I go for steamy kisses when choosing a drama as well, and i dare say Yang Mi is a bad kisser. I don't know why…
I totally agree! sadly, she keeps on being paired up with good kisser leading men such as Xu Kai and Mark Chao. Such a waste potential for a good romance drama. And yeah, she's like the female version of Allen Ren who avoids skinships in a drama. 🙄😁
I think Junhui like most SMLs really got screwed in the series. I felt so bad for him. His mom made Qin Shi leave…
Wait, was this the part they're having a sort of taekwondo match. Technically giving QS a self defence training? That was the only part I saw, unintentionally hurting her.
I think Junhui like most SMLs really got screwed in the series. I felt so bad for him. His mom made Qin Shi leave…
Oh, I didn't see that part. Probably i have skipped alot missing those parts. All I saw is Junhui being so caring to QS. He hasn't forgotten her allergies and keeps on insisting to take him home to their prewedding house where QS is residing currently, when he was drunk. Also the reunion part with his HS friends I think, hoping QS would be there. And yeah, my most fave part was his confession at the car park when he's drunk. He can't control his emotions anymore. It's also a plus that he knows martial arts. I don't like men who physically abuse women either. That would just be so sad if he does that and didn't saw it coming. But, i really like the flashback when they were still together TJH and QS having hotpot in their house. I can feel how TJH was so in love with QS back then, well, till the present times obviously.

True,. Well, for one, the spotlight is always on the ML. SML's are rarely chosen in the end. I love Xu Kai but Junhui's character here won my heart. Yeah, I believe Junhui can also do all the romantic gestures YH did for QS if only given a chance..
Well, if the haters would just stop attacking YM and accusing her of flirting with her male co-stars, she would…
I didn't watch that, thanks for the heads up. But, I did enjoy all the kisses and intimacy in Falling Into Your Smile. Cheng Xiao isn't good in acting but I should say the kisses are very well portrayed.
I think Junhui like most SMLs really got screwed in the series. I felt so bad for him. His mom made Qin Shi leave…
Same thoughts. I really felt sad for his character. It's so obvious from the start that he wasn't able to move on from his past relationship with QS. I liked his character tbh. The only issue is the mom. Well, QS has a complicated fam herself..
Well, if the haters would just stop attacking YM and accusing her of flirting with her male co-stars, she would…
Liang Jie and Bai Lu have built their names on their own. Not because they're younger they are less popular. I guess, all netizens have their own opinions on each artist not with Yang Mi alone. Probably they have just this prejudice on married artist in China to be more conservative in doing their roles. I noticed that mostly in married actors in China like Allen Ren. I personally prefer dramas with lots of skinships and intimcacy. If I see these artists casted as the leads, I usually avoid them. I guess each has just its own preference. I just made this an exception for Xu Kai.
Well, if the haters would just stop attacking YM and accusing her of flirting with her male co-stars, she would…
I've seen her in Legends of Fu Yao and Eternal Love. Her kissing scenes are just so bland for me compared to Liang Jie and Bai Lu who can do intimate scenes so well. What's TMOPB? Obviously, , I haven't seen that drama.
Well, if the haters would just stop attacking YM and accusing her of flirting with her male co-stars, she would…
Well, I'm not attacking Yang Mi and am not even her hater. I said, I'm just not a fan of hers. And definitely, I don't accuse her of flirting. I just noticed that she can't portray intimate scenes that I find her dramas always conservative. As a romance enthusiast, kissing scenes are of great value. It's so sad if the artist can't portray it well.
So this much long awaited contemporary drama of Xu Kai ended up being forwarded a lot by me. Well, I didn't have much expectations in the first place knowing Yang Mi as the FL. I don't expect much skinships and the kisses are just meh. It's always conservative when Yang Mi is the FL. Sadly, all her ML are good kisser and she's just not so into it. Storywise, like I said, I made lots of skips. It's really a total drag. One, I'm so not a fan of court dramas. i mainly watched this for Xu Kai of course. Honestly, the chemistry of the leads is a bit off. I think I felt the sincerity more with the SML towards the FL. I'd prefer if FL ended up with SML. Yang Hua is a loveable character. However, I might agree on some here. He deserves a better FL character than what we have here. Okay, so I just checked, that's why TJH is quite familiar, He was Solo in Go Go Squid. Didn't noticed him much in Court Lady and Ancient Love Poetry. So technically, this is the nth time he's with Xu Kai in a drama. For that it's just a 7.0 for me. That's being generous enough after seeing Xu Kai again in a modern drama.
