverse project.

This drama is one of those feel-good, easy watches that you turn to when you just want to unwind, not necessarily for a gripping plot, but for the overall vibe. The story itself is very simple, but that’s part of its appeal. There’s nothing deeply profound about it but somehow, it manages to lift your spirits with its lighthearted energy. At its core, it tells a familiar love story, but it does so with such tenderness and warmth that it became a comforting escape for me.
It’s about self-discovery, the importance of learning to love yourself before we can fully embrace someone else.

Glad you liked it ✨
You know that mafia thingy was just not needed! The leads had good chemistry and acted well. I agree they could have fleshed it out more!
Thame Po - My roman empire!
Some dramas aren’t just stories, they feel like home. You settle in with the characters like you are sinking into the warmth of a familiar chair, surrounded by memories and unspoken feelings. You laugh with them, cry with them and at times, you feel as if you are living through their pain and joy. The emotions are not just shown, but deeply felt.
Thame Po was all the above for me. Yes, the story was predictable and cliché at times but somehow the execution is done almost right. It's a romcom that feels familiar but fresh, somehow reminding me why I love these types of plots in the first place.

Honestly, anti reset wasn't perfect and had flaws but atleast they showed bit more tech than here.
At one point i thought ever 4 was more expensive than any human in the series and that says alot 😂
