So even though I knew what to expect to some degree... I still can't get over the sheer stooooooooooopidity of that ending.

The fact that the writer offed the most adorkable character in this series is not even what pisses me off the most... It's the fact that for the life of me I just DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY?

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY????

I came to watch this with a certain level of detachment knowing one of the character (not who though) was going to "you know what" but even then I wasn't expecting the last episode to be this painful.

My level of frustration is so high that I regret even investing time in this drama. Maybe I shouldn't but I initially wanted to rate this a solid 8... But that ending ruined the whole show for me so that's a 5 now. I saw this writer wrote "History 4: Close to you" and I initially wanted to watch it... but now, I'm not really sure. I can't trust her.

I know some people wrote that they felt betrayed. So I should have expected this, but I still feel betrayed. What exactly was the point of that ending? WHAT? Just so you could put some poem at the end of the drama? Seriously?

Maybe I will rerate this in a couple of weeks and give it a higher rating but I doubt it. I just want to forget I ever watched this.
Should have stopped at episode 9.

Gotta give it to them... That cliffhanger was amazing and the preview was awful. Didn't tell us anything except for adding more stress.

I hate it but you gotta admit it's gonna make the week long wait even longer than usual.

Currently halfway through episode 10 and they already changed one key thing... I think it works well in the drama so that didn't deter me but I think I would have been furious if it happened like that in the novel...

Anyway, given that change I jumped to see the preview and holy mother of fudge what is happening??? I get that they just couldn't squeeze everything that happened in the novel into 3 episodes but I really don't know what to think about that whole storyline change...

They better give us at least 30 minutes of lovey-dovey moments in episode 12 otherwise i'm gonna scream bloody murder.

Still loving the show but I'm a bit sad that the prosecutor is so prejudiced.

The show is still great... But unfortunately the prosecutor is so annoying I just want to skip all of his scenes. No 2nd lead syndrome here for sure.

I mean itโ€˜s kinda weird saying there is no plot when we didnโ€™t even see the whole series? i read the novel…
I understand your point but I do feel that after 3 episodes, the show should have made me care for the characters or their relationship. Maybe the word "plot" is not really the best word to talk about this because it's a romance, and we're not expecting a complicated story.

Anyway, they delivered on the NC scenes and ok sure plot point, Rak needs to have sex in order to write... but apart from that I find it very hard to care for any of these characters which is my biggest issue so far.
By episode 3, you should have made sure to make me root for these characters and make me want to follow them.
But I don't. I don't because instead of giving us more scenes such as the beach scene in episode 3, we got a lot of silly banter but everything remained very surface level and some NC scenes that felt very gratuitious.
If it stayed gratuitious...I would say Ok. Whatever. But then out of the blue Mut asks him to say and Rak is swayed? Seriously? The few honest interactions they had was not enough to convince me Rak, a successful writer would stay on an island with Mr Beach, nor that Mr Beach would leave the sea to follow Mr Writer to the capital.

Anyway it's just my 2 cents. I'm not hating this show so far. I find it pretty meh and giving it the benefit of the doubt until next week... But the series is only 10 episodes... And they're taking very long to properly sell this ship.
I'm not a big fan of MAME in the first place... but I thought Love in the Air was way better in making us care for both couple in a faster way. Btw, Fort/Peat also had a romance that started "in bed" in that drama, and it worked better in my opinion.

But again, I'm hoping the show grows on me... but I'm no longer holding my breath.

No hate on people liking or not liking the show.

I liked your answer by the way. You explained why you liked it without spoiling so that's nice...
THOUGH... I feel the drama should be judged for what it is without taking into account the novel... But that again... is my own opinion.

Same here. I don't find this show terrible so far... At least I find it less terrible than "Sunset X Vibes" but the plot is currently nonexistent. They're in love by episode 3 and I really don't get it because we didn't see their feelings grow organically apart from the fact that they're obviously sexually compatible.

