Chemistry is ON-FIRE!!

I agree with everyone saying how absolutely smoldering and sexy this romance is between the mainleads! Added to that we have transmigration and a living host inside of FL who declares how much percent of feelings have grown inside of Male Lead for the Female Lead. I love that concept so much!!My first drama with the main actors and they are simply terrific together!

"Not even once did i win over myself, Without any strength i failed fleeing from my own heart" -OST

This is a old-school action/ romanctic drama lakhorn from 2002 and like the title says, it is based aorund a certain ring called: Jewel Encircled Diamond which is first seen on our heroine`s Pan Pailin`s (portrayed by Namfon Kullanat) finger for the first time at her parents fashion show in Hong Kong. Chaos erupts and tragedy befalls when her both parents get shot and one man in particular manages to rescue her, our charming but cynical hero Komute (portrayed by Bee Petvisetsiri).

The plot thickens even more when she moves in with her uncle and tolerates the verbal abuse from her jealous and greedy cousins and then she from nowhere gets forcefully engaged to the oldest son of a rich family. It happens to be the man Komute`s sister had been engaged to and got her pregnant with- and who also cruelly left her. Komute`s rage intensifies and he takes his sister to the wedding and curses Lin & Chanon. His hatred intensifies even more when he has to travel to Hong Kong and meets Lin on the journey- not knowing that she actually had a secret deal with her uncle to return the Jewel Encircled Diamond to a Mafia Don. And from then on Lin gets chased with Komute having to rescue her and escape with her everytime. This was an unforgettable journey indeed, what an adventure!!!

Their chemistry was literally sizzling my computer screen, omg how i loved them bickering. Those rare tender moments of him just looking at her longingly and kissing her cheek...ahhhhh my heart!!I love how Komute hated so badly to fall for her against his will. But ahhhhh how it was to late. He fell before he even knew her poor smitten hero. Lin was a beautiful and vulnerable heroine who strived to be strong and to not be helpless, as she was in most cases. We have the supporting sidekicks James & Alice who actually were the children of the Mafia Don who always helped Komute & Lin. This was a amazing drama, never a boring episode!

" I should never have came back into your life. I lit that fire of vengeance which was the starting point of all lies and pain."

- Yodthian

***
"Behind the Revenge" (which also has the title "Fai Luang") uses the havoc of fire to actually describe in the type of mess its plot is in for. Its remade from the original version that aired in 1998 that got very popular back then, this new version has changed a lot of important details and dynamics of the plot. Both versions however starts the same way. Our tenderhearted and selfless heroine Yodthian (starring Pimmy Pimrapa) enters the funeral of the one man she always has felt gratitude towards...knowing she will cause eruption from his family members. The reason being she is the younger sister of the man`s mistress that is hated by his wife and children. One person that gets specially furious is his son, the formidable heir Noppharuj (starring Son Yuke) and he throws her flowers to the ground and burns them to ashes...the moment is symbolic. Its that moment the vengeance starts with the storm and Noppahruj don`t back down to the end.

Who else was madly excited when the trailer released??!!! I was! I totally fell for the original version with Willie & Tao and was soooo excited when the new version would star Son & Pimmy in those roles since they are absolutely terrific actors. After its airing i got kinda dissappointed by the negative feedback it has got here on MDL, but i decided to give it a shot since i love the original story so much. We do get some romantic scenes in the new version, but the passion between the main-leads flared like instant fire whenever they were in the same room in the original version.

The character of Phonwalai (starring Bee Namthip) was the driving force of this plot. She is the Anti-heroine who craves revenge and does anything to step up the climber to get what she wants. She is extremely selfish, manipulative and ruthless when she needs to be. But she is also a bruised soul. So lonely and anxious in her sadness and grief and trauma. Not even her younger sister is able to help her. She does however stumble upon several rocks as soon as her weakness appears before her and gives way more attention to her sister than she liked. Nitan is such a charismatic villain. He is the joker and holds all the cards from the start. Nitan & Walai are like two stumbling rocks, one minute allies and the other enemies. One of the most toxic relationships i ever have seen on-screen must be between them, how they hated each other and how the other always got a upper hand. Wow, they made the episodes so exciting.

