Wow, I watched a couple of episodes of Who are You, but I clicked on this article, and I didn't even recognize him O.o Goes to show, how much dying your hair, or wearing it different, changes your look...I need to get my eyes tested :P
The first episode was weak, save for Kim Tae Hee, but I hope it gets better. I rely on plot, so when the camera is focusing on showboating a character - it always makes me lose interest, because we're meant to go "wow" but all I think is, "too much time is wasted on this - do they literally have to spend 10 mins on him doing surgery, to show what a competent doctor he is...." It's taking valuable time away from storytelling (fair enough, if it's a long-standing series like ER or Grey's Anatomy.) Also, that scene with the interns...another 10 mins wasted....and all I got from that, is "he's cool. He's so cool, he can make interns shake, and in fact, if you missed it the first time HE'S COOL." That's great - but how is that scene beneficiary in moving the plot forward? Filler material already...
*That said, I will still watch dramas with Daniel Choi/Han Hyo Joo in it...No actor has yet earned complete abstinence from me...I embrace them all, LOL. Except maybe Kim Hyun Joong...
lol, poor sukkie. He's a better actor than Park Shin Hye, but at least she redeemed herself somewhat with Pinocchio. All her role selections since Staiway to Heaven/Tree of Heaven have been poor, and Heirs was the absolute worst. But I suppose he's chosen even worst roles - the same kind over and over again. PMY was actually good in Healer, and I'm not just saying that. But I suppose if you're biased from the outset, it will still linger, no matter what :P I suppose I'm more forgiving. I don't hold actors accountable for previous performances - I am always willing to give a drama a go, because I don't look at the actors first, but the plot. But there are actors I'm wary of like Daniel Choi and Han Hyo Joo...lol, maybe I should start a blacklist of my own! That'll be fun :)
I disagree with Jang Geun Suk. He's a very talented actor, but has unfortunately been typecasted to play pretty boys. I don't think that's his fault. Park Min Young. She isn't that bad, I would actually say she's good. Tiffany Hsu...I've only seen her in the ISWAK series as a secondary character...she did nothing to offend me. Others I can't comment on, or I agree with.
I've seen a lot of blacklists. Yours is the only one I've seen, that has roughly an equal mixture of men and women. I think another one I saw, included one man. I actually PM'ed a well known user on this site (about why her blacklist only contained females...I was a little disappointed in her) - and she just responded with a LOL! I can't explain why...it's just that I do. Frankly, I think they're just hard on the women, because they like looking at eye candy, and ogle them. Hypocritical at best. How can they give a man a free pass just for his looks?
I would give acting 10/10. Plot: 5/10. Because when it's en pointe, it's actually awesome, but when it lags, you really are aware of it. Are they switching writers? Is it the same writer throughout? It's quite unusual to encounter a writer, that can hit the mark, but miss so often too.
It's the best korean drama I've watched for a while (since 2011, that I managed to complete, and not put on "hold")...omo. How sad is that? I loved the Dragon and Secretary Tak's fondness for getting his butt slapped, and the brilliant chemistry between Jang Na Ra and Jang Hyuk. I believe it also gives extra poignancy to people who've watched "Successful Story of a Bright Girl" because some of the lines here about missing each other and reconnecting...it was like the actors were saying it from the heart themselves. About how they missed working with each other, and it was a pleasure to do it again. Although there are several scenes worth skipping (artfully dodged!), I have to give this 10/10, even though the plot is so so cliche and has everything from amnesia to noble idiocy. Great drama! I'm going to write a review for it! (But I'll probably just copy and paste this :D)
I wish people would stop acting like Healer is a godsend to the viewing public, because although it was a good drama, it was jam-packed with cliches as much as the next drama. City Hunter is a little similar, but at least, I was more invested in the action. Healer is more romance based.
I'm DONE with this drama seriously ! I went until ep 9 and I never seen in my entire drama life experience so…
Eps 5 to 9 are weak in terms of character development, and so is the majority of episode 10. It improves after that, but you have to just ignore all the plot holes/things that don't make sense, and go along with the ride....it's more awesome then! I'm enjoying my time with Mask, and so are many others (I hope)
Where did Min Woo's germaphobia suddenly disappear? I mean there are still some little hints of it but it's like…
That's why they're caricatures. All their qualities are so exaggerated (more than normal makjang standard), I've long given up seeing them as characters. And when I see the main cast interacting with them, I just can't take them seriously...especially Seok Hoon...he becomes a caricature by association. BUT...I'm enjoying Ji Sook's change of character and the cliffhangers, so that's keeping me around! :) It's still the best drama of 2015 I've watched yet...
Park Bo Young is nailing Kim Seul Gi's delivery. Her exact intonation, the dialect is just like Kim Seul Gi's, which indicates good acting and research on her part. Both female leads are killing it, so I don't have a preference for either one :P Just that their unique blend, brings lots of LOLs!
Yay Bong-sun is finally back! I was starting to miss her, I want to see more of her.
I will like to see how Bong Sun will react to all the drama Soon Ae's left behind :P Suddenly, the contrasts between their characters I greatly appreciate :D Can't wait for episode 5!

Another thing that's bothering me more than it should, are those two loan sharks. They've become caricatures of themselves, they are actually destroying my "willing suspension of disbelief" thus making it hard for me to see this story as "realistic" as absurd as that sounds. They get paid off by Seok Hoon, but miraculously seem to follow him and his lackey at all the "key" moments, and suss "everything" out, which is extraordinary because they're too stupid to live. Looks like they're getting buried alive though...so hopefully they won't be in future episodes!
It's worth watching the first 9 episodes for the child cast alone. I don't regret it one bit. But it's one of those scenarios, they do such a good job, you just can't connect with the adult cast at all...
Ep 1 is a bit awkward during the romance parts, but ep 2 picks up the pace considerably. They should try to keep…
Trouble? Me? *looks around*
I'm a mellow dude - honest! It's just that I like debating over dramas I'm currently watching, and I haven't found a suitable sparring partner as of yet! I've missed you too! Where have you been? Busy with exams/life/watching dramas etc etc? Should we move this conversation over to PM? I don't want to be clogging up this message board more than necessary.