They have NC scenes and the kisses are chef's kiss (pun intended) but since the story is lacking so far, these scenes feel undeserved.

I can only be taken by an NC scene when you can feel the intensity of the feelings of the characters which need a certain buildup, there needs to be some anticipation there but here... well it's just gratuitous fanservice.

Adding to my current annoyance is the subtitles issue which is apparently only the case for people watching the show on laptops... But watching on Iqiyi, there's the recurring problem of subs not appearing that forces me to rewind - a common occurrence for English subs on that website - conversations not entirely translated which forces me to switch to Korean subtitles and text messages not translated either which is also really annoying. Fonts in thai vary a LOT and the font used in these text messages makes it very difficult for someone like me to read so I wish they spared me the effort and provided proper English subs.

I'm not sure this series is worth the trouble.
I'm gonna stick with it until next week and then make a decision... It's one episode per week so I don't think I'll mind continuing watching it but I would definitely have avoided that show if I hadn't started it as it aired. This being said, I can already add this show onto my overly long list of Mediocre Thai BLs.

Currently watching 3 airing Thai BLs: Sunset X Vibes, Love Sea and My Stand In.

So far I've got 2 Mediocre/Bad shows and My Stand In which I'm thoroughly enjoying... 1 out 3. At least it's not 3 out of 3... which for Thailand is already a good score.

Do I sound bitter? I just don't understand why Thailand keeps on producing mediocre shows like these when they've proven they can do really good BLs when they want to.
My first thai BL was Theory of Love which I thoroughly enjoyed... followed by Not Me. Not Me was such a great show, it set the bar too high, I thought most BLs in Thailand where of the same caliber...

I unfortunately started with the best. Poor me.

I really don't get it... for the English version, you get " . " or " ; "or " , "instead of words.

Aren't they using the same subs? Anyway I pay for VIP to get my 1080p release ( some even pay extra for the 2160p view), it's not to watch it on a mobile phone or a tablet where the resolution is way lower or useless ( if your tablet is small, you won't see the difference between 720p and 1080p).

Also my phone is pretty old so that type of heavy app' is a no.

I'm getting really fed up with this. Can't watch this episode in one go. Not sure I'll bother translating the rest if there's any other parts to translate because it's really getting tiresome.

It really ruins the viewing experience in my book.

So...Second phone conversation translated below. Thankfully, that one was easier for me than the previous one.EDIT:…
Conversation 2:

Rak: What's up Phi?

P: Where are you? I came to see you and there's nobody home?

Rak: I went to the countryside to write my novel.

P: Dad didn't call you?

Rak: No... Has dad called you?

P: No. But Meena has seen her grandfather near the school.

Rak: She probably saw wrong.

P: Do you think so? Hasn't Dad come to kidnap his granddaughter? Why would he have come then? Why hasn't he called neither you nor me? If something happened to Meena, what would I do? I... don't want to send Meena to school.

Rak: Phi, calm down. If Dad calls you, tell him to call me. I'll take care of it.

P: Rak, compared to me father scares you more. [ the meaning implied here is that their father is more inclined to do something harmful to Rak than to his sister, hence he's more frightening]

Rak: Phi Kwan, Don't stress about it, don't worry about me. The person you should be worried about now is not me but Meena. If you're being weak, what is Meena going to feel? She's a smart kid. If she sees/meets her grandfather again, tell her to quickly make a run for it and call me.

P: Hmm.

Rak: Trust me. [Literally "Believe in me" but in that context "trust" works better]

P: I trust you. [Literally " I believe in you" but in that context "trust" works better]

[This is a mix of Korean and Thai translation by the way here since the Korean translation was a bit amiss so I don't know how it's been translated in English]

Hope it's the last conversation this time.

EDIT: TEXT MESSAGE ( sigh)

Tongrak: I'm going to work nonstop, you don't need to come tomorrow.

