The title itself is not my cup of tea. I got curious with its high ratings. Like, I'm thinking it has a good dose of romance. So, upon checking it out. Yes, it started strong in terms of romance. Specially, on the Teacher's story. I think I am more hooked on their story than anybody else. For the main FL Se Yun, the only thing that got me hooked to her story is after learning the twist that she's the "real" mistress and not the one she assumes she's the one being cheated on. Well, technically, she was lied on, not particularly cheated on. I was kinda looking forward on the romance development between the Psychiatrist and her ex lover's son. but, it wasn't given emphasis. the ending was just okay but, like I said the romance aspect was kinda bit lacking towards the end. Sang Hoon's torture was quite stretched too long. didn't liked that. And yeah, if this was based on a true story, it really is so sad to know that there are fathers who would go as far sa hurting and killing their own child just for money. The harsh truth of reality. Overall, this is just a 7.5 for me. If I'm into crime, mystery I would have enjoyed this. But, I only watch for romance, so yeah, this ain't for me.
Am not so into Psycho Infidelity kind of romance, gave this a shot though as I would like to see its difference with Cdramas in terms of marriage issues drama. This one gave a realistic vibe, but as expected with Jdramas, it has a dark vibe on it. The antagonist Rina is definitely a nut case. Probably, her husband is partly to blame with the bullying she experienced, sadly, it was irrepairable for the 2 of them. But based on the flashback, it was Rina's enviousness that triggered her obssession with the ML. I felt sad for the kids who has to suffer. Still, the ML is definitely not the ideal husband you'll want to have. Cheating is still cheating, there's no excuse on that. For the FL, she's not ideal either, but why is it always that she seem to be the bad girl when the husband was the first one who cheated, like why can't a wife cheat back for revenge?!!! Like come on, like it always feels that men are entitled to cheat and women can't. Anyways, I also feel sad for the FL's bestie Haruta, like he seems have feelings for her but kept it to not ruin her marriage. Overall, this is just an okay drama for those into this type of genre. Only thing I liked here, karma was served for the characters who deserve it. It's a 7 for me.
I rarely watch Jmovies, but decided to check this out. I thought it was an interesting start to watch a beautiful FL who doesn't go for looks in a guy and fell in love because of his kindness. Then, it followed that I was completely amazed buy a guy's motivation to transform himself to a better person for the lady he loves. Then here comes the ending that I thought I was grabbing all the situation and left me all empty handed instead. Like, WHAT THE HECK is that ending?!! It totally got me confused. Thinking that the chubby Takkun and the hot good looking Takkun was just one person and only transformed...turns out to be 2 different persons and was completely played on by this deceiving FL. I feel sad for both men and for the biatch FL hope she gets her karma. It's a 6.0 for me. I didn't like that even the story I am watching is quite being played on just like the FL. This is generous enough just to see how hot Matsuda Shota is.
Gave this drama a shot though I'm not into Psychological dramas. I find the leads interesting. FL looked like Yoon Eun Hye of Korea. 2ML, though with a disturbing character has this charm. And of course, the most likeable character in this drama is the ML. The traumatic pasts of the FL and 2ML gave them the character of what they have become as a result of being treated badly by their own families. I did understand how they have been attached to each other as they found shelter to their emotions on having someone to be with on their difficult moments. That's why I really felt sad on the ML's character, that he has to accept the remaining attachment lingering between the 2ML and his wife. Overall, this is just an okay drama. Still, I find the skinships and the romantic attachment of the leads lacking. Like, the FL spent more time with 2ML.Gave this a 7 for a somehow happy ending.
Currently at ep. 21 and I think am gonna drop this from this part after the wedding. This drama started interesting, got me hooked specially when Zhang He appeared as the very handsome Marshal. Both leads are visually stunning. But, the FL's character just gets annoying as it progresses. The romance is just too weak. Only the ML shows authentic feelings towards FL. She seems just too pathetic, specially on scenes with her cousin on the early parts of the drama. The kisses are just too bland for a republican drama. And yeah, with all the cliché of always having annoying spoiled brat supporting female character who clings with ML. Also the unending family clash revenge is quite annoying . Overall, you'll watch this just for the ML. It's a 6.5 for me.