I may be generous with my rating, but the fact is that i actually binge watched this lakhorn in three days and immensely enjoyed the ride. It was a melodramatic thriller with a central love-story to the core, but absolutely fascinating with its business politics, actions of revenge and betrayals and the dysfunctional relationships that came through. I loved the way the story developed however dramatic to the events that changed everything. I never got bored with this drama.

"Sawan Biang" is a story that is very dear to me. Which is also the reason why i have watched 2008 version, 1998 version and now 1988 version. I love this story with its dynamics and complex characters. It also speaks up to how the upper class society was back then. This version stars the iconic thai actors Sam Yuranunt as Kawee Worawat and Tui Monrudee as Narin. We also have Mee Pisamai starring as Narin`s and Leela`s mother, have seen her in many other lakhorns.

While the 1998 version had been a pure gothic horror story, this 1988 version despite being older managed to craft a more empathic, emotional and developing plot-line. This is not the typical slap-kiss drama i am used to since slap-kiss usually involves more physical encounters between the main-leads (like 2008 version) but this version managed so well with the tension between Kawee and Narin. Both of them are unstoppable forces despite being different. Tui managed to show the fierce spirit of Narin whenever she encountered Kawee so well, she did not need to speak but spoke with her eyes. Splendid. Want to watch more lakhorns with this actress. Sam Yuranunt is a dynamic actor who created his own Kawee. He is selfish, rude, condescending and takes a lot of time to reflect and change. But this actor also managed to convey a charm to this character, a certain childishness that isn`t there in the other versions. It made him more endearing to me. I also love how he actually got feelings for her sooner and even bought a gift for her in secret.

We also see how careful the romantic developement is between Kawee and Narin. Especially when he pursues her when she is pregnant. They have these deep meaningful conversations and they got closer everytime.I like that. I am surprised by how much i enjoyed this version, much more than the 1998 version.

There is this bittersweet feeling i get whenever i finish watching a tv-drama i have come to greatly antcipate, enjoy and love."Princess and I" is one of those tv-dramas,i am happy yet sad at the same time. I have followed the main-characters Mikay,Gino and Jao for 210 episodes in this last month, following their journey of self-discovery,change,developement and realizations.Mikay is portrayed by the very beloved filipino star Kathryn Bernardo. She is a very humble human being,hard-working,loving and tough when hard times hit her and also very vulnerable.Good qualities on a future princess and queen.Kathryn being so young carried this role very well.I also watched this without english subtitles so i am very much aware that i have missed some great dialuge,so i will certainly re-watch it someday.Ah,i will miss this series!I also love that Daniel & Kathryn started dating around the time they made this telserya!

Gino Dela Rosa (portrayed by the filipino superstar Daniel Padilla) has his introduction after 12 episodes, but he takes the viewers with storm with his badass personality. He comes from a rich but very toxic family,so he is easily manipulative, ruthless and selfish when it comes to his behaviour and he stops from nothing to spit back on the people he despise. It changes when he comes to know Mikay, she shows him a whole new perspective on life and as time went on he fell completely in love with Mikay,he lost his arrogance and pride, and became her very passionate, stubborn and humble pursuer throughout the whole tv-drama. He would dream about her, wait in the rain for whole hours for her, travel in a rainy storm just to look for her, wear a blue teddy suit just to stop her date with another guy, face his family for her, become a man for her, protect her, and finally...to die for her.Even when she didn`t love him and loved another man...he still fought for her heart...he still fought for her to love him back even when he suffered so many times for it.Just wow, what a character!

