There is no synopsis so here is a prologue: during Liang Dynasty plague a 9-year-old who somehow does not get sick sells herself as a slave to a miracle doctor in exchange for saving her family. Her parents, older sister and brother survive, but the girl disappears... She becomes the doctor/poison master's 17th test subject (the previous 16 all dead already). Very unlike the boy in Joy of Life, she suffers all kinds of torture including being abandoned in the wilderness to fend for herself, fed poisons that make her want to kill herself, etc. -all before turning 12 years old, which is a huge set up for having a FL with childhood trauma and personality disorder, namely sociopathic behaviors. But when her master dies 7 years later, she goes back home only to find cold cinders and ashes of the house and the news that within one year her older sister married into a merchant family in the capitol, died there, her brother (a gentle scholar) became a wanted criminal and was executed - also in the capital, her father on his way to capitol to save his son met with bandits on otherwise peaceful river and was killed, and her mother collapsed from all the calamities and died in the fire which she probably caused herself. The girl (described as a spitting image of Ju Jing Yi - very attractive but puny) goes to capitol to seek truth,... where the plot thickens. How do you like it so far? If Li Yun Rui could play her counterpart - the guy who is very suspicious of her, distanced and smart - I would watch it in an instant!
Watch Hard to Find. It's very great. But WZX is the villain. He played the role so well. I also love Zhao Yi Qin…
and that is what gives ML actor such an incredible range of performance in GIM: shy guy, bold girl, man in love, woman enamored, man sacrificing himself for the woman he would never get.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Well he was a "Good Boy" in Agarwood and well it was a boring mess as a result imo.
do you mean season 2? I thought he was much better as the courtesan at the beginning than the swooning lover boy later. Tong Tong was fantastic in there and the 3 of them tied together wanting to go to the bathroom was awesome!
if you talk to men privately about their fantasy - good girl that is bad only for him plus mommy to take care of him and a whore who can do for him what he only dreams about and does not mind being treated certain way. Don't get me wrong - we all have fantasies and bondage, or dominance is fine if both agree to it; I just don't like stupid violence.
I thought first "What a masculine, ugly woman!" 😅
he is a character actor and plays same stuff over and over again. Sorta like Li Fei, but Li Fai has the kissing and looking down at her lips down pat. Nobody does it like him!
I thought first "What a masculine, ugly woman!" 😅
he is an ok actor. his very first modern drama was fun. I had a bit of difficulty with the beginning of Reincarnated Lovers but then he was just pure joy
you may want to read the comments below or wait for a review of the whole series. I promised myself not to watch things that make me cringe this year. Dropped it at ep 2 because ML abusing FL is not my thing.

I watched nearly all his dramas after being taken prisoner by his role in Reincarnated Lovers. As far as prettiness of the guys dressed as females- I wonder if there is a voting list for that? Deep Lurk Cheng Yi, Love and Strife Cai Zheng Jie, Pretty Boy Darren Chen- the list is long
Will someone please spoil for me the above cover picture? It looks violent. Thanks.
see his sinister smile? Yep, he is that. Who is holding the knife? Which direction is the blade facing? Who is attacking and who is blocking? After you finish watching you will get it - the intention of the woman is to attack. He is blocking her but not hurting. That smile is knowing "you have the right to feel what you feel while I am a step ahead of you". He holds her with his left arm and smirks to himself as if thinking "you just wait, there is a big surprise waiting for you and you will change your mind". She looks serious but not pissed. More like wanting something badly but a tad confused. Is that good enough?😊
