What a dumbASS seriously! Just... I can't. This is where I give up watching this show using my brain. Even Su Ra knew before him. Out of the Haona quartet, the Prince, who is supposed to be the smartest turns to be the stoopidest of the lot.

You're not the only one liking it. I also made the same comment regarding the fact that in this drama roles are reversed from the usual trope and you see how people tend to judge the FL harder when they're much more forgiving when these same traits are portrayed by males, I'm not saying this for all viewers who don't like the show... But it's a sad fact that the comments reflect this non-balanced view.

But again, I don't care much neither for ratings nor mob comments personally. It's not gonna influence my enjoyment of the show.
Personally I'm currently watching 3 airing shows. Love Scout is my favorite so far, this one is second. Check in Hanyang 3rd. All are enjoyable yet Motel California and Check In Hanyang are suffering from poor ratings on MDL which goes to show that honestly these ratings have close to no value when shows are airing. People downvoting en masse through fake accounts as mentioned by yuta.

More a question of point of view. The FL has some of the bad traits you'd usually find in MLs and that is rubbing some feathers the wrong way I guess. Personally I'm loving it but it sure is not a universal opinion on this thread.

They sure don't, given the hate she's been receiving from some viewers but it's cool. Still loving this show, no amount of hate is gonna change my mind ( considering where this show is at now, there's still 8 episodes to go so we'll see), anyone is free to think what they want. I personally think they're doing a good job portraying her. I understand she can be irritating (though personally I'm not annnoyed), but I think they're doing a good job showing where she's coming from. It's obviously easier to root for Yeon Su at present though.

I personally think she doesn't want them together. She likes Kang Hee but also likes Yeon Su as a friend... And like her other friends, she probably think Kang Hee is Yeon Su's kryptonite and that he would be better off without her... which let's be honest at present ( episode 3) is definitely true... But I trust the show to make us root for this couple at some point.

Yeah, they sure both need to work on themselves esp. Kang Hee. She sure needs to learn to talk, at this point I think she's so used to rely on herself, she doesn't feel like she needs to explain herself to anyone. It's either you stand by me or you don't, which is obviously not going to work. Even her own childhood friends don't want Yeon Su to end up with her which tells a lot about how she needs to work on her communication skill and also on how to show a bit of vulnerability, at least to the people who love her.

This being said, I actually think they're well-matched. Only somebody with such a sweet personality as Yeon Su can get under the skin of somebody that tough (at least on the outside). I think it's pretty obvious, at least to her childhood friends that both are devoted to each other, one of the two is just being dishonest which understandably can be very frustrating to watch even if that person has good reasons behind their attitude.

Personally, I understand her reasoning ( see Spoiler comment below) but I admit the drama hasn't been very explicit in explaining why she is the way she is.

I understand your point of view but personally I find it refreshing. Usually we see such traits in male characters and people are patient enough to see how that character is going to evolve and root for the couple because they're curious about how the FL's influence is going to change the ML... yet when it comes a female characters having the very same flows, people are harsher in their judgment and don't want the ML to end up with the FL...

Ok well. 20 minutes in and I totally get Kang Hee's decision. At the end of the day Yeon Su is too soft. If they get together, he's gonna be caught in the middle of his mother and his partner's constant disputes and at some point he's gonna be forced to choose a side by both parties and Kang Hee probably isn't sure he's gonna stand by her side especially when you consider he's chosen to stay in that village instead of studying with her in Seoul. She gave herself to him, that was already a strong signal of what SHE wanted. She was ok with being with him but the give away was, 'let's live far from your family'. I'm sure he wanted to leave, but given his personality, he was probably swayed by his mother's pleading... a very good indicator of what would have happened if she had stayed in that village.

My God. I can totally relate. Trust me, I've seen that happen IRL, and that can turn the sweetest person into somebody extremely bitter. Better cut it off now.
I get that she's not easy to like because she basically has from an early age the attitude that women tend to have past their 30s/40s after enduring years of disappointment and backstabbing. But I totally get her, even if poor Yeon Su doesn't get what he wants. She can't count on him to protect her, he's too soft, so she takes it upon herself, even if it means she's gonna break his heart. It's actually a pretty healthy decision as cruel as it may seem from the outside.

Of course it's a K drama and both characters can't move on so err... Either his shitty mum does a 180 or she dies. That will solve their problem.

EDIT: Nah, his whole family sucks, got to cut any link with them whatsoever. What I'm most curious about is what beef Kang Hee has with her father apart from the fact that she had to live in a motel her whole life.

Err Not really. I'm working at home, so I usually watch about two episodes a day, one at each meal. Up to 3 for Chinese shows since they're shorter . If I manage to be extremely productive and efficient I can go up to 5 episodes for a C dramas and 3 for a K dramas in a day. That's rare though.

2x 7 =14 episodes of K Dramas minimum per week
3x7 = 21 episodes of C Dramas/J Dramas/Thai minimum per week
6x7= 42 episodes of Anime minimum per week

It also depends on whether you're watching shows that are currently airing or not. One currently airing K-drama is only 2 episodes per week so It's easy to watch several at the same time. I'm learning languages so I make sure to listen to all the languages I'm learning each week or rather I try... But at least every 2 weeks ( if some shows are really good it's tough maintaining that discipline). And since Chinese shows in particular are long, sometimes I'm no longer in the mood to watch a certain show so I start another and switch in-between. That also mean that it can take me up 2 months to finish a show occasionally longer (and that's only because I can't free enough time during the day to read or have other miningful breaks and work 7 days a week)

I also don't bother with any form of social network, I don't waste my precious time on TikTok, Facebook, X you name it. Only place I hang out a bit is here... I type FAST and I can go months without interacting with anyone online. You'd be surprised by how much time that gives you. But again, I'm a millenial, I grew up without these things so... It's easier for me to live IRL than online.

You haven't seen some other people's currently watching list. I'm actually a small player in that field. 🤣🤣🤣

Man... Every time I'm watching this show and I'm back to reality, real life sucks even more than usual.

The mother redeems herself at some point but you need to watch part 2.
For the rest I understand your point of view. I wasn't particularly by the bullying but for me it really depends from drama to drama. Sometimes it annoys me like hell but in this one not that much, especially because the ML is also coming to the rescue and the FL isn't a doormat either.
But anyway different point of view.

I personally think part 2 was better than part 1 but since you didn't like this part... I'm not sure I can recommend you to watch the second one.

All of this has no value whatsoever anyway given some idiots are rating episodes before they're even aired or creating fake accounts to downvote some series.
MDL ratings are a complete joke until at least 6 months has passed since the show finished to air its last episode. By that time, the ratings bombers are bored and have moved on to destroy the ratings of other dramas.
I used to check the top list to see which drama I should watch next but so many shows I've disliked ending up being top listed and vice versa that I no longer give a sh*** Because of course the fan mob also does the same. They uprate episodes not yet aired if their favorite oppa, eonni or whatever kpop member is starring regardless of the quality of said dramas.

There's also those writing reviews after one episodes has aired... JUST to be the first so that their reviews are gonna be more seen... Even if they're going to completely rewrite it by the time the series end...

Bottom line: Ask advice directly from people in comment sections and use this site only to keep a list if you're the type of person that likes to keep track of things. Otherwise, forget the rest. Even MDL articles are starting to go downhill with all these useless gossip articles that has no place here.