"Luerd Hong" was the acting debut for many of the main-leads who are currently viewed as superstars of Thailand, especially Bee Namthip and Pong Nawat who came to develop their acting skills later on and became one of the head stars in Thai Lakhorns. This was also however Tew Sintiprab`s first time on-screen and the last.I love the opening theme which kinda reminds me of 90s Beverly Hills in some way because usually Thai Lakhorns doesn`t use openings that way,i really loved it in here.We all know the notorious trope:switched births which leads to much anxiety, drama, forbidden love and sorching romance and misunderstandings.Trainwreck as a whole and that is why this story is so entertaining.Bee had nice chemistry with both Tew and Pong and i know Bee also starred in many more lakhorns later with Pong.I will admit i prefer the later version starring Son and Vill more since their romance are better developed and they had more scenes together.

"Torranee Ni Nee Krai Krong" is the earliest lakhorn subbed starring Andrew Gregson (thank you so much AndrewGregsonFC for the eng subs, don`t know what i would have done without you ) which is also the original version since it also got remade over a decade later starring Nadech and Yaya.I am proud to say that i have seen both versions and absolutely adore both of them! The original version is from year 1998 and stars Andrew Gregson as the golden soul with the passionate heart Athit who comes to work for his grand mother to atone for his father`s sin but he never imagined to meet the spitfire of his grandmother`s adopted sister, the naughty Dauranee played by Pock Piyathida.

As i have mentioned before,i had already seen the Nadech&Yaya version before watching the original one and i quite frankly never thought i would ever be watching the original version. But lately i am so darn obsessed with Andrew`s acting and with me loving this story and to my luck also having eng subs i decided to watch it.Its a story that takes on many factors about life and nature. About doing your duty and contributing to your community, following your dreams, respect and care for the nature and doing good deeds.Grandma Daeng teaches a lot and always gives without taking anything back. She is a lovely admirable character very important to the story since her fate lead it to the way the story lead.Athit loves agriculture and is a hardworking and honest young man...no wonder he steals his grandmother`s heart. He has such a beautiful soul. But he still can`t resist teasing the young Dauranee who tries to make his life miserable at every turn, but while also growing up together and individually over the years their friendship blossoms more deeper and finally becomes the fruit of love the matchmakers around Athit and Dauranee saw coming from afar (with matchmakers i mean the grandmother, aunt Kaew and Klerng). This story is so much filled with humor and charm and showcases very beautiful scenes with the nature. The last two episodes were filled with so much romance that i couldn`t catch my breath and the chemistry between Andrew and Pock sizzled like crazy. How beautiful they looked in their youth and Andrew is one stunning eye candy i can`t take my eyes away from. I won`t ever forget this tale...it made me cry and laugh and smile and swoon and just took my breath away at times, wow!

"Massaya" is a lakhorn that have several adaptions but i decided to watch the very favorable version from 2000 starring the very young and handsome Andrew Gregson as the Praek ,Lak Rattanamahasarn who is a military Captain and the very beautiful actress Buachompoo Ford portraying the Nangek, spirited tomboy Massaya whose name is the title. This lakhorn was very well directed, written and acted.Everyone gave natural A-star performances and it was hard remembering that this story is fiction since its very well delivered in a natural way that makes you live inside the story with all these characters.

This lakhorn is very enchanting to watch.Watching Lak travel to the countryside to meet his cousin Massaya by his grandmothers order and to bring her back to the Rattanamahasarn House, was a delight. On his way he meets the very spirited Massaya where she chases him away with a monkey. That scene was much fun!Despite bickering early on they become fast friends and Lak becomes the person Massaya trusts the most.Massaya will need to adapt herself to her new family, new social class and a new home in Bangkok. It makes it even harder having her snobbish aunt and cousins bullying her and looking down on her all the time.Lak gets pressured by his grandmother to marry and he also has a secret undercover mission to succeed when in mids of all this chaos he has a commander abusing him in every way.

