No No suffer with all of us....this drama is insane woke me from my Kdrama slump!
I just started it... I gave up... But I reached a relatively good compromise. I'm watching it in Korean without any subs. That way I can still follow most of the story but I'm not necessarily tempted to spend time in the comment section since I probably missed some details in the dialogue ( I recently sat for the TOPIK for which I'm expecting either level 4 or 5).

If the story is worth it ( I mean I A.D.O.R.E.D the first two episodes) I'll rewatch it with Korean subs at some point. The dialogues are pretty easy compared to all the business talk I have to get through in Queen of Tears ( which I'm currently watching with Korean subs) so it's a very breezy, pleasant watch since there's very little I don't understand.

PS: Btw I think you didn't get my comment. I'm self-employed i.e I'm my own boss. It's very different from working from someone else because you have no one to answer to but yourself.

Well... I had just started watching this... Really liked the vibe... Then I come here... I see people talking about a season 2... I'm like "Oh Come on' "... I check the last episode...

WELL WELL WELL.

Glad I didn't invest more than 20 minutes. I won't bother unless I'm sure a proper ending is coming... Too bad because the show was pretty charming...

PS: Btw thank you for the long novel spoiler below ^^

I just learned from another member that the FL wakes up from a coma or whatever... Classic censorshit in action...…
Nah I don't have it... Since all these big companies are bent on making us spend more than 150โ‚ฌ in subscriptions, I've decided to only commit to Viki and iQiyi which are the only ones worth my money as far as I'm concerned.

BUT for the record... Since my last posts, the ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ website that I'm using reuploaded all the episodes in Full HD so even though I've yet to watch this series, I now have it available ^^ But thank you for the update.

I find the Japanese acting style for female characters rather, endearing. Makes a nice change. And then there's…
Lol I never said nor even thought you were Japanese. That was just a general comment. Obviously if Japanese portrayal only appealed to Japanese people, a website such as MDL wouldn't exist ^^

As somebody who doesn't watch a lot of J dramas, I haven't come across lots of mature female characters but it also stems from the fact that I enjoy rom coms and rom coms often feature the silly type hence the fact that I avoid these shows. But I'm very much aware that the production is vast, and it is just that what I mostly watched when J dramas are concerned just happen to always feature female characters acting childish.

Never watched a single show with this actress... This being said I'm sure you can find anything you're looking for on nyaa (with a VPN of course).
On Guardians of the Dafeng Nov 18, 2025
So when this drama initially aired, when I came to the comment section... It was mostly pretty negative... which led to me thinking the current high rating was mostly due to people fawning over Dylan Wang. Hence I almost decided not to watch this... But Dylan Wang being a favorite, I ended up just postponing my watching of the show... (I've got lots of actors I really love, but I don't engage in fangirling. No matter how much I like an actor, if the show sucks or if they perform badly, I'm gonna say it like I think it is).

Which once again proves that you just can't really decide to watch or not watch based on other people's opinions.

Just started this yesterday, and it's such a blast I wish I could just binge it. Can't believe I'm that hooked with a show that is so far without any romance (ep 6).

Probably more a matter of taste. Personally never liked it, but obviously Japanese people like that, otherwise they wouldn't make their female characters act like this all the time. I used to watch way more Japanese shows though, so it really used to irk me but since I honestly must watch less than 5 straight J dramas a year, and I tend to avoid Japanese romantic comedies like the plague, it's no longer that much of an issue.

I prefer when their female character are acting "normal" and don't try to act like children. Especially since Japan knows how to write good adult female characters.

It's either that, or they enjoy the "dominatrix" type which is just another extreme... But again Japanese humor always go for "extreme" characters.

Btw... err Who is Nanao? or What is Nanao?

Yeah yeah I understand. But as I told you, I work from home. The consequences are much harder to deal with when you have to self-discipline unlike somebody who doesn't have access to their streaming websites during working hours.

