Girl you are comparing a Netflix series to a fairly unknown production company. Where would they get so much money? Also you are nitpicking way too much. For the budget the show looks absolutely beautiful. Yes the dubbing isn’t that great but that’s like a thing in most Chinese shows.. also the series gets better and better.. first 3 eps are just the starting.. EP 4 onwards it starts getting better and better..

We are actually not supposed to like Fan Xiao right now coz what he did so far should land him in jail lmao.. so I totally get what you are saying! But as you said the story is interesting and they don’t treat these heavy topics as joke… Shulang's world turned upside down due to the SA incident and the show as well as the novel doesn’t take it as a joke. That’s why I think it’s a better story for people who can’t behind morally black characters coz some of these shows treat such characters in a very lax way and there is hardly any redemption…

So true… I hate it too. Su Er Liang created such dynamic characters with these two. I just don’t like how people label Shulang as a red flag just coz he beat the shit out of his abuser. That’s not a red flag at all. We need to rewrite the definition of red flags.

At least the author still preserved Shulang boss attitude towards the end.. I love how he punishes Shulang whenever he does something wrong..

It has a red flag ML like those two shows.. so you might not like the starting of the show.. but the novel actually has one of the best wife chasing arc and redemption arc.. so I think you should give it a try. Plus the production quality is chef’s kiss. Several scenes look like paintings and the BGM is striking.. there is a sort of spiritual air to it.

They are perfect for switches but In CBL they kinda don’t like switches.. I feel like Fan Xiao would agree to bottom for Shu Lang based on the dynamic they have specially towards the end of the novel.

Shulang never turns into red flag.. He gives back everything that Fan Xiao deserves for all the nasty things he did..