Just completed the drama. First, I liked the idea of coinciding the contemporay story plot to historical and vice versa. I prefer this idea than time travel tropes. It's my first time to watch the leads. Definitely the chemistry was there. FL looks cute, ideal for the role. The ML is just okay too. Second thing that I liked, this is one of the rare historical concept drama with lots of kisses, specifically on melodramas. For the downside, I simply didn't like FL's character on the historical aspect. She's too self-centered and spoiled. Like, she assumes she's always the boss just because all these royalty men were so into her. I just don't like that she never knows how to compromise. And yeah, I was kinda hoping she would have a child after being reincarnated. For the ML and the rest of the supporting males, I'm just not a fan or reverse harem tropes. Like, I'd rather have a Love triangle trope than almost of all the men are into the FL. And seriously, they're all crazy obssessed with FL and not simply admiration. I also didn't like that the supporting men didn't have their happy endings because of their obssession with FL. And lastly, the final scene on the modern trope just didn't give a romantic vibe on it. Plus the ML's hairstyle, like, can't you give him a bit of a glowup, at least a CEO look vibe. Given said that, it's a 7.5 for me. I still find it too long. I believe around 32 eps. would be enough. Oh yeah, the forced happy ending didn't quite fit. Like who would be reincarnated in a span of around 4yrs, with full memory intact. At least Cuyen was reincarnated with a 20 year gap, By the way, Cuyen kinda reminded me of Jungkook of BTS. He kinda resemble him. Overall, this is an okay drama for a historical with not so heavy drama.
This was long sitting in my Plan to Watch list. Decided to give it a go. Another typical comedy Jdrama with all the acting exaggerations. My 2nd time to watch ML. I find him cute but the acting seem just lacking. Same goes with the FL. Her lack of expression makes her character more dull. Like, come on, being tagged with a romance genre, with no kisses and skinships and the only thing you can hold for the romance are the expression of their feelings yet, still lacking. The story is so predictable that made me lose interest in the crime mystery aspect of the drama. Overall, I got bored and the only character that got me hooked in this drama is Death Prince. He's more likeable than ML I think. It's a 6.5 for me.
I'm not a manga reader so, I'm not sure if this drama wasn't just well presented or is it the story itself that got me confused at all?!! It got me hooked on ep.1. Like the story was absolutely interesting at first. I really thought this was just another case of soul swapping but it isn't. Midway towards the end kinda felt drag and yeah, the confusion sets in. I'm trying to understand that it's like Mari is a schizo. That komori's partial soul went into her's and the real Mari inside was asleep, then went out and shut out Komori's soul in the end. It's like she absorbed Komori's soul or did Komori raped Mari on the tunnel that made his consciousness went into Mari's body? Not even sure who Fumiko was, that liitle kid? and was Mari the one who really liked Yori and not Kumori? And because the story plot was all messed up for me, I gave it a 4. Just to be fair, I don't think this should be R rated, since there was no actual nudity & violence presented compared to other Jdramas I've seen so far.
Another dark themed Jdrama. I'm really not in to Psycho drama but checked this out because of the ML. This is a wasted potential for me. I'm okay with the revenge plot. But, I felt nothing has been justified at all till the end. Like, still it was Mayuko who lost everything till the end including her physical being. Yuri didn't get punished at all with all the nasty things she did. She even got away from everything by doing the accident suicide. I even hate Ryoichi for knowing FL's revenge but not knowing how a Psycho biatch is his wife. I also hate FL's character from the start. I hate her from always giving in to Yuri. Like she knows from childhood that something's wrong with Yuri yet still befriended her. I mean she should have told Ryoichi what Yuri has all done from the past, He might have helped her. The grooming is just very disturbing, it's like making your biological son your lover. Overall, it's a 5 for me.
