This thread has gotten terrible. I was hoping people would calm down after a couple of days and you know give positive or negative criticisms regarding the show without getting into the usual personal attacks... But I've had it. I'm out of here. I'm going to keep watching this quietly. Less time on social networks, forums, comment sections whatever, more time to do something else. Good watching to you all anyway. It's more fun when we interact between fans but so be it.

Your comment made me laugh ^^
Funnily enough, "Live Up to Your Name" is a drama I dropped after only 2 episodes when it aired... And I do love both leads ^^

Thank you for the information (though I don't understand what's an Anti-House Zen Master).
Definitely going to stay away from Doctor Romantic then ( I grew up while ER was airing so my trauma runs deep, I'm just literally completely utterly fed up with the genre).

Hospital Playlist seems more like my jam though still in a medical settings however... but I'll be checking it out given how popular it is and the fact you mentioned it's more character driven.

Well I'm currently re-watching it.
Is the end less off-putting on a rewatch...
Currently reaching the end of episode 2 and MY GOD how could I have forgotten how much of a shitty personality Teh had?

Team Bas all the way. I'll be forever saddened this ship didn't sail... And I'm the type of person who ALWAYS stick to the main pairing to avoid heartbreak and it's the only case where no matter how much I try to reason with myself I just can't be behind that pairing. Oh Ew is a sweetheart and Teh is a toxic bundle of pride and toxic jealousy. Not cute. I think my main issue is that it's usually fun to see petty jealousy onscreen, I luuuuurved it, but Teh hurts Oh Ew every time and it's REALLY annoying. I just want him to go to hell.

happy ending? I am contemplating whether to watch this or your name engraved herein but i discovered the latter…
Depends on your point of view... For me it's one of the very few drama where the "happy ending" is not a pleasant one. I'm currently rewatching episode 2... and all the emotions I felt back then are coming back and they're still the same.
So if your question is happy ending as in both ML get together? The answer is yes. Now is it truly a happy ending, I think it really depends on how you see these characters.

My bet is that that this drama got a 8.1 ratings on MDL in spite of its quality compared to most BL dramas from that dilemma.
For me, it's not a HE. I was planning on re-rating it up... But I think that I'm going to stick with the initial ratings of 8.5 that I gave 3 years ago.

That type of toxic behavior only comes from young viewers. Just let them vent and ignore their comments.

It's getting too graphic for comfort (currently in the middle of episode 8)... I was planning on watching another Taiwanese thriller after that one, but I think once I've finished, I'm going to stay away from the genre for at least a month...
I might only stick to romantic comedies for that matter.
I still think the story is great but the amount of violence shown in episode 8 is above my tolerance level. Obviously it's an Asian show on Netflix... I don't understand why they always need to get this violent whenever these shows are exclusively produced for Netflix or Disney +. It doesn't bring anything of value to the story. I prefer when we spend time with our prosecutor instead of giving too much screentime to sickeningly gross and disgusting individuals.

FINAL EDIT: The actor playing the mastermind was amazing! I couldn't bear to look at his face in the second half of the series and had to space my watching of each new episode because of how much I HATED him. Overall, it was a pretty classic thriller served by amazing performances by the whole cast. But a bit too dark for me, I didn't like the outcome with the mastermind... I thought It was a bit too easy for him so that's a little minus... Another little minus for the excessive violence which I felt wasn't always necessary. Overall, I thought it was a great drama... But there's no way I'm going to rewatch it, too much for my blood pressure.

I think it's the past. just wait a week for results 🥲
It's not. Quoting myself here:

" So I rewatched the preview... Previews can be misleading BUT:

1. We see Seok Ryu getting out of the cooking school with her new friends wearing a certain outfit.
2. Meeting her ex with the same outfit and looking at the brochures to study cooking abroad he brought her.
3. When she takes the ring, the ring is actually left on the same pamphlets... and she tries it out siting on the same bench with him... needless to say same outfit.