Massaya and Lak are two wonderful characters.I adored Massaya for her intelligence, spirit and honesty. She wore her heart on her sleeve and devotedly loves Lak all along. She also becomes great friends with one nice cousin she has,her neighbour who is a singer,a prince who falls for her and a crazy photographer taking pictures of her all the time. But she is a loyal soul and only loves her beloved Lak all along.Lak has this youthful energy to him that Massaya was drawn to.He understood Massaya and supported her in everything. He is a very brave soldier and refused to back down from any challenge.Such a charming and handsome man,Andrew`s portrayal of him totally won my heart! This is one of the most slow-burn romances i have ever seen, but it was so bittersweet!

I finally found the time to sit down and watch one of the most beloved thai tales,"Ngao Asoke". I have watched the original version from 1999 and loved it completely. This 2008 version actually made me less impressed,as i enjoyed it but didn`t come close to loving it.Pong Nawat brought out the life into the character Monthai Mahartawet, his optimistic smile just charmed me to my toes!I love his chemistry with Peung Kunya (although Ae and Ek had stronger chemistry) who played the golden-hearted Beeyachat Prakaiprik. It was the actress first and only female lead role,as Peung left the thai film-industry after its success.Beeyachat was so adorable when she smiled, but it frustrated me when she had to cry everytime Monthai confronted her.I know that she was tormented by her masters, and that she was learned by early age that being grateful is the most important thing in life. For that she always tried to protect the evil Viyada, despite her cruelty.

Monthai and Bee have an early bond that only grew stronger with time. With Bee writing letters and sending gifts to Monthai for 8 years when he was in Australia, when it was Viyada who was Monthai`s girlfriend and was supposed to do it.We all watchers can see that it is all along Bee,that Monthai truly loves. It also takes long time for him to realize it.I also wish we had more sweet scenes between Mon and Bee,they always fought throughout the story..and the few sweetness we got was so swoon-worthy!

As i have mentioned,i do prefer the original version starring Ek and Ae,just because they have way better and intense chemistry, and because Ek`s Monthai realizes earlier the bitchiness of Viyada, both Ae and Ek excuted the characters of Bee and Mon much better actually. We also got to see a wedding scene in the original version`s ending!

A shattering Tale about surviving the loss of a loved one, forgiveness, family, and the most pecuilar of them all: which is fate. The fates of the characters of Ken Theeradeth and Aom Phiyada which are the acclaimed smart Business man Ittsara and the pretty timid Resturant owner Plaifon are interwined already from the start and it keeps itself on a tight path for them to meet each other, all over again. Ittsara`s loss of his fiance which was caused by a car accident and in which Plaifon`s brother was driving the other truck, makes him a living death human being who just wishes for peace. Finding the resturant of Plaifon`s and watching the cheerfulness and the warmth of Plaifon`s family, he decides to keep coming and it doesn`t take long until Plaifon asks him to be the chef in her resturant.Getting his heartbroken heart cured Ittsara struggles to keep his double life up, and does against his will fall in love with Plaifon despite the two always bickering.

I have watched quite a lot of thai lakhorns, and this one is without a thought the most different one.The build up in the romance is very slow, and the melodramatic element isn`t as crazy as its usually are in lakhorns. This lakhorn could easily have been another "Kluen Cheewit" drama, but with different circumstances and for Ittsara`s character to be a strong-minded one he keeps his senses alive and decide to keep on with his life without any grudges.Despite a very obsessed Nang Rai (second lead female) and a despicable villian, this lakhorn is very simple but it leads to a very heartbreaking conclusion that made me break into tears, and not stop crying for an hour.I don`t regret watching this lakhorn, as Aom and Ken put out incredible performances and had a very nice chemistry together-how they become friends to lovers is a natural and pure journey, and with the color-ful and funny family rooting for them and the little nephew Soda you will expect yourself a very fluttering and warm love-story.

"What`s going to happen.What will happen tomorrow,Por?"