Go ahead and read "Kuzu no Honkai decor", that's the ending that drama didn't cover
Oh, I'm not really into reading. I just watch dramas and rate them according to how it was presented. So it doesn't matter for me if a story is better in the book or drama. Thanks for the info though.
Another realistic representation of life. I really liked the concept of this drama. It reminded me of other Jdramas like Tokyo Love Story and Love and Fortune. I think J writers are good at this. They are able to showcase how it is in reality. That not all have fairytale like ending story...that not everyone can have that handsome CEO who'll marry you and treat you like a princess that we most see in dramas. Another good thing about this drama is that, it is like a short mini series, so it's a bit fast to complete the entire drama. Have watched the FL from other Jdramas. Good acting I should say. I just feel sad at the same time admire her character. I feel sad about her struggles in finding her Mr. Right. I guess, one factor is sometimes we expect so highly in a partner that sometimes you'll miss the good one. Just like it was presented here. The very first guy she met in Tokyo should've been her great potential partner but she let go because of her aspirations. But, what I admire about her is her composure. Like she never confronted the men in her life in an angry manner, afterall being cheated or ghosted. And yeah, sadly, another harsh reality are those type of men presented. Like, they do really exist in reality. Some will pretend that they care but they just actually care about themselves. And yes, there are men who shall we say aren't that good looking but have the audacity to cheat on their women. Though, regardless of their looks, cheating is just a no no. Overall, i give this an 8. truly deserves a higher rating. I just can't give higher enough as I'm not satisfied with the guy the FL ended with. Plus, this was made a bit wholesome. So, the kisses and skinships were kinda missed out.
This is one of the few Jmelodrama that got me hooked from ep. 1. The story plot is quite predictable or a bit clichê, but I really like how this drama ended. I guess, the noona romance is one big factor that I liked in this drama. And yes, I liked the maturity of the relationship. A bit lacking on kisses but you can feel their love for each other everytime they're together. Another good thing in this drama is the character development of the 2FL technically, partly the antagonist. And the relationship of the son with his gf was quite cute as well. Overall, this drama deserves a higher rating. It's an 8.0 for me. This is recommendable for those who prefer mature relationships, nothing cutesie which is the big plus of this drama.
Just completed this drama. Am not a fan of both leads, acting wise they somewhat did a good job. For the PROS: I liked the FL is a badass. Like she really fight so well, literally. ML is not ideal but his devotion towards FL remained the same from start to end. The ending is just so so for me, though it's a happy one. And yeah, at least there was once a kiss scene, not a total zero skinship drama. For the CONS: This drama is just dragged too long. Like there are so many dull moments that I have to skip specially midway. Some loose plots like how did Ding Ruo survived death from her pregnancy bleeding where it was clearly showned she died and the next ep or 2 Li hua is saving her from being raped again. Another thing is FL's character. She was okay in the beginning but kinda felt off for me midway when she started having her sense of pride and selfishness. Like there was a scene where ML was framed of raping her evil former assistant and FL believed that instead of trusting her husband. Like what the heck happened to their pledge loyalty of love?!!! And refusing to be an Empress yet she's been so into serving her country and will take it back afterwards. So many injustices that the crime doer was not even merely punished. And yeah, I kinda look forward for Ding Ruo and Lin Hua's eldest brother to rekindle their love but never did happen. So overall, it's a 7.5 for me. Generous enough for not letting ML die till the end, If you're into historical political drama, you'll get to enjoy this, but for romance, it's just not a feel good for me, honestly. Probably, lots of good characters died in the drama including MC's son and family members.
