Yeah... I initially rated it 9.5... But I couldn't get past the lack of Karma either so it ended up with a 9... I think it objectively deserves less... but I love this toxic couple too much to give a lower rating also... It was just frustratingly fun instead of just frustrating. This was a very flawed show... Some characters got off veryyyyyyyyy easily given all the sh*** they pulled Joe through ( I'm looking at you Tong 😒😒😒).
But at the end of the day, I was thoroughly entertained for 12 weeks. As frustrating as some things were... I really loved Joe as a character and even if Ming didn't do enough groveling in my book ( especially compared to the novel), he still grew on me. Some changes made in the last episode compared to the novel were unrealistic and too easy...
But like Lovely Runner this year... I don't care for the flaws and the plotholes. Because I love this pair too much. I totally get it if people rate if lower... But for me, it was entertaining and Poom and Up really sold this couple like crazy. They had amazing chemistry on and off screen. It was entertaining while it lasted. So it's a solid 9.5 for me.
And I'll be following Poom's projects from now on, be it BL or not. He's such an eye-candy also I love his acting. I don't know if it's the writing of his characters or just his inner personally but he makes me smile when he's on screen so I'll be cheering him on.
Probably going to stay in my top 3 BLs for this year... Strong competition coming in the next few weeks, so we'll see if it stays there given there's a couple of other BLs I'm interested in that came out this year that I've yet to see.

I didn't notice what you mentioned because when I watched this episode, the lines weren't translated on iQIYI so I had to watch that "multilingual scene" with Korean subs and it wasn't switched ( I don't know what's happening with this series and Love Sea, but I've been watching both these series switching between English and Korean subs because for some reasons , not all lines are translated or appear on my screen. Sometimes it's not even translated in both languages but fortunately so far only for simple sentences so even if I don't have subs, I can understand the untranslated thai parts).

My theory is, there's probably not enough fantasy related plot to fill 12 episodes so they decided to fill each episode with a whole lot of nothing. If you have nothing to tell, just make a shorter series with less episodes and of 45 minutes length instead 1 hour.
iQIYI should have given the money for at least 4 episodes of this mess to "My Stand In". That one is having a rushed end to a messy but very entertaining show, while this one is draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggging a veryyyyyy borrriiiiiiiiiiiiing plot. Also they're using the same sets so they could have switched places no problem.

He might not be stupid in the novel... but he is definitely here though... just look at how quickly he forgave Ming when it took lots of chapters in the original novel. And I get your point. I sort of read not read the novel so I'm very much aware of how it happens in it.
I think they made these changes because it was just impossible for them to stick to the original plot with so little episodes left. It would be great if Thailand made longer BLs. The longest BL I've seen was Kinnporsche with 14 episodes and even then the end was an open-ending ( and sadly there will never be a second season given all the drama that unfolded after its successful airing).