"Tomorrow,I`ll be loving you Kaew.We will get through this together"

-Por and Kaew

"Proong Nee Gor Ruk Ter" (which means:"Tomorrow, I’ll Still Love You") is about the college-sweethearts Poramin and Kaewkanya who have a bright future ahead of them, with plans of marriage and babies.Sadly, they never saw the tragedy coming...a murder that would tear both of them apart.Aom Piyada is such a expressive actress with a great beauty and talent.I love all her lakhorns, and loved watching her express Kaew`s torment and misery in having to abandon Por,for the sins his older sister done to her own sister.Pong Nawat`s character Por who from the start was the smitten and devoted lover of Kaew`s,but turns into a cold cynical tycoon after she breaks up with him. After being apart from each other for 6 years many things have changed, but not the everlasting love they have for each other.

"No!I don`t believe you!I refuse to believe that you don`t love me anymore!...Tonight i will be waiting at the boat. The same boat where i asked you to marry me...i will wait for you all night.I will wait until you come." -Por

I just loved watching the interactions between Kaew`s family, they were a lot of fun, especially the relatives Jee and Thoom.Kaew`s younger brother himself have a blossoming romance with his patient, the dynamic racer Pee..who it turns out is the brother of their enemy. It was bitter-sweet watching the longing between Por and Kaew after they reunite, and he becomes her boss and literally orders her around like a slave.Their hate-love relationship was so entertaining and romantic, and i have to say that Pong and Aom have one of the BEST on-screen chemistrys ever!Every scene with them, and the way Pong looked at her just made me sigh with happiness!
This is a lakhorn from 2009,so expect lots of crazyness,screaming,slaps,suicide,murder,jealousy...and there is never a thing our main-leads doesn`t get through...their bond only grew stronger. But even so,this lakhorn took the over the top-ness to a whole another level.I enjoyed it anyway!

"For the past six years i threw everything away.I tried to run as far away as possible, thinking that i could forget you.But i couldn`t Kaew. The further i am away from you...the more i miss you.I know that me being here..has put you through hell. But i am sorry Kaew.I just can`t leave you." -Por

I watched the Master Edition of "The Crown Princess" that consisted of 13 Episodes. Being a hard-core NY-fan myself i was one of the many people who looked forward to this lakhorn since the start of 2017.I have watched and do appreaciate Anne Thong`s former productions, so i knew this would be a terrific story..and starring our beloved koo-kwans as the main-couple already made this golden for me. As you can see by my rating, i was not disappointed.
The plot itself is around a throne that has to be protected, but it so much more than a throne everyone wants. Its the life of everyone around this story, and that it can touch everyone.

Alice Madeleine Theresa Phillips is head-strong and a fighter and warrior of her own. She is a princess who early in her life had to learn to defend herself and survive all hardships and weapons her enemies keep throwing at her. No wonder she never could trust anyone easily, since every one around her wanted to kill her for the throne. For her protection she has to marry the honorable and brave Lieutenant Commander Davin Samuthyakorn and takes on the identity as a commoner. Its a delight to watch Alice throw herself into danger, in which Davin always ends up saving her. These two lonely souls finds solace in each others company, therefore they fall irrevocably in love. Deep down knowing its impossible for a commoner and princess to marry, these two struggles to accept their fates and duties, instead of following their hearts.

Its a powerful made lakhorn with a very powerful message, and i am happy that this lakhorn ended with a nice conclusion and a HEA for our main-leads. Can someone agree with how smothering hot Nadech looked in his performance as Davin, and just how magnificently beautiful Yaya looked as Alice! Just wow, these two together totally lighted up the screen! I love one dialuge from Davin which expressed the pureness and selfless nature in his love for Alice: " I am just happy looking up at the sky, without ever having to possess it".This lakhorn has always showed us Alice and Davin`s impossible love-story through that metaphor-in which Davin is as strong as the mountain, and Alice as high as the sky.

