So too lazy to search for that comment, but somebody compared this to a makjang... and I have to say they're right. It's a genre I avoid like the plague, so if I had known, I would have definitely stayed away from this. I don't particularly enjoy rising my blood pressure and spending the whole episode wanting to break my screen. If there's some makjang elements, I like my mains to be sassy and punch back what they got as soon as it happens but this drama requires an amount of patience to see the villains' downfall ( which better be coming otherwise I'm gonna scream bloody murder) that I just don't have.
Anyway. Took me too long to realize my mistake. I hate to drop shows when I'm way past the middle mark so I'll be finishing this.
Cinematography is good. Show isn't bad, but not great either . I wasn't particularly in love with this couple before they were together nor now that they're together. They're ok, but I don't feel the chemistry, I honestly feel more a "friendship vibe" than a "lovers' vibe" but I don't care enough to be annoyed about it. At least they work well together and don't make my blood boil like most of the secondary characters.
This is the second C drama I started in 2024 only because it was recommended to me... and both shows ended up being average in my opinion ( the other one being The Legend of Shen Li). Wanted to like this as much as everybody else, but this proved to be impossible.
At episode 21, potential rating so far is a 7.5 for me: Average good but too many frustrating moments that makes this show a tedious watch at times.
PS: Also Li Yun Rui rocked that white hair. It's too bad it was only for a single episode.
I’m only on ep 4 right now and im confused at how everyone dislikes the fl. I think she’s interesting to watch…
Actually no. If you're puzzled, you're gonna remain puzzled as to why people hate her. I posted a comment weeks ago about the why she behaved the way she did without knowing the whole back story ( which we learn about in episode 8), and it basically confirmed what I thought on all fronts as to the why she was the way she was.
Some viewers have decided to hate her and no amount of explanations or reasons given for her behavior will ever redeem her in their eyes even if the ML has issues himself. One is being realistic, the other wants to make everyone happy which is just impossible. One is making the hard choices and looks like the jerk of the story ( all the while being unable to get rid of her feelings) while the other appears like the good guy because he's basically not making any choice and forcing the other party to make one. Girl is taking all the heat when actually if heat should be taken, both should.
Seems that the ML finally grew some well needed balls by the end of episode 8, but that is sure to make things get messy.
Also, FL has a terrible father. Can't defend his own daughter and let her take all the villagers' insult keeping his happy go lucky smile. Dude wants to maintain he's goody goody reputation but fails to shut out people who literally insult an innocent child in her face. And knowing what happened, I sure wouldn't forgive that guy if he was my father as well especially since he basically kept on behaving the same way after what happened, no wonder his marriage went to sh***. If somebody had wronged you, would you be able to forgive your father acting like he's still good friends with these people? Shouldn't her father support his daughter no matter what? But NOPE. He doesn't apologize, he keeps behaving the same way, and she's supposed to let all that pent-up resentment under the rug? Yeaaaaaaaah Sure. And that's not even counting what we learn in episode 7 and 8. All these adults suck.
Anyway, that's my rant. The FL isn't perfect but she doesn't deserve the backlash she's been getting in this comment section. Poor girl had to learn to defend herself because she sure wasn't helped by her useless father.
I don't get it. We're supposed to see some character progression otherwise what's the point in watching a drama with perfect people? That would be such a bore.
It does look like the other prince was the one who had the minister killed.
I'm more of the opinion he had that guy who argued with Deok Su over the red card killed. For the prime Minister... I'm more team Lord Cheon killed him but we'll know next week ^^
The new merchant lady that showed up is looking for the guy that got beaten up? Or did I read the name wrong?…
No it's exactly that. Myeong Ho has always been an ass*** given his family's wealth... What Jun Hwa did... is gonna cause some serious issues... That ass deserved it but It was difficult to watch nonetheless.
watching jun hwa go batshit crazy was painful, but at the same time, i realised he might actually pull off sociopathic…
He's terrific as a baddie and he looks HOT as one too... But NOPE. I want him as a lead next time. He's got a very long list of dramas under his belt, it's about time he got a lead role.
Jun Hwa... Jun Hwa... Jun Hwa... That was brutal. That was... my God. If I was Go Su Ra and Hong Deok Su I would want nothing to do with him. Are we supposed to root for their friendship now?
