I am watching a few old things for the same reason - tired of murderous glances and ridiculous plots. Have you seen Back for You? That is a good and easy one. Don't get discouraged by Angela Baby being FL - she is in the coma for 6 episodes 🤣

I looked at the cast the synopsis and a bit of comments and I am not watching it either. Even the temptation to see a few gorgeous outfits is not enough.

I hear you. some short dramas and even mini or micro dramas are fantastic, both in script and acting, but there is a plethora of mediocre and downright ridiculous productions. Actually, I am grateful for anything shorter than 40 episodes and an hour long because these short nonsense dramas taught me how to drop stuff that 1) I don't enjoy or 2) really does not represent any standard. 😁 Have you seen Embrace in the Dark Night? Completely idiotic plot, but boy, the music, the romance scenes, wow!
Do you enjoy watching anything else concurrently? There is literally nothing major or earth shattering good that airs right now (in the genre that I like) so I am looking for inspiration

Next to Erniu from Si Jin and Ermao from Legend of Female General the puppy gets my nomination for the best supporting actor.

In the first 3 minutes of ep 1 you have enough stuff to give a viewer vicarious PTSD, but then they try to make it into a comedy? I am not sure I see the reason for making her an amazing cook other than dying old man calling for more food or ML recognizing FL by the tofu flower in such underwhelming way. I am going to wait when all eps are out to then see them in one swoop. At this point while I like actors, the story and characters are not that outstanding.

because they are the same sexy hunks. DGC is a body trainer so his torso is definitely better, but they really practiced making on line kisses look like the real thing.
I feel for Yan Zi Xian's contract calamity - he had to play such bad character last year in Love and Bid Farewell. I nearly puked and started to fear his dramas. Tong Tong will make any role look like she is it so I don't worry about her but YZX may become persona non grata because of these funky roles

hey, can you share your thoughts on what they did with the drama vs the novel? I really did not like how the drama was created, but I bet the book was great. I can see that Female General would be at a risk to glorify the roles for the sake of the actors like in The Double. but hope it won't be the case. After the drama (The Double) I am not sure I want to read the novel... what do you think?