( The expression used here is เธ›เธฑเนˆเธ™เธ‡เธฒเธ™ which is slang and implies he's gonna work without rest to finish his work as soon as possible)

EDIT 2 Text message (33mn 55s):

Kanmook: Phi Rak, Do you know about your friend yet?

Kanmook: Phi Vi, is being really cruel to me... like A LOT!

Kanmook: How could she think of calling me to wake me up at 5?

Kanmook: It's 5 (am)! Not 5PM!

Kanmook: Then she told me to get her something at Nakhon Pathom. ( A city located about 58km northwest of Bangkok)

Kanmook: Nakhon Pathom, Phi Rak... People on the other direction from my house ( not sure about this sentence. Checked in Korean and they translated it as " It's on the opposite direction from my house " which makes more sense but is not exactly what was written in Thai so I'm sticking with the literal translation)

Kanmook: She said I'm the only one who's got the card to enter her room.

Kanmook: Should I do anything and everything (for her) as well?

( This sentence is a bit ambiguous in English so I stuck with the (almost) literal translation but a more natural translation would be: " I shouldn't be catering to her every whim like that.")

Kanmook: I'm your secretary, not her's.

Kanmook: You understand me right? Phi Rak.

Kanmook: Right?

Rak: I don't understand.

[CAN'T THEY JUST SHUT UP NOW!]

Rak: I'm not you. How can I understand you?

[ GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUS I'm tired. Everytime I think it's finished, it starts again]

Rak: Because I've yet to understand why I came here in the first place.

Last Phone conversation:

?: No Way! What shouldn't be shouldn't be done! You must come back today!

Rak: Ok, ok. I'll come back today. Ok?

...
Doubt I'll do the same if we have the same issue in future episode. I'm y'all but it's really too long I don't have that much time nor am I that passionate about this show to bother.

For those of you who are curious about the "conversation" part and the text message, I'm reposting an answer I…
I was just about to comment on it... It's really annoying.
I fortunately have above intermediary level for Thai and Korean so I just switched to Korean subs for the conversation [ my level is ok to follow an oral conversation in Korean but not in thai yet, albeit for simple sentences] ( I still need my dictionary though, so I'm just going to give you the rough lines for the conversation) for the message it's:

"There's a storm coming tonight. Don't put on the air conditionner too strong" (sorry for the literal translation, English is my second language)

For the conversation basically:

The actress calls him and tells him that since he's picking up the phone, it's bound to rain heavily later in the day.

He answers that her forecast is late since it already rained the night prior.

She says that the sky or the heavens must have been getting emotional as well since they cried in advance.

( The word used in Korean is ํ•˜๋Š˜ which can be translated both ways depending on the context and since Thai subs are not available...)

She then asks how much he's written.

He answers back "Are you my editor?"

She says she's asking him in place of his editor who must be crying by now since his writer still hasn't sent him a rough draft of his novel.

He changes subject by asking why is she bothering her secretary and that he keeps on receiving messages of his secretary complaining. Does she want to become a tyrant?

( He actually calls her secretary เน€เธ”เธ which literally means child, implying they actually have more of an affectionate relationship between them... the term "secretary" just doesn't give it any justice)

Than after she doesn't answer, he asks what is the rumor she heard.

She answers that according to rumors, she used her "breast" to get the director to replace the main actress in the drama/movie she's currently filming. She even got a boob job.

He answers "It's too bad".

She says she's confident in her breast.

He says "Thats why you're using my secretary to relieve your stress?"

She says no. She's been having fun with his secretary for a couple of days but she saw the rumors yesterday evening. Does he know what she did? She smiled like Miss universe and asked "What rumors? I haven't heard about them yet."

He answers "From 1 to 10?"

She answers: On the stress index it's 3, on the "annoyed" index, it's 7, on the "I want to grab their hair and have a go at it" index it's 100.

He asks "Are you going to relieve your stress tonight?"

She answers " You know me so well. I'll be drinking with Phi Frost tonight"

[Ok I put both sides of the discussion for it to make sense but this discussion is too long and it's getting tedious so I'm just gonna stick to the part that are over the phones by the characters which seems to be the only ones that aren't translated.]

