I understand it can feel that way as a fan of JCW. I think this is one of those dramas were you need to be a huge fan of the FL to enjoy it, since the plot is centered around her.
JCW and SHS are BOTH my biases, so really enjoyed this one. But I think if they cast someone I didn't like so much as FL, I'd be annoyed like you and wish for more JCW-Centered plot.

I know right, usually crying in kdramas is so over the top loud and PHONY, here they were actually crying 😂

What comes to mind is that one famous turkish actor caught up in drugs too (shall not be named, to avoid people shaming him, he needed help too), but Netflix not only never cancelled him but keep giving him most lead roles on their turkish orginal shows LMAO. AS THEY SHOULD.
Turkey is also a very conservative country, but beyond the initial backlash that lasted not too long, noone is cancelling him, just like it should be.
