I think the murder mystery game was supposed to be a twist on the 'meet cute' trope, and they did use it to show…
Yeah... It was actually a very good idea... It's too bad they completely gave it up pretty early in the game...

It's not moving? They are about to be engaged.
Yeah but that's not the point of my comment. The point is we have 7 episodes left and it doesn't feel like they're gonna manage making this romantic progression feel natural and not rushed given how there's not that much episodes left.

I'm not saying I don't like how things are portrayed. If they manage to make it work well within the alloted episodes, I'll be very happy to have been worried over nothing.

I'm talking about their respective feelings. The whole engagement thing officially is just a contract of mutual interests which has absolutely nothing to do with being in love or not.

WELL! I must say today's ending was VERY satisfying. Too bad the Queen is too well-versed in hiding her emotions publicly 🤓 I would have loved to see her being pissed in front of all her guests but we can't have everything... I guess.

I'm just a bit worried about the whole romance progression. We're moving at a good pace but we're already reaching the middle of the series tomorrow and my God does it feel like it's not really moving? Like you can see they're both flustered... and obviously there's the epilogues... but at the same time, it feels more like a romantic progression for a 16 episodes series than a 12 episodes one. Better that than too much fillers though... But it does surprise me that I've seen countless 12 episodes romance you start to feel bored with halfway... when this one... has not really moved forward? Lots of plot points, very little time to execute...

It doesn't feel rushed for now but I'm still pretty worried about the second half. Hopefully they manage to balance everything and keep that steady pace up to the last episode. Crossing my fingers 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Very interesting to see that on MDL, information are pretty scarce concerning Japanese actors... I just came across a video dating several months back explaining that a couple of months ago a scandalous picture came out and that it became a well-known fact that he's cheated on his wife over 30 times but that she won't divorce ( that was background noise so the point of the video was explaining WHY his wife didn't divorce him but I didn't catch that part).

You won't find videos about this on Japanese youtube though... only Japanese articles. I guess since affairs don't really have any impact on Japanese actors' careers ( especially his' for that matter), there's no need to mention it here... But I do feel it's unfair. All actors on MDL have their scandals plastered on their Bio, this one has mysteriously escaped everyone's radar.

If you don't speak either Japanese or Korean, you're very unlikely to know about this... And at the moment I'm typing these lines... This scandal has blown up 7 months ago.

Not gonna boycott or anything... But I do find the "clean Bio" pretty funny in regards of how screwed up his personal life turns out to be.

Actually nope.. Your experience is probably worse but watching it live didn't make the experience better. It was…
Yeah well... I've noticed that MDL seems to specialize in overrating or downrating i.e shows ratings being overblown (especially for Chinese dramas or anything BL related) whereas some shows, seem to get the short end of the stick even when they're genuinely good... often when the star power is weak. Honestly, I don't bother checking ratings any more. You can' t rely on them.

I agree. I would've liked more of the murder mystery games. It was more of a side gimmick than anything. Could've…
I was misled by the trailer which put a huge emphasis on the game as if it was actually important... It was the starting point for sure, but the trailer hinted at it being way more important than it actually was... Well it did its job because I was intrigued enough to start it... but It currently makes me feel pretty betrayed as well.

Bit disapointed... Not that the show is bad, but maybe I expected too much. I expected more mystery games and instead I get your very typical Chinese romance with an emphasis on the working environment... a Chinese specialty?

Compared to most shows of the same genre, it doesn't drag too much even though the romance is more or a less a slow burn... But I didn't start the show for that.

Will continue watching, because the show is nice not extraordinary... It's just that I wasn't in the mood for this type of "classic romance". I was expected more virtual world... Something more along the lines of 19th Floor where a romance developed between the two main characters inside some kind of VR game i.e most of the story happening inside the VR game and not IRL, and we're very far from that...

Should not have started this show "blindly"... I went in with the wrong expectations.

99.99% sure the two previous Kings were killed by the current's Queen's father and that the Queen knows it. Why? Because this actor is ALWAYS the biggest villain in the room. As soon as I saw him it was game over.

