I re-watched the airport scene and her mother did not tell him to pick her up. When asked why Nan Feng was not picking her up, the response was that she was busy with work. Plus, while it was a "small thing" for Nan Feng, it was the most important thing for him. And let's not forget the flowers and the decorated trunk. I acknowledge that he took her to her parents house because she told him to. However, that raises the questions of why didn't he tell her at the start, or why did he do as her mother told him?

You stated "he mediated between zhi and her mother so many times". I would point out that he was in Germany for over 8 years and did not come back, so I am not certain how he could have mediated between the two.

Finally, you did not address his listening in on her phone calls; trying to read her texts; and turning up on the ski trip. He has just started as an orthopaedic surgeon (I thought he was an oncologist initially), yet he can go to the other side of the country without any consequence (probably because his parents own the hospital?). For the record, my daughter is a general surgeon at a local hospital and there is absolutely no chance she could just be away from the hospital on a whim.

I cannot comment for others, but if a ML exhibited these types of behaviours towards the FL, I would raise the same criticisms and concerns.

When he met her at the airport, she ducked under his arms and she told him the flowers, etc., were too much. He tells the friends of Chung that he will wait for her forever.

These are not the the actions and words of someone who respects and loves (yes, loves) someone. It is obsession and stalking.

Absolutely, there seems to be a group of accounts who have rated the series low. How someone can rate an episode before it has aired? There are 43 "people" who have rated tomorrow's episode at an average of 7.3 and 41 have rated EP 23 (the last one) at 7.4.

Wei Zhi definitely knows what her parents (and Yi Ming's?) expect of her. At the same golf event, her mother said she was going to start the engagement process. I would have thought/hoped that both her mother and Yi Ming would have had some level of respect when she point blank said that she would not marry Yi Ming.

What is perversely interesting is that Wei Zhi's mother is clearly the dominant partner in the marriage and is a successful business person, yet she is dictating who her daughter's career and who she marries.

I understand and agree with the frustration with the lack of boundary setting. The only explanations (and these are not excuses) are
-- Yi Ming is a longstanding friend;
-- He is the brother of her best friend (although is debatable right now);
-- The two families have known each other for a long time (is there a business connection?)

None of the above excuses Wei Zhi, but they could explain why she is reluctant to be too aggressive in her rejection.

Thanks for that information. I will try to find where it is said that he was away for 8 years. Regardless, he is way beyond delusional and well into the obsessive stalker realm.

I am fully onboard with that assessment. I wonder what his parents do because I strongly suspect that this is being planned as a business marriage by the parents.

A quick follow-up to my rant below regarding how I am really enjoying the way the director/producer is showing the Wei Zhi's different reactions to Chong and Yi Ming.

She gets annoyed or frustrated whenever Chong does something she does not like. Sometimes she will sharply say something. Other times, does not say anything but gives the "evil eye" stare. To me, it is clear that these actions are being used to show the growing emotional connection between the two.

However, with Yi Ming, she readily answers and responds, and does not chastise him. And does not get angry with him. For me, these are signs that she views this a purely friendship. She has known him long enough to overlook the faults. It is also suggests that she has no knowledge of how he feels towards her and his intent.

Having just watched Ep 12, I feel I have to re-iterate how obnoxious Yi Ming's stalking attitude towards Wei Zhi is. Apologies for the length of it, but, as far as I am concerned, there are no redeeming qualities in this character.
-- Aside from the fact that he tags along to the new location, he gives food to Wei Zhi in front of everyone else and proceeds to tell them and her what she can and cannot eat.
-- He has known her since she was 10, if not earlier.
-- Nothing I have heard indicates that he has ever told her how he feels.
-- He went to Germany to study medicine. From the patient case conversation, he seems to be an oncolgist (cancer specialist). A quick check shows that medical school in Germany lasts 6 years and 3 months, and then a residency is required. I could not find the length for Germany but in Canada to become an oncologist takes 5 years of residency (3 years internal medicine and 2 years medical oncology).
-- So he was in Germany for over 11 years, but does not appear to have been in touch with Wei Zhi, and did not even tell her he was returning. [A quick maths check shows that he left for Germany when she was no older than 14. -- However, he is very comfortable telling the friends of Chong that he wants to protect her forever and will wait just as long for her to decide to be with him.

All of the above does not even take into account
-- The scene at the airport
-- Turning up at her house uninvited
-- Obsequiously holding the umbrella to shield her mother from the sun during the golf
-- Listening in on her phone conversations
-- Trying to read her text messages

You could be right. I just hope that the show does not expend too much time getting to the resolution.
