The story is great! It’s fiction - a good fiction needs to be entertaining and this one is. What bad script??? I think the story is very interesting , the romance is good, there is some intrigue/ thriller elements . And the aesthetics are good. All the actors have performed well. To me that is a wholesome enjoyable drama.
Watching episodes 19-23 and still the most heart wrenching episodes to watch. Even after so many rewatches. I guess I will never get over this drama. And I still can’t get over how they go all out to protect each other .

Not every drama needs to be a masterpiece . As long as it has an entertaining and interesting story that really pulls you in - you can enjoy it. That is the purpose! I am thoroughly loving this one. Reminds me of some of the older kdramas too. I used to love those . And I wish they still did 16 episodes or 21 episodes . I am not a huge fan of these shortened dramas. It loses that emotional depth .
Ugh - the king- that kid must be so traumatized by his mom. The queen mother needs psychiatric care and institutionalization. Her obsession and control has gotten out of hand! Another fire ? You have got to be kidding me . When does she stop?
Gee ep 9 is totally killing me . And I just want that PM to fuck off . I don’t get why the FL is so blindsided when it comes to him. It’s getting a little much. For all the bravado she showed - she is caving now with some noble idiocy??? What can I say - the dad gave her ‘amazing advice’!
I don’t like this PM guy . He is playing this double game just to get the FL. But when they showed the flashback to the poisoning - I still think the FL’s attitude is a little bit of an issue. Let’s hope she wakes up
I am just catching up after work travel and Mother’s Day. I am watching ep 9 and I don’t think the PM is noble at all . He is thinking this is an opportunity to break them. And of course the Queen mother is trying to push him into a corner- I am pretty sure that these two will not fall into this trap

Wow! Yan Ke just wanted her by his side? I really don’t think so. He wanted her to to be his puppet, so he could be powerful and control her . That was not al all love. And the ML was the most selfless person in the show and his love towards He Simu was selfless and robust . He lived life on his own terms and he never regretted his actions. He was happy when he made her happy. It was such a beautiful Iove story . But Yan Ke wanted to destroy both the spirit and mortal world just to own her . There was nothing loving or good there and he definitely was not the ‘better man’. And what exactly do you mean ‘bad dynamic’ between Duan Xu and He Simu? I don’t think you fully understood their story or their characters.
This whole rant about how ‘everything should be a healthy relationship’ is getting to the point of being ridiculous . It’s like a couple should be living on eggshells - God forbid if they do something for themselves that feels good. They can neither give nor take. Talk about healthy - is that healthy ? Denying something for yourself because the other person is not ok? Are you happy then? And are they happy?
I know a lot of people thought this drama went downhill after episode 19. But I disagree. I am rewatching and the 2nd arc is where you see some of Chen Fei Yu’’s best acting!