So... It's fair to say that we can assume that the proposal thing is not a flashback at all... THIS BEING SAID, it doesn't mean she's thinking about it seriously. Her mentioning it in the preview, might just be part of a conversation she's having with Mo Eum for instance. And I'm betting her trying it out the ring is just some misleading tricks from the writers: " Oh, I just wanted to see how it looked on my hand" before giving it back. "

Yeah definitely planning to watch it by next month at the latest. I was waiting for the show to finish and see opinions before trying it out, but the few comments I've seen are like yours... People seem to have liked it.

I'm curious how they'll make it believable that the FL loves the ML more than her ex (if that's still the goal),…
I hope she has a good explanation for hiding things but it's obviously not a matter of feeling comfortable with her ex...He just knows and that's it. I mean are we watching the same drama? She's been literally a shadow of herself ever since that dude came back. All that spunk is gone and she's all tame instead of literally telling him to f*** off. If that doesn't scream "uncomfortable" I don't know what does.

She didn't choose him. He knows she had cancer, the ML doesn't, so obviously she chose to go to the hospital with her ex so that the ML is kept in the dark regarding her cancer.

I'm still VERY PISSED... though... But at least we've gotten that out of the way. Also Seok Ryu's little brother... annoyingly very realistic. Yeah yeah. Talking from personal experience. Guess we need cancer for the whole family to offer some mea culpa... But I'll take whatever is offered to get out of that shitty depressing melo hole.
Given how hey all are, I kinda get why she didn't say anything to them... BUT she still should have told at least her two best friends.

There's still one tiny melodrama that hasn't been addressed which is Seung Hyo's family... and I'm not talking about Seung Hyo's parents relationship but Seung Hyo and his mother's. She obviously feels guilty about some things and doesn't dare address the issue but their relationship is still going to remain pretty strained if they dont address the elephant which has no name in the room.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Seok Ryu's parents... You know... Divorce is not such a bad thing. I wouldn't stay one second with a person who constantly talks about me like I'm a failure and constantly tells me that they hate the life we've built together. If she was so dissatisfied, why didn't she just leave once the kids became adults? ( It's South Korea, divorcing is not a small matter so not even expecting her to divorce while the kids are growing up). I thought the mother had learned her lesson with how she treated Seok Ryu before and her husband but out of these flawed characters I'm seriously losing patience with her behavior... She annoys me even more than Seok Ryu's ex and that's saying something because he ANNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYS ME.

I understand the father's point of view though... BUT the fact he failed doesn't mean she will and Seok Ryu is her own person. Hell for someone could be Heaven for another and vice versa. Given how hard working she's always been, I just don't get that lack of support. He could have said " I haven't managed to get a classy restaurant but if it's you my girl, I know you can do it" and that would have been enough...

But again, we need some more dramas because it's a 16 episodes series.
Very disappointed by how this turned out in episode 8... and it had started sooooooo sooooo good too. Seung Hyo's freaking out in his room was hilarious 😂😂😂😂

But hopefully, it can't go any lower, so I'm assuming episode 9 to be full on angst and episode 10 to finish on a happier note. One week of torture (supposedly) and we're done with most of the heavy stuffs.

She pushed him away and asked her ex to grab her.

Hmm...
I liked the mystery aspect of the series... Not much the characterization ... But the end... is basically not giving any clear answers which is really frustrating... The characters have just learned to look at things a different way... and that's not a bad thing... But I'm a bit frustrated by the very vague non-answer we get.

I really don't understand that type of comments... You're watching a K Drama. A K DRAMA.It's always all about…
I had written Asian in the beginning... But then I thought of Thai dramas which are sometimes VERY fast, I also haven't watched Fillipino dramas but from the few glimpses I got from them... they're much more sexualised than say K dramas or C Dramas... so I changed to K dramas since we are in a K Drama thread. By Asian, I think you're thinking of the big 3 namely, Korea, Japan and China?

But yeah I get it if they're new to the genre.

since it’s a preview they may be mixing the scenes around a bit. It’s possible the proposal is a flashback…
I don't know for the proposal... But what's for sure is that her ex does show her brochures of cooking classes ABROAD.
