Thank you! I still hate the SeSe character and thankfully, that seems to carry through to the end.

Episode 48 - I'm pretty sure that my heart was laying on the floor while someone jumped up and down on it while wearing cowboy boots. For atleast 46 minutes.

I agree with you: my favorite character is Xiao Feng. I saw on the FastDrama site a couple of blurbs how immature she was with no character growth. I very heartedly disagree with that statement; she was a nonconformist with zero desire to become a duplicitous pawn in the capital. I also agree that Li Chen Yin's character was the most interesting. I don't believe, in this drama, he was ever innocent. He was the pampered and manipulated prince of the palace. He saw and then became another player for the throne and regret wasn't an emotion in his repertoire. Usually in a story, there's also the author's point of view in a character, so I've watched, wondering which character could be used as the writer's POV. For me, I think it's the King. He observes but does not interfere while occasionally pointing out aspects of a scene (telling LCY how much XF loves him and he should cherish it). Do you have any thoughts on this?

I love your comments. I'd never thought about him being brainwashed but that is the truth. Mr. Chai sacrificed his wife and daughter for the sake of his own revenge plot. What's a little brainwashing on a small young boy but upping the ante on his plan? Do you have a favorite character in this?

My exact sentiments. I think that Gu Jian was very willing to let Xiao Feng live under his watchful protection from a distance until LCY slapped her. I believe that's when he gave into the reckless desire to love her for his last six months and then atleast she would be free in her own country.

I'm still waiting for the English subs even though I've watched the rest of the series without. This series has me thinking about different episodes even as I'm driving to Walmart. That may be my cue to put a therapist on speed dial!

No. He knows that the Empress and her family will use the person he shows affection to, so he instigates fights a lot with XF and shows a huge amount of affection for SeSe. The premise and narrative for this drama is really good. The screen writers screw up the character of LCY in the middle by inclining that he had affection for SeSe, but they right that ship towards the last episodes.

Is the subbing slow?
Yes. I think Viki has the rights to this on the international front and their subbing is done by volunteers.

Happy ending orb sad ending? Did they end up together at the end or not? Plz tell me
this one is tagged "tragedy", so I'll say the ending is sad. But, this is the best drama I've watched in a very long time. It takes your emotions on a rollercoaster ride, so if this is something you can withstand/like, this is definitely a must watch.

To me, they need a "Hello My Princess", sort of like Scarlet Heart, part 2. From what I understand, their 3 lives were past life, present life and future life. I say in future life, they are both the children of rival companies that are getting ready to merge. LCY and XF are the one's that have to handle the merger and although LCY is getting ready to marry SeSe, he kicks her straight to the curb after the first meeting with XF. (I'll forever be waterboarding the SeSe character). The rest I leave to the imagination. My version of a happy 3rd life.

Very true. That's why I love putting stuff out on this site because of the points that you and other viewers see that I've overlooked. I have to say, after the last episode is subbed and it's over, I am going to miss this immensely.

Just my very ameteur opinion on the "Goodbye My Princess" storyline and characters: to me, it was always the narrative that set the tone for LCY as a betrayer to XF, not the actual act. If XF had been a manipulative b$#!!, LCY would have been hailed as a hero in the viewers eyes and both characters in this plot would have been two dimensional. Instead, we see the 9th Princess as someone pampered, willful but without any guile. It's just not in her to be manipulative. So, when LCY and her Teacher betray her trust and kill the Danchi Tribe (forgive the spelling if it's wrong), we see both sides. That's just absolutely incredible storytelling, in my opinion. I don't see XF's character as childish but more like childlike after her memories are erased. At the end, when all the missing memory pieces are put back together for both characters, we see a Princess who understands and forgives LCY but also willingly sacrifices herself for peace. We see a Prince who understands the toll that justice for his mother's family and others has truly taken and has to live with the consequences of very noble intentions. I've watched other dramas and have enjoyed them thoroughly, but this one resonates with me, like a lingering memory. It's just that good in all ways.

I admire the writers, producers, actors and directors who have to withstand such scrutiny and censorship in order to tell a story. My hat definitely tips off!