So, I contemplated a lot to watch this. the only thing that motivated me to do so is that tag steamy kiss and a few comments here describing how good the kisses were in this drama. I've seen some of Yang mi's drama and i must say, it always has that conservative approach and mostly minimal skinships. The story is just okay. lots of draggy parts for me. This would have been better to only around 32 episodes. 58 is just way too long. So many unnecessary scenes like Bai Qian's drunk moments occupies most of the time. And yes, I am one of those hoping that Mo Yuan and Ye Hua is just one character. honestly, i prefer Mo Yuan's character since he is the first one who really fell in love with Si Yi. From that very moment he saved her from Yao guang defines it all. that Lotus flower really made me confused from the start. The ending is just a so so for me. Like, rising from the dead or waking up from a deep sleep as they have described it is just not quite believable for me. i would prefer reincarnation as they usually do in Xianxia dramas. I just felt sad as well that none of the secondary couples ended up together. One character I enjoyed most here is Riceball. He's just a smart, too cute little boy. The blind eyes trope was widely used here, specially for the despicable women characters. Overall, I gave this an 8.0 for Mark Chao's good kisses specially when he said "Give me a second child", that already melted my heart. I'm just really not a fan of Yang Mi, specially her kisses are just so bland. Like, she doesn't know how to respond to a good kisser leading men she luckily being paired up with. Lastly, another likeable character here is 4th brother Bai Zhen. I was hoping he would be given a partner here too. Anyways, I still prefer Ancient Love Poetry than this one. They have quite a similar story.
First time to watch ML in a lead role. such a baby face for a 29yr. old guy. The cutest dragon I've ever watched. 3rd time to watch FL in a drama. Still, her teeth bothers me. Anyways, was able to complete the drama because of the secondary couple LiJi and Lin Lin. Li Ji's character is really hilarious. For the main leads, the sweet moments are definitely lacking. Slowburn for me. Like they became a real couple around ep. 18. Even the ending was just so so. I liked how it ended though for the secondary couple. Overall, it's a 7.5 for me.
I am one of those who anticipatedly long waited for this drama. Obviously, I am so here for Xu Kai. I just started watching the drama to be just in time on when will it end. I don't like waiting for upcoming eps. Apparently, found myself forwarding lots of scenes. Specially, the legal aspect. not really a fan of court/legal dramas. So, technically, I'll end up waiting for the upcoming eps as well.
I am already expecting that this will be a slowburn drama since Yang Mi is in it. Most of her dramas that I've seen are slowburn with minimal skinships. I've always been looking forward to see Xu Kai in a modern setup drama. I think the last time I saw him doing such was Falling Into Your Smile. One thing that's quite bothersome for me in this drama is that why was he styled here with a boyish look? Honestly, he literally looks like a Highschool boy here. He looks more mature in Falling Into Your Smile or at least should have adapted his look in Lost in Kunlun Mountains. I mean, for somebody involved in the Finance Industry, portraying a perfect Husband that should have been given at least a quite mature look and not literally a Highschool boy next door look.
Anyways, I'm just here for the romance aspect of the drama of the main leads. Skipping scenes on the legal side and issues of FL's half-brother. FL's character isn't interesting for me either. I just liked the concept of noona romance here. So, definitely will look forward on the romance aspect of the drama.
You really should take your time to finish the last episodes … towards the end it really is getting better.…
I just completed The Rise of the Phoenixes and it was too heavy for me. I'm just really not a fan of tragedies. i'm always for happy endings with lots of skinships and romance like General's Lady. If this would have the same vibe, i might consider continuing.
Dropped at ep. 3. The drama is so focused on the business aspect and not really on romance. i thought this would have a noona romance vibe. But, i guess not.
My thoughts on this 40ep. drama. First, I really find it quite long. Like when you hit play. it's literally the start of the ep. without opening credits. Story plot is interesting. the main elements of a typical historical drama was there. I was just confused how it was presented. I guess, I forwarded lots of scenes due to boredom. I think it's more of the leads got into the story of the book that FL wrote than time travelled. Though, the presence of the mobile phone and a ball pen got me confused. On the casts, first time to watch the leads in a drama. FL is good looking, but, really the acting was just so amateur. Ml is just okay but not the ideal type. The characters that stood out for me were 4th Prince/Emperor Qing Ran. I really like his character from the start and so heartbreaking towards the end. He's the main reason I got hooked in this drama. And the other character I liked is FL's brother Nan Ling Rui. Like, I really thought he would be one of FL's admirers too. Never saw it coming that he was actually her biological brother. He's kinda good looking too. I feel sad for the character of 3rd Prince . Like he truly loved as well the FL, sadly he chose a different path to get what he wanted. for the other characters such as Princess Ye Qian, I feel sad for her character too. She really just fell in love. And for Commander Qin Yu, i think she deserves her fate afterall the bad things she did for love. The ending was just okay, but still a bit confusing for me. Though a bit limited, the kisses and skinships by the leads were executed well. Overall, I can give this 7.5. Honestly, I really prefer Qing Ran to be the father of the child until the end. And hoping FL would really fall for him instead. The push and pull of the MC realtionship was really irritating.
