First ep was slightly overly long but ep 02 was a fun watch. She's so stubborn I ended cheering with her staff when she finally acknowledged she had a secretary even if she hadn't come around to say 'hello' yet. Honestly if he wasn't that desperate for a job, would he have lasted that long?
From what we've been shown so far, he knows where his priorities lie ( best father in dramaland ... but It's definitely fiction. No way anybody can have such a healthy work/life balance with such a demanding job in South Korea).
She however... My God... Does she even have a BED? Such a waste of money, her apartment is ridiculously big, it's all grey and empty. I was getting depressed just seeing it. She definitely needs this man more than he needs her.
I'm rooting for them obviously... The father of one + Mother of one with both children being the same age is ideal on paper. In real life, I would root for that pairing since it seems the most logical choice, especially since a parent will have an easier time understanding another parent instead of being paired with a career-driven woman... But I love my drama... So I'll be rooting for the clumsy competent CEO to get her perfect father of one.

Next week we're reaching the halfway point of the drama so I'm assuming they're going to make the whole situation clear... BUT I have to say that personally I would expect Eun Ho to really be in strong denial regarding his attraction to Deok Su... and that's not what I got from their scenes. He's embarrassed but not disgusted that he's feeling THINGS when he's looking at her.
I mean It's Joseon, Sure Jun Hwa acts like he's open minded but none of them are open-minded it just doesn't go with the time-period. Either they show him struggling with a strong identity crisis... which they haven't... When Jun Hwa even suggested the idea, he strongly denied it... But from what we've seen since he saw her at the end of episode 4... the denial is almost gone, for me it's pretty clear he's admitted it to himself. Otherwise he wouldn't have turned that soft. And why did he admit it? Well. She's a girl so being attracted is completely normal. He's not gonna act on it... at least not for now since he doesn't who she is... But he sure has recognized her from the poster.
Also at the end of episode 4... I don't know for you... But I got two different looks from Jun Hwa and Eun Ho. Jun Hwa didn't look smitten, he looked completely panicked. For me he had the look of being afraid she was screwed. On the contrary, Eun Ho looked just in awe. That's when he realized that his manly Deok Su wasn't so manly after all.
In episode 6, all that talk about men being like this and that is just him reinforcing the idea that Deok Su is a man in order to protect her. In fact, during the whole episode, he's the one who kept on saying man this, man that when it's usually her who is doing it. I still have 10 minutes left for episode 6 to see, and I haven't heard Deok Su say 사나이이이이이이이 덕수 - Manlyyyyyyyy Deok Su even once when she said it in literally all episodes except in that one.
She's afraid of having blown her cover and to reassure her he's acting oblivious.
Anyway I'm 90% sure, I'm leaving a 10% chance of me being wrong. I might be completely mistaken though... But I doubt it 😆

I'm gonna make it clearer:
Eun Ho knows but pretends he doesn't know because he's not sure the others know and doesn't want to spill the beans if the others don't know.
Jun Hwa knows but is not sure Eun Ho knows so he's been trying to get Eun Ho to confess what he knows... so far to no avail.
The only person that still didn't know at the beginning of episode 6 is Su Ra. But now HE knows but has promised not to tell the others.
Hence they ALL know, Eun Ho and Jun Hwa are pretending they not know ( and the scar talk regarding the fact that all men have scars is just a diversion from Eun Ho to make sure Jun Hwa and Deok Su both don't suspect anything regarding what he may or may not know) while Su Ra doesn't have to pretend but is not gonna tell the two others either.
So...
The only person who Deok Su can be completely at ease is Su Ra ( I hope they keep the friendship angle because the two idiots mentioned above are already enough) who she knows he knows because she told him directly.

My GOD... I was planning on giving this show an 8.5 based on the fact that the series lost some serious steam along the way... But no amount of fanservice is going to save that ending. I'm halfway through the episode and it's very disapointing. They've changed lots of things from the novel that made the story better and yet the completely nonsical ending ( not talking about the bonus stories) of the novel was kept. Why SHOW? WHY? JUST NO. I know there's some good fanservice coming in the second half... And I've only got 30 minutes left to finish this series so I'm gonna finish it but there's no other way to put it... Episode 11 was okay-ish... Ep 12 is a huge letdown.
Still... It was an entertaining show... I'm just disappointed at how gooey it turned out. I really loved the wattpat dangerous edge of the ML at the beginning but once they turned up the romance... the chemistry was there but the air of mystery, danger and tension of the first 4 episodes was gone.
The final nail in the coffin was this episode. Final ratings will probably be 8. I'll be watching the rest tomorrow because I'm not in a forgiving mood and I don't think it deserves to be rated less at least for me... But if I watch the rest now, I'm sure to give it less so i'm taking a little break.

Everybody has gone to watch the last episode of When the Phone Rings... but my heart is with this show. Still light and fun. I do have to suspend my disbelief as far as Deok Su's cover wasn't blown in this episode... but since it allows us to spend more time with the Haona Quartet, I'm not complaining. Also things are progressing well with the fake Prince, so that's a bonus :D
Myeong Ho is becoming pettier and pettier with each passing episode though ... I can't wait for him to get his comeuppance

I get you. I'm the same but since it's done there's no use crying over sour milk. Let's just hope it gives us something new and refreshing but I've got to say I initially felt the same as you did. I wish they had revealed her identity around episode 8 at least for the secret Prince.
So now I'm just crossing my fingers that it's not gonna drag the drama down but so far this series as classic and tropey as it is has been delightful for me. I'm also a sucker for the guy being secretly in love with the FL and acting as a secret knight in shining armor.

What's also interesting here is the fact that she's been living as Deok Su for literally half her life now, unlike most crossdressing dramas where a girl assumes that identity pushed by circumstances but needs time to adjust. I think it's pretty obvious she's not always self aware apart from when she needs to undress.
Anyway, we'll know in a about 3/4 hours... Let's cross our fingers ^^

I was going to comment on that. Still not enough in my book. Given what's been aired so far, I would give this show 8.5 for its entertainment value (though I personally never rate a show until it's fully aired) but it's great to see it got rid of the 7 something which was totally undeserved for a show that hasn't even aired half of its episodes.
Either Fake Sa Eon was born out of an incestuous relationship... I'm betting his father raped his own daughter or something of the same disgusting nature or his mother was the daughter of the fisherman who raised him and she committed suicide because she was raped by Grandpa/Father and her own father - the fisherman - didn't defend her because when you're a RICH and POWERFUL disgusting old man, you can get away with anything.
I mean at this point, they're all twisted so what's another sordid story on top. Hope they resolve that in the first half tomorrow and we can finally get some stress-free lovey-dovey moments.
EDIT: WTF Was that cliffhanger? The scriptwriters have absolutely no mercy for its audience seriously...