Another disturbing Jdrama I've watched I must say. I mean, why is it a trend in Jdrama writers to write Psychopath characters. Like, this is the 2nd Jdrama that I've watched that the antagonist is obviously a Psycho yet was forcedly given a character development. Like, come on, that would never happen in reality. Obviously, A pychiatric help is needed for both antagonist sisters. And speaking of sister, obviously there was a crime made yet, she remained unpunished. Like do they know the definition of right justice? or is it really just a blind eye?!!! Definitely not a fan as well of the weakling ML and a SML that is simply for decoration. Yeah, not to mention the cliche of accident pretending amnesia. First time to watch the leads. they're quite cute as a couple but definitely not their characters. I've been annoyed most of the time specially with the Psychos. Overall, gave this a 6.5 for the forced happy ending. But not recommendable honestly, unless if you're into some Psycho stuff.
Not a single character is likeable in this drama. Like the psycho husband should have taken psychiatric treatment with his mom. Excessive OCD needs treatment. Not to mention his reasons for not touching his wife for 3 yrs is simply because of a snore. Such a lame excuse! The FL also is not an ideal character here. Like she could have gone thru a divorce first instead of having all those affairs. And her biatch friends that I don't see worth continuing for till the end. Then, the ML who's almost likeable but have another weirdo mother. Overall, this is just a drama with lots of intimacy but not a feel good I must say. It's a 7 for me.
One of the rare extreme long drama that I got hooked from ep. 1. The story plot is really good. It's my first time to watch the entire cast except for 2FL Mi Shu whom I've seen in several historical dramas doing same roles as an Empress/concubine. FL did really nailed her role. The transition of romance is quite interesting, given FL was involved with 3 men. The children actors here were also cute and good. The 3 ML also did great with their roles. The only downside for me aside from this being too long. The romance definitely lack skinships and kisses. So, if you're into that like me, this ain't the drama for you. Totally zero kisses, that is if you consider kiss on the cheek a kiss. hehehe Another thing is the ending. Totally unsatisfied with it. Like literally, she ended up with no one after being involved with the 3. I feel sad for Huang Xie's character here. I felt his character should be the one given more emphasis. and yeah, he's the one who truly deserve the FL. Though, I must say Dawang/Qin Emperor and Yu Qin are admirable themselves in their own ways. But Huang Xie, gave way enough for the FL yet he remained to be unrequitted till the end. And yeah, that ending having a Huang Xie doppleganger is quite a joke. Like come on, was that his son? though we all know he never loved anybody else but our FL. The antagonists played their roles so well that just looking at their faces, you'll truly be irritated. There are few funny and cute moments that you get to enjoy in this drama. Not to mention FL's siblings are also commendable in their respective roles. Overall, this is an interesting drama. I gave it an 8 for a good story plot. But not high enough because of not a satisfying ending and yes, the lack of skinships in romance.
Currently on ep. 8, I wonder how long will it take for FL to remember her past with the Emperor? It's like it's taking forever. Like Am sure 2ML wouldn't nodge to tell that she's got amnesia during childhood. I prefer their childhood relationship rather than FL's infatuation with 2ML. So, the memory starts to sink in at ep.12. I feel sad for the ML. Like, on ep.15 and it's still unrequitted for him. It's my 2nd time to watch Hawick in a drama and his roles seem the same. Like it takes sometime for the FL to like him back. @16 I am starting to lose interest in this drama. It's going nowhere. Like c'mon, is this a 2ML drama? for 16 eps., still the ML is a loser on the FL's heart. Knowing 2ML didn't do anything for her.
Halfway thru. am starting to lose hope on this drama. It's just not making any sense. A very forgiving. patient and understanding Emperor. A very insensitive FL who didn't care about the Emperor's feelings at all and the audacity to ask favors from the Emperor whom she never cared about inspite of recalling her memories. I'm not sure what's likeable in this drama at all?
So, I completed the drama at this point. I had to forward scenes as it becomes more irritating till the end. They became an official couple at around ep.23 and just had their sweet moments for an ep. or 2. Which makes this drama a total slow burn. Not to mention too lacking of skinships and kisses.
