The FL is definitely a very confusing character according to me. He is clear as to what he wants but she is not . He is even ready to put it out in the open- she is the one who is scared to do that

Yeah the drama Zhitao is needy. She is doing this push and pull thing that is making her an opportunist. All those things she says to him about boundaries etc and then goes to his house for a document???? This makes her look shady and the most yuck character you can have . Give me a break. Maybe they think the audience does not like a bold woman . I would rather they give an in the face bold woman. I am only on episode 8 but their relationship right now is awkward and cringe

I understood that part but I also think LJQ has his own agenda . He is not as simple as he looks. Also LJQ does not strike me as a person who relies only on power .
The reason he got the emperor’s edict to marry is because he knew his family would not agree to that marriage

True . This story is more about a woman’s inner struggle to overcome fate . He is just one of those drivers of her fate and she does not want anything to do with him or his family.

There is a direct connection between her struggle with her past and her husband . We have to see how this plays out

So on episode 29- from what I gathered from the conversation between LJQ and his grandfather- his reason for going to the capital is not as simple as just serving the emperor. There seems to be more to it

Yes the trauma of the past I definitely agree with. The fact that she went back and got married to the same family definitely brought back all the bad memories that she has been living with to a certain extent . As to how he married her - for that time I guess that is how it was. He just set his eyes on her and married her the only way he could . And let’s be honest - women during that time had no choice. And the family does come as a package. The only logical reason for her resistance is the trauma. But then at this point do they know who she is? That is why I said fate played a cruel trick on her. Who should she blame for this?

I never said I did not understand her . But it does seem a little out of character for her . I just think that some of the things she does are uncalled for
