I would not compare this story to L&P. Chen Yi is a very messed up and cannot be compared to Li Xun. I honestly don’t mind even if the FL had a serious relationship that did not work out with someone - because that is life. He literally kicked her out of his life and disappeared . There was no guarantee that they would meet again . L&P was a different kind of story. The leads were way more committed there.

This man is finally showing us what he is made of! Thoroughly loving him in Love For you! One of his best portrayals yet! He is oozing with talent!

I really loved that scene where he is looking for her earrings in the rain. You can literally see his internal struggle and that inner conflict. On the one hand he keep pushing her away and on the other he still wants to protect her. MJ can see all of this and that is why she asks ‘Do you even know what you are doing?’ Yeah the scenes between them in this drama are so layered and poignant. The way they have written the lead characters and how SWL and Jingyi have portrayed them is just amazing.
This is not an empty romance - it is very deep, layered and complicated as it should be because they both had only each other when growing up and this was not a normal dependency . And that is what they are trying to show. Because the present equation between them is full of this push and pull due to their past. This is not a normal romance/relationship- it is dysfunctional and complicated.