I don't want to be friends with such a brute. Can he look at himself in the mirror? Lord Cheon has really made a mess of his perfect son but at the end of the day, Eun Ho chose to search for the truth and oppose his father when Jun Hwa deliberately chose to blindly believe his.
Mae Hwa has told him she knew he wasn't like his father, Su Ra has told him he was like his father and Deok Su's reaction when she learned who he was should have told him that his father might hide something. But instead of searching for the truth, he chose to believe that Deok Su, the Inn and anything else was his from the beginning as if it gave him the right to behave the way he did.
You certainly got power now, but you've become a disgusting piece of filth that looks down on others who are less powerful than you which includes your own former friends you don't even treat as equals anymore. Myeong Ho is a scumbag who deserved what he got... but vengeance could have been delivered another way... You really stooped down very low on that one.
And that my friend, is why you're not gonna get the girl. Eun Ho who is way less gorgeous than you, is the bigger man... I should be sad for you but given your character's trajectory I have no ounce of sympathy left.
Hmm... Maybe I'm overestimating this drama but I don't believe for one second that the ledger Eun Ho has given the Prime Minister is the real one. I think it's a copy especially since there were some flying pages in the middle of the ledger and these are absent from the one Eun Ho gave. They'd be stupid to give away the original. Let them all fight for the fake and bring down the last one standing with the original.
BUT at the same time... I don't think they had the time to make a copy... It hasn't been shown that neither Eun Ho nor Deok Su has some specific talent for imitating handwritings... Maybe they contacted somebody to make a copy during the night... But honestly how could they do so when everybody's spying on everybody... Doesn't make sense.
Still. I can't believe it's the original. I still cling to the idea of them making a copy even if I can't see how they'd pull it off BUT I also thought that dumbass Eun Ho knew from episode 4 that Deok Su was a girl so... I'm not gonna bet my life on it.
I KNEW IT! I knew the nephew wasn't as oblivious as he appeared。 Dude lost his father, of course he was also preparing his revenge just like Deok Su. Romance sucks and I HATE the serious tone, but I'm so fed up with the vilains, I want to see their downfall.
Got to admit the villains are good. It's FRUSTRATING AS F*** but they're good. But my IRRITATION LEVEL is through the roof. LET THEM ALL DIE A PAINFUL DEATH.
Lol doubt it. It's one of he few bollywood movie I watched and from what I remember it was a campy comedy. This…
I honestly don't remember the overall plot so I'll be trusting you on this. As you mentioned it's been more than 20 years. I watched it on some DVDs my brother got from one his friend back then and haven't rewatched it since so.
Err because I've got other interesting things to do than watching dramas... And you can't watch everything so why bother with things you're not interested in?
Everything is on Dailymotion. So i usually find everything on it
So I checked. There's indeed an english translated version available.. But it's hardsubbed and as many harsubbed version the subs are put at the bottom of the screen instead of slightly above which makes reading them extremely uncomfortable. Can't follow what's on screen at the same time. Got to disable my two addblockers + one of the function of my VPN on top... (Sigh) Quality would be Okay with a lower resolution I guess but my screen is 3440x1440 px so 1080HD appears ok but anything below or with a slow bitrates appears blurry which seems to be the case here. In terms of screen qualityit is not awful, but it's still annoying to see that constant blur especially on the actors' faces.
Show looks great though... So I'll probably give it a try if I have no other thai shows I want to watch... 'cuz I won't be watching this full screen for sure. The subs position is too uncomfortable, and I can't bear that blurr.
Everything is on Dailymotion. So i usually find everything on it
Is it official or is it those types of harsubbed (hate those) poor quality releases? I just can't with those. I understand it's ok if you're watching on a tiny phone, but I usually watch dramas on my computer... and it's a traditional desktop with a big screen so...
It's a genre I avoid like the plague, so if I had known, I would have definitely stayed away from this. But yeah, gotta admit the tension is good ^^
It's the only upcoming K-drama I'm currently planning to watch.

BUT I hope I'm wrong and the show goes back to its lighter tone by the end of the show.
I had completely forgotten she had forged her red card! You've got a good memory ^^
That was brutal.
That was... my God. If I was Go Su Ra and Hong Deok Su I would want nothing to do with him. Are we supposed to root for their friendship now?