X (male): I couldn't sleep
Y ( female): (Because of) Work?
X: Dunno. I can write.... but it's not easy.
Y: Do you need a man?
X: Vi, don't treat me like a drug addict who didn't get his dose. I just can't organise my thoughts.
Y: Do you know what I'm likely to say?
X: What?
Y: Go run to the sea (implied meaning swim) and forget everything then get out and eat something. Since yesterday, you've accumulated stress from your work, if this goes on, you'll soon end up in the hospital.

[God I had to rewind here... I was afraid for a moment I had to switch to Japanese subs because the subs didn't appear which happens a lots with English subs but never happened to me with the Korean ones. Then realized there was no Japanese subs and I'd have to rely on the Chinese ones... which is my worst language out of all the ones I speak]

X: Stress, Bulimia, Diet. It's a perfect loop.

Y: I wish you to keep your fragile/thin body for eternity.

I REALLY HOPE, there's no other parts of the episode that are like that.
I've noticed on Iqiyi... Subs in Korean are usually better. Sometimes I notice parts in Thai that are just not well translated or not translated at all and I have to switch to Korean...
It happened on several Thai dramas. Sometimes it's the timing of the subs on some Chinese dramas. Korean subs are better timed compared to English subs and it's really annoying because I often have to rewind to see some subs that just don't appear for whatever reasons.

I wouldn't be as bothered if my level in Korean was as good as my level in English but I often have to rely on a dictionary... And I don't mind when I'm actively working on my language skill but not when I want to RELAX. Also, why don't they put THAI SUBS. Jesus! Some people are aurally impaired and need to rely on Thai subs. Given the fact that even Thai people have to go on Iqiyi to watch the uncut version WHY don't they give customers THAI SUBS. Every other platforms does it so WHY?

It's really annoying, every time I wonder if I should keep my Iqiyi subscription ( which I did using a VPN in Taiwan, otherwise I wouldn't have access to most of the Thai dramas available there) but every time I'm stuck with their exclusive contents particularly for the not cut versions of Thai dramas.

I hope the day I can forget my dictionary is not too far ahead but until then , I really hope Iqiyi ups their game because I'm currently seriously annoyed...

I wanted to relax one hour to enjoy myself before getting back to work... but translating this and writing took literally one hour. So thank you Iqiyi for messing up my stress-free time and now back to work ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’

Half in episode 2 and this is definitely not a bingeable show... I'm glad I'm watching this as it is airing...
High production but so far It's sadly going to lengthen my already overly long list of mediocre BLs which seems to be a specialty in Thaรฏland. Not great, not fun, but watchable when you have some time to waste or just want to put on something on TV and turn your whole brain off.

Also it's too cheesy. It's cheesy as fudge... If you put too much cheese in a dish you end up only tasting the cheese and all the other tastes are literally swamped by the cheese. Sorry if it's badly expressed but English is my second language so here goes. Anyway, the feet wash was just... very weird.

BUT Mos and Bank have my respect. It does require quite a talent to keep a straight face saying these over the top corny lines and playing these ridiculous situations.
Hats off to you guys!

I totally understand your comment but my advice would be... Either don't watch it or just turn your brain off.
I personally enjoyed the first episode for the high production value. I've seen so many mediocre Thai BL with poor production value that when I get one that looks slick, I don't complain too much. Also... I mean... It's Thailand... As far as BLs are concerned... Quality is the exception and mediocrity the rule.

Go into it without expectation just to pass the time and enjoy the cheesy silliness and you'll probably enjoy it as much as I did ( not as much as some of the comments mind you, but it's cool people are liking it). If you're not in the mood, better skip it for now.

Definitely not a good show to binge so far... but if you've had a nasty day at the office, it's a good way to relax and escape reality for 50 minutes in my book.

I'm guessing he still has some "leftover" memories in his head which is why he's living in this particular house.