Still resisting... I think the first week was the worse. I'm actually very much in the mood to watch a good rom com' and this one looks terrific... but I really don't want to go through the whole waiting game. So, I'm currently hesitating between starting it in Korean with K subs which would mean taking about 4 to 5 days to finish 2 episodes given I still have to rely heavily on a dictionary... but which also means that I won't have to wait too much in-between episodes or just binging the whole thing with eng subs once everything is released...

However I've just started a very good C drama, and I'm literally hooked from the first episode... which means... It's way easier to resist temptation.... But I've seen people are definitely tuning in... I think I'm just gonna watch some clips until all episodes are released ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Just a correction: both barely had their Birthdays around the beginning of filming. Hou Minghao barely turned…
No you didn't understand what I wrote.

There's an 11 year-old gap. IF she was 18 he would have been 29 which in my opinion would still be a problem. I KNOW she was 17 and he, 28 when it was filmed. I don't know how to better write this.

Anyway we'll see how this goes...

Lol... I know. If you read my sentence I wrote this:

"In fact even at 18, that would have been a problem to me... There's a difference between an 11 years old gap between a 30 year-old woman and a 41 year-old man who both have lived so to speak... and an 18 year-old girl who's just out of childhood ( or not because honestly you're only an adult on paper as far as I'm concerned) and a 29 year-old man who's got more than 10 years of adult-life under his belt."

I wrote this mentioning that as far as I'm concerned, that would still have been a problem if she was a major and hence 18. Taking into account the 11 year-old gap, that makes 18 and 29. I obviously checked their age before typing this. ๐Ÿ™„

your criticism would be valid if you didn't sound like a hater half of the time.
My God, if he's even more bland in the novel... I think I've wasted my money then. This being said I bought it in Thai, so not gonna read that one any time soon given my current speed at reading the language.

For the rest of your comment. It's true it's above the majority of Thai BL, but the bar is set pretty low in the first place. Doesn't mean the drama is good. I'm glad you've enjoyed it, and I am very aware I belong to the minority. Still we can agree to disagree. I don't like to be bullied or be called a hater just because I don't align with other people's opinion.

I couldn't care less about fan wars and have absolutely no tolerance for sycophants and haters alike. As you can see, this is a real account. Unlike LOTS of people on this platform, I own up to my own opinion, I don't waste my time creating fake accounts just to post negative opinions by fear of being bullied by the opinion police. There's a block button for that.

As for Namping. Well maybe he nailed how insipid the character in the novel is... Can't say I haven't read it but I still stand by my opinion. The acting was subpar and he had no chemistry with his co-lead. Also it was very obvious he wasn't at ease with any of the intimacy they were asked to display onscreen.

As far as I'm concerned, this was a mixed bag with good fantasy elements, a horrendous pace, and the whole romance aspect which just sucked.

I ended up rating that one 6.5 which I think is being pretty generous given how annoyed I was by the end... but one has to give credit where it's due. At least they tried something new and the OST was great.

It's interesting how Han Hyo Joo is supposed to be this Korean working abroad ( her childhood self as well as her mother in the drama are very obviously Japanese though but I digress) yet she's acting with all the typical mannerisms I've seen in literally ALL Japanese dramas.
It's a weird directing choice because apart from her face, it makes her feel more like a Japanese than a Korean woman.

Otherwise, her Japanese is very good! Slightly slow and her "z" sleeps often into "j", very typical since the "z" doesn't exist in Korean, but it is very discreet. I'm impressed.

Otherwise being half-way. It's a cozy comedy. Not the best I've seen but very cute, very Japanese flavored. Probably gonna rate this one 8/8.5.
It's one of these cute comforting show you watch with a mug of hot chocolate and a warm blanket without thinking too much. เณƒโ˜•โœฉ๐Ÿตเฟ”:๐Ÿงโฟป๐Ÿฎโœจ

Beware though if you're not familiar with female characters in Japanese dramas... Han Hyo Joo's acting may trigger you, as she's startled all the time for no reason. It's aligned with her character's personality but to be honest, most female characters in J dramas are always startled and overly shy especially in romantic comedies.

