Yeah I agree, I'm not necessarily against Lengthy dramas as a rule, I watch also Telenovelas and Turkish dramas , those tend to be like 60 - 160 episodes lol.
Yet I'm not bored by them. They paced it all better.


Queen of Tears however, the lengthy format didn't suit.
There wasn't enough story to justify it, and the Filler sceens just ended up burying the interesting parts of the story 😅🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm reminded of my favorite turkish drama where 160+ eps felt just enough and was NEVER bored because Excellent pacing.
One could wtach 10 Episodes like a breeze. "Where did the time go?? Did I just watch 10 eps AGAIN?!?"

vs Queen of Tears which is shorter, just watching 1 EPISODE felt like TORTURE from being toooo slooooow

Ep 8 - 16. Deserves 7.5 /10

The 2nd half is where the somewhat interesting story starts.

Final rating: 6.5 or 7.0


Somewhere along the way there was a story somewhat worth watching, but WHY DID I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 2ND HALF TO FIND IT?!?

.....Also 90% of drama was FILLER SCENES, drama suffered PACING ISSUES FROM HELL,
So any interesting story GOT BURIED beneath being BORED OUT OF MY MIND 90% Of the time.

DRAMA SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN 1,5h eps, it made it mostly just filler!!!


So:

+2nd half story
+ 2nd lead's romance
+ The Lovable Aunt
+ The story of Spouses learning to love each other again
+ Rich & poor family Stuck together in funny scenes and learning to get along and bond

- Pacing
- Episode length
- The story of Spouses learning to love ecah other again getting BURIED between all the useless Scenes and pacing issues and becoming Unrealistic when mixed with all the Makjang

I only finished it last night by quick binging with X2 Speed, JUST for the Second Leads's Romance and for Kim Ji Won's great acting lol


The 2nd half was better, and somewhere there was on Okaish story starting since ep8,
BUT it all got ruined by ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE PACING FROM HELL.

I mean 90% of the drama was just FILLER scenes!!!

The drama had NO BUSINESS having 1,5 hour eps!!!

Should've been 45 minute episodes (yes not even 1h!!), and 10-12 eps, MOST SCENES SHOULD'VE BEEN CUT AWAY!!!

She's completely unrecognicable! Wtf!

I doubt they care about the childish sentiments of ridiculous stans,
most people will enjoy it as a Story from 60s to present day, I suggest you calm down

Ooh I like that 4 ep weekly schedule. Imo it's better than just all eps at once, leads to people discussing and speculating longer rather than just binge without speculations.

At the same time, 4 eps instead if just the normal 2 keeps people not waiting too long.

Your expectations of them as Nonstop leads are unreasonable.

In a story spanning from 60s all the way to the Present day, how can the leads realistically be portrayed by the same actors???
Actually it's even bit a stretch to only have 2 sets of actors potraying 60 years of story, be happy they didn't insert a 3rd set of actors playing the leads....

Realism before actor biases please....

This drama is for various ages!

Millenials, GenX and Older will enjoy the 20th century nostalgia and remininescing own youth during /remember & relive those own experiences with the decades, GenZ and younger who weren't alive yet in 20th century (or older GenZ who were too young during 2000s to remember much) will enjoy it as Youth & historical story, Middle aged people will enjoy the Middle Aged versions of the leads.


I have a feeling this will be a Hit.....

Not sure I'm liking who they cast as older Middle Aged versions of ML & FL, I mean they don't even remotely resemble IU & Bogum lol, neither in face structure nor manner....But I'll guess I'll cope, they'll have to make up for it with good veteran acting...

Melodrama Romance, Revenge + Rom, Action + Rom, Fantasy/Scifi Rom.

I dislike slice of life, prefer more makjang.

Melodrama + slice of life tends to be boring (Well it depends, One Spring Night is a 10/10 drama),

Majkang or Revenge inserted into Melo works better for me.


This drama so far isn't majkang enough.

I'd rather they go full Makjang or more Realistic relatable characters (no chaebols!) or have the chaebols but more dramatic twists.

So far this is between Slice of life and Makjang in a very boring way.....


Apparantly it goes more majkang later on , maybe I'll like it more....
But why is 1st half so boring...

At least Marry My Husband had funny comedy at start before going more makjang com, this is just boring slice of life so far.....

There's a severe lack of twists and turns so far....