Eventually MAYBE Yi An's brother actually committed suicide but I doubt it. Seems he knew he was never fit for the role and hence before he abdicated to his brother, the Queen asked her father to "solve the succession issue". She also probably wished the younger brother had been the oldest one, given how worked up she seems with her brother in law's private life, but sadly no luck on that front.

Girl, these 6 packs were never for you. Also your personality is terrible, neither your husband, nor his brother, nor even your own son enjoy spending a single second in your company... I even doubt you're enjoying being with yourself either.

As much as I'm enjoying myself, this character is truly terribly written so far. She's always power-hungry and throwing jealous fits. Honestly the less screentime she's given, the better.

Would have been pretty simple if the former King had just appointed his youngest as the successor since it was very clear, he was more fit for it. Poor older brother forced to follow footsteps too big for his own shoes, poor younger brother having to always lose on purpose to the oldest. Great Papa really, Could have been friend with Hui Ju's father since they both ruined their children's siblings' relationships with their own prejudices.

I mean I understand the need for conflicts but I wish the villains were less one note. It's really not pleasant seeing them on my screen. At least Hui Ju's brother and his wife are funny.

Now that we're clear on that front, let's focus on our couple's dynamics. I only signed for this drama for Byeon Woo Seok. Yes I'm shallow, I don't care. Gimme more fanservice like in the first two episodes please! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

"On April 17, OSEN reported that The Second Signal had been removed from its summer slot and would not premiere in June as initially planned. In response, tvN clarified later that day that no final decision had been made regarding the drama's broadcast."

So basically, it's a no news article since tvN hasn't made any final decision. Another useless click-bait from MDL writers. I'm really getting tired of those...

EDIT: OH. Figures. It's Lily Alice again... It would be great if MDL put the name of the writers under the title of the article on the front page. That would avoid lots of us giving clicks to this individual who is a fake-news repeating offender.

I’m on ep 37 now. My third day watching and it’s definitely HOT 🥵.
I ended up dropping it at episode 17 or something maybe before? Some scenes were steamy for sure but not as hot as I thought... But I couldn't bear the overall poor acting especially the FL's... I ended up getting tired of the WTFuckery of it all... Maybe it's a question of mood I don't know... Or maybe it's just too WTF for me who knows... I haven't completely given up on watching this show... but I know now is not really the right time.

100% sure it's gonna be as angsty as LITM. But I don't care. Gotta watch everything from these two. Hopefully it lives up to the hype. I haven't finished a single Thai BL since LITM...

i hate this about the release time that korea sees first and rest of the WORLD should wait for it and also still…
Except China does WEB releases so that actually doesn't count. Often a drama available online is only going to be aired on TV WEEKS later hence the reason why it comes out at the same time for everyone since for Chinese people as well, the drama is often ONLY available online.

The only exceptions to these rules are dramas produced by Chinese channels such as Mango TV, in this instance, it's the same for everyone, TV release and then WEB release after it has already aired on TV.

So nope, China doesn't do it different. The biggest difference is that in SK, Platform produced dramas are a minority ( think anything produced by TVING and even then these shows are often also aired on tvN so it's a bit of a mixed bag) whereas in China, iQiyi, We-Tv and Youku produces the shows which are then sold by them to national channels to be aired on TV and not the opposite.

In Korea, the system is dramas being mostly channel produced with eventually some foreign money and then agreements with OTTs for international release.

So as much as I understand the complain... It's not valid here sorry.

This show is... Weird? I can't help but think this is certainly one of the worst shows I've seen in my life yet these cliffhangers always make me click for the next episode... Also, they've interspaced quite a lot of AI generated sequences that just make my eyes bleed... but I understand... it's a WEB drama, the budget is lower than low... I'm on episode 12 and there's a very short scene where a car is passing through some type of western looking city... Except ( and I used the backward arrow to be sure) the background is just some kind of playtoys. There's 3 looking cowboys but it's pretty obvious that these are dolls not real people. I mean why? Why don't you use your AI generated background here? I don't get it. Also the music is some type of arabian souding stuff but we're in a Western type setting? Just WTF?

AH SORRY.

I used my brain today and forgot to put it in my cupboard before resuming the show. My bad.
