in ep 12 i can totally see an archer shooting He Yan dead. End of the story. Can directors please be a bit more realistic in future??? I know that we need tension and crisis and bold/daring moves and there is a tradition of challenging by the leaders in the battle, but seriously how could an army ride into camp without any alarm? You don't need to be a military expert to tell this is rather blah. Not even an artistic license to make it look real. I like the adaptation logic (imo better than the novel) but there is a reason why this is only rating this low.
I have a question for anybody who lived in China during the winter (I did not): how can people sit in the house with all the windows open and snow coming down (presumably around the freezing point in the outdoor temperature) and not freeze their bums off???? If this is true for the historical happenings, I have a deep respect for Chinese folks and their steel bodies. I get cold below 64F/15C. Cdramas show this a lot, but even with silk cloaks this is gotta be uncomfortable
i know and hope it will be that because in ep 11 he finally gets the truth on who killed the girl he doted on. So there is hope! we are not even halfway through. Curious about "sinful" part indicated by the title. So far it's not that bad
Update after ep 23: synopsis.. when an imperial consort returns home, a shocking death occurs, bringing many entanglements…
you gotta write a review for this. I am watching as it airs and I am not able to put into coherent paragraph what I had seen and experienced, Your summary is pretty comprehensive.
I can't believe this nonsense with the poison is escalating , and even worse, there's no antidote!
well, it builds tension and worry about what is going to happen, but they are overdoing it imho. This year is filled with stuff like that, and I am no longer impressed with this trope although WXY is doing really good job shifting from being carefree to wanted to dying. Nice range. The same trick was used in another drama (ML in Ban Xing Fu Sheng could also showcase subtlety of being born poisoned and making peace with self and world not knowing how much time he has left).
This is amazing! Bravo to whoever wrote these characters! I usually stay away from toxic relationships (like Love and Bid Farewell with multiple sexual assaults) but even though there are some shady moments here - this couple is truly well matched in how they hate each other with no romance and idiotic "but I love him/her". Keeping my fingers crossed that they will stay in character until the issue gets resolved rather than forgiving and falling into each other's arms just so we could be happy as viewers. This director (Zhou Mu Han) delivered a striking yet poorly executed plot in Always My General so I don't have high hopes for good handling of this one, but hey, miracles can happen and people technically speaking get better with time, right?
the really cool thing in this drama is how different people ("rivals" even) are so smart to figure the cases out without certain necessary elements. Showing them come to the same conclusion independently - some with witnesses, some with evidence, some with testing a hunch and confirming the hypothesis - is fantastic as they complement the viewer whole view of what happened. AND nobody is a bumbling baboon here or a village idiot. They all have their talents and shortcomings.
yea, I was so hyped up about this, but now dropping points for the stupid characters/moves. And historically majority…
oh, you got me! πππππ€£ but I read the novel and know how it ends. No way there will be surprises there. And actually I like how they changed the original story kicking out reincarnation
Vertical drama. This is what I can share based on IQIYI's posted synopsis and my own completion of the 82 episodes. After a base explosion modern day special agent and military doctor Xi Yang transmigrates into the body of the most notorious and spoiled noblewoman of the Xuan Zhou dynasty. Upon arrival she finds herself afflicted with an uncontrollably potent aphrodisiac and is forced to sleep with the Regent prince to release it. Slandered and bullied by matriarch of the family where she belongs, attempted to be poisoned and assassinated XY shocks everybody with being bold, intelligent and fearless, and disregarding the ancient family rules of obedience. Beach watch. Pretty people, uncomplicated plot. Predictable. 7/10 in my view