There are moments of laughs (especially in the start of their marriage) and moments of bitter-sweet romance and moments of honesty...and moments of deadly action..and indeed moments of heartbreak. I still cry every time Nadech and Yaya cry...and they poured their hearts out while playing Davin and Alice!
I also have to give credit for Sara Legge for her supporting character! She made one of a hell performance as Princess Kate and i am amazed by her! Intad Leowrakwong as the care-free Prince Alan and his blooming romance with Danika was so freaking adorable- buddies to lovers! There was also the third couple i actually wished had more screen time (not always that happen) but i got what i got. There was also some unnecessary flash-back scenes near the end, which i think they could have replaced with more love-scenes with Davin and Alice.
I also love the (real) kiss-scenes between Alice and Davin! And tell me about how more dramatic the episodes got near the end of it, trust Anne about sticking to the lakhorn closure about dramatics, just love it! The love-letter Alice got from Davin in the last episode totally made me cry my heart out damn! I have watched every lakhorn with Nadech and Yaya now, and just wow how they complete my expectations and hopes, the dynamics in their romance are different one in this drama, as their ranks and duties take much place in the distance between them. But the longing between Alice and Davin always shows in their eyes...so much that even that keeps the chemistry alive in fireworks!

Vehement Transactional Toxic Realtionship-In its core two soulmates falling for one another.

I remember reading old-school Harlequins with a trope like this with FL being ML´s live in mistress-him giving her anything for full access to her body- except for giving her his heart. LuYu Chen is a hero that once you sees that he truly cares for his heroine, while in his passionate pursuit of her, that nothing is quite as it seems. He is a man who is caged by a sworn duty to his parents in the name of his older brother who died in the past. He does not live his life for himself, the upcoming engagement he has with SFL is only a neccesary chore for him. Although eventually, in hurting his heroine, he only hurt himself.

Despite thinking she may not love him, he should deep down know that she is not a woman who would ever willingly be anyone`s mistress (even if money was involved) if her heart was not involved. The sweetly way they treated each other, the way he held her hand, the way he could NOT STOP kissing her in any scenes whatsoever. I mean, you could see through his eyes how he found her utterly desirable! I find LiZi Jie a terrific gorgeous actor, this is my second Vertical i have finished starring him!

My feelings are all over the place...wow!

This is not my first watched version of this story but i was intrigued by the leads and how they would execute this story. And i got amazed!!THE PERFORMANCE, THE CHEMISTRY, THE DEVELOPEMENT...i was amazed by how the characters made me feel with them and for them!

Xiao Xue is a beautiful leading lady, her talent and nack for telling a story through her eyes, so marvelous for so young. She carries the story everytime she appears on-screen! She portrayed the trauma and insecurities so well of her character, the constant haunting of being over weight and having (blackmailed) the handsome dream classmate of hers into dating her, like girl went after what she wanted. Him behaving like he doesn`t want to date her and it was HIM WHO REPEATEDLY pushed intimacy on her during the three years they dated. Hmmm, he still wanted his girl,LOL!

This is my first time watching Tian Xiang on-screen and my my what a power house! He stole my freekin heart with his passionate performance!! His looks, grace, passion and just overall Anti-heroic kind of persona, who longed for his first love and was astounded to feel this raw attraction towards his patient who is married with a daughter. The way he looks at her is so sexy my heart could not stop beating! Everytime he lit that cigarette in his anguish, misery and passion he TOOK MY BREATH AWAY!

I have to give this drama TOP STARS since the intense feelings it invoked that i even cried near the end of Male Lead`s realization. I just loveeeee this beautiful angsty second-chance romance! Felt like reading one of my old-school Harlequin romances! It totally fed my romantic soul!

The first season of "He is into her" totally made me fall in love with the story and all the characters, especially the hate-love romance between Maxpein & Deib. They have become so iconic in such short time and i was so excited when the second season came out and i finally got the time to sit down and watch it after i re-watched season 1. Again, what a wonderful and bittersweet conclusion to the fates of characters that grow up, learn about love and life and fight for your happiness. In this case we knew that a terrible break up was fated to be for the star-crossed lovers because of a past that tied them together. My heart and soul hurt for both Maxpein & Deib. They were so torn and heartbroken. Obstacles never ending and becoming worse.
