Including a taste of darkness & death in works is a way to reach the deepest parts of being human, through tragedy, thus making people think deeply about themsleves and life. Developing a taste for it is a way for some writers to deepen their writing. Just FYI from an aspiring writer with writer friends. I feel sorry for your beliefs limiting the scope of what you'll allow yourself to watch/read/experience, it means you'll miss out! I'm sure KES isn't including devil & death etc. in her works because she actually likes either/agrees with/worships either. She's likely trying to emotionally affect that vulnerable part of us humans more.
This is how people who dress goth & listen to darker music get accused of being "devil-worshippers", when in reality vast majority (only few exceptions & those exceptions tend to be crazy) HAVE NOTHING to do with any devil; and just enjoy the feeling of aliveness and realistic negativity it brings to notice darker feelings & remain melancholy, and being truthful & sympatehtic to others who also feel how messed up the world is (or some are just sad or some simply like the dressing style).
Writing about death, is a purposeful way to awaken a deep sadness within us, an existential crisis, to make the viewer/reader think deeply about the meaning of existence. Nothing to do with actually liking death, devil, darkness; but a method to reach in us what it means to be human
To make us live with more purpose. Sometimes (&or alot of the times!) watching/reading about death, darkness, devil etc. can ironically even deepen our sympathy for others and open up our hearts. Please don't misunderstand that including darker things shows evil intent of writer. Quite the OPPOSITE actually.
And please don't try to be too romantic or nostalgic or contemplative. I would like a thriller part well written.
Each to their own I guess lol, I personally prefer more deep & contemplative style. Different genres can be combined, it can lso include great thriller, 1 does not automatically erase the other you know?

The plot summary sounds like there will be a triangle/square though, but I'm really hoping is the LOW-KEY kind where Song Ho Jun is the obvious love interest/lead with Jihyo, the rest only one-sided crushing on her or only-shortlived unserious triangle or plotting by others/misunderstanding/outside circunstances ONLY WAY for other men to have a shot at her heart, and NOT that she actually LIKES SEVERAL men!!!

This drama gives strong Madame Antoine (with Han Ye Seul) vibes, I like it! (except added in fantasy and no romance) Especially FL role is very similar and highly CHARMING like MadameAntoine; from watching the trailer, cant wait! <3

Yeah the description of character here is that he carries alot of emotional scars, usually I really fall hard for that type of character, but knowing it's LMH acting, I'm afraid this time I won't since he likely won't be able to portray all the deep hurts and emotional nuances well enough.....
Can I hope to be wrong though & that he's dramatically improved, I don't have high hopes though

I've been dropping dramas left & right alot lately, this is the one drama that actually ISN'T dragging & actually enjoyable to watch lol! Tsk tsk please aqcuire better taste!!

You should know that KGE in Goblin was her WORST character! Watch her her movies & CheeseInTheTrap, it was the CHARACTER of Euntak that didnt suit her & was annoying.

(But liked her in other roles) This time KGE will be a cool detective & a criminal in pararell world (Roles she also plays much better/better fit for her acting, if you watch her other projects) , sounds so much better than a highschooler tween with a shallow fake cutesy voice & manner.
They havent revealed much about the story imo to make it clear whethher it will be interesting, sounds unigue though
The plot sounds like they aim some kind of passionate & hot love-hate type of thing between the leads. Unhealthy yet addicting passion? Plus it's LJK + MCH ! Interesting!