It's not a Han Hyo Joo problem, it's a Japanese acting style and it can be pretty annoying if you're not used to it as female characters always are a bit childish which seems to play into that "innocence" thing Japanese are pretty fond of. I will never understand this obsession with making adult women behave like kids... but you sort of get used to at some point.

Namping seemed more concerned with his hair in that last episode NC scene than being in actual character which…
I think it was more a way to cope with how awkward he felt during this scene... which is understandable but in that case either don't sign up for a BL because NC scenes have literally become a requisite in Thai BLs now...

OR if you're bound by contract, that was the production's job to make sure to have enough time to coach both actors BEFORE they had to film... Not everybody is at ease with filming these type of scenes and it does require quite a fair amount of self-confidence. Something Namping clearly lacked which made me deeply annoyed in spite of pitying him.

Lol. Don't self-censor. You can just block people from the opinion police. I totally get your comment, but you…
Lol I understand ^^It's more an ongoing process. Well your choice. As said, in my case I've blocked the most toxic members. Not to say that I never encounter people calling me hater... But usually these people are just throwing a little sentence and go away. They don't go into full bullying mode... Even if they do, I don't bother reading the whole thing and they're automatically blocked. ๐Ÿ˜†

Sometimes I tell them I don't care, sometimes I don't because I've got other things to do then have the last word... which seems to trigger some people which are then blocked.

As said... I've blocked about 60 people... And some are fake accounts... That's not that many, once you start to do it progressively ^^

Take care!

Loved the story n execution of this one. It was a bit boring for me in the start, I almost gave up by episode…
Lol. Don't self-censor. You can just block people from the opinion police. I totally get your comment, but you need to learn not to care. We're social beings, we need to express ourselves. Otherwise, we just tend to get frustrated.

Also once you've blocked enough people, you'll see MDL is actually a fun place to be once you've filtered out the trash. The only issues are:

1. The anti-fans or fans who create fake accounts specifically to downvote or upvote shows or post fake reviews ( great use of their time I say).

2. Those who just can't own up to their own opinions and don't want to "pollute" their main accounts. Some of them belong to the "I don't tolerate negativity" police and use their main account to bully people in saying only "positive things". Honestly they're the worst.

Anyway... The issue with these fake accounts is that they grow like mushrooms, and it's impossible to block them all... otherwise you're gonna reach the 100 persons limit pretty fast.
This being said, I must have blocked about 60 people on MDL (some of them fake accounts)... which honestly makes most of my navigation way more pleasant. And you don't have to only block people who interact with you. Whenever I see one member that I find extremely rude/annoying etc. even if I'm not part of the conversation, I preemptively block that person. I can already know this person is not worth interacting with, so I can just anticipate.

I recommend you start to do the same, instead of censoring yourself. People are also interested in negative opinions especially on popular shows since they're more difficult to find. Just sayin'
On Romantics Anonymous Nov 15, 2025
Lol... With everyone mentioning the cameo, I ended up spoiling myself and heading straight to the end to see what this was all about.

And all I have to say is:

1. Why?

2. It's an interesting choice for sure. One is currently embroiled in a cheating scandal and the other dude divorced his previous wife without telling her what he intended to do... Talk about being a duet of douchebags. I like them both as actors though, but on a personal level I'm not really sure they're the best people to be around.

Now of course, their personal lives have nothing to do with this drama... However!

I can't help but find the idea of using both of them, given their personal history, in this useless random cameo in a ROMANTIC comedy quite ironic ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Maybe it was a private joke from the Director.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I'm one of the people stick with the show only for the second couple. I couldn't agree more about how bland namping…
We're of one mind on that... I think there's also a huge difference between people watching live and people watching the episodes after everything' s been released. Since there's not as much room for speculations and theorizing, I think people tend to watch the show with a cooler head and tend to be less lenient regarding its flows.

I've bought the Thai books as they were on sale but I really do hope, Khemjira is better written in the original source.