For the characters, the ML/Emperor is the most likeable Emperor I believe I have encountered in the historical C dramaland. Being so loyal, forgiving, understanding and caring. On the other hand, the FL, I think is the most annoying FL I have ever encountered so far in Cdramaland. Inspite of the beautiful face, the character for me, is really not desirable. It's like she's trying to be righteous and unselfish but, her inner self is showing her ill intentions. Yes, truly indeed. she never loved the Emperor sincerely. It has always been 2ML that has more weight in her heart. Even in the latter part that she tried to protect the emperor in her own way but seem to be protecting her brother more than the other way around. The emperor is so pitiful in this drama. He deserves a better FL so to speak. I'm not a fan of Zang Bin Bin but his loyalty towards the FL is commendable in this aspect. FL's acting is still the same as I've seen her in Love 020. Very bland. For Hawick, I've seen hin in Sealed with A Kiss and he portrayed almost same role as a pitiful ML.
For the story plot itself, this is comparable to Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace. But, on that drama it's the emperor who is unlikeable and the FL there is really admirable. Overall, I can only give this a 6.5. generous enough for the emperor. This is quite overrated for a sad ending drama.
After completing S2, which do I prefer? TBH, I'm not a fan of Bo Ah but, it's still S1 that I prefer. One main reason is the romance and the story plot itself. S1 is mainly all about our ML. I really liked how he lost and managed to get back the love he lost back then. And yeah, I was crying a river when we lost Rang on the last Season. I love the intimacy of the romance back then as well. For season 2, it seems the writer intended to make the story a bit lighter this time. Tried to make the ML funny but not really. The supporting cast did made me laugh in a few scenes. So, S2 is more of Rang's story. this time he found love himself though I thought it would still be Eun Hoo or should I say, Yoori on S1. Just got a little lost midway with so many villains to tackle by, compared to S1 that it was focused on the Imoogi and yeah, I just find the scenes more intense back then. Another thing that I didn't like much about S2. The fight scenes are way too stretched out. Specially the zombies part and even in the finale where the scene Jia Yoo and the mermaid needed to be saved was so stretched that I have to forward it. Not to mention the scenes on the ghost thing and the mercenaries are too stretched too. The only thing I like in S2 is the friendship of the 3 ML towards the end. The relationship of the 3 during the 11eps is honestly a mess. So, the OG revived mountain God was just introduced here to give way for the final S3 of this Trilogy. Obviously, he would be the anticipated villain for S3. Will be missing Rang as I heard he won't be joining S3. Overall, it's a decent watch. If you're into fight scenes and zombies, this S2 is for you. I would still recommend for viewers to watch S1 to understand the correlation of the story, It's an 8.5 for me.
So, I tried my best to understand what's this all about. It is not simply a problem of marriage or a craving for desire. But, what I saw is a woman trying to live her best in her everyday life inspite of not receiving real care and love from the people surrounding her. I feel sad for her character, that the mother who should fill in the genuine love and care for her gave her the opposite. Such a narrow minded mother who doesn't deserve to be a mother at all. Then a husband who only thinks about himself. Then the guys who never really loved her and just used her to meet their desires.
This would have a great potential if there was a character development among the characters. That there should be at least one person who genuinely love her towards the end. Well, it's a Jdrama afterall. Rarely to see a happy satisfying ending. It's a 5 for me.
Overall, this is just a 7.5 for me. If I'm into crime, mystery I would have enjoyed this. But, I only watch for romance, so yeah, this ain't for me.
Overall, this is just an okay drama for those into this type of genre. Only thing I liked here, karma was served for the characters who deserve it. It's a 7 for me.
Overall, this is just an okay drama. Still, I find the skinships and the romantic attachment of the leads
lacking. Like, the FL spent more time with 2ML.Gave this a 7 for a somehow happy ending.

This would have a great potential if there was a character development among the characters. That there should be at least one person who genuinely love her towards the end. Well, it's a Jdrama afterall. Rarely to see a happy satisfying ending. It's a 5 for me.
