More rewatch thoughts: Ep 20! I have never been so mad at the ML - she put the whole Yan army at risk just to save ‘her precious ZZ’ - she was so selfish here that it was inexcusable. I am waiting for this whole arc to end at 26

I agree with that - in many dramas the FL is portrayed as some one who do not care what the ML goes through

And Xie Wei playing the qin at the coming of age ceremony and when Yan family is exiled- channeling his mom - that was pretty good too. Man this story is done so well

And yes she puts on this act of being innocent and timid in front of Zhang Zhe

Wow! Wonderful analysis! Yes that is what I felt about her and Zhang Zhe- she just wanted to make that so called ‘perfect flawless precious stone’ aka Zhang Zhe hers . But she forgets that only in front of Xi Wei can she be her true self and he will accept her for who she is .of course this is all evident to the audience. Zhang Zhe was an obsession she carried from the previous timeline and then she thought that Xie Wei was the reason fro her death in the previous timeline

It is very interesting thought that for the FL everything Zhang Zhe does goers amplified and he appears as though he is the best person. But Xie Wei actually does a lot for the Yan family and her but she takes everything for granted.

Yes we know very early on that she is special to him and that he cares a lot for her. And his jealousy appears even before 11 - when he knows about her and Yan Lin

I agree this one could have 5-10 more episodes to finish of the story well. It felt rushed towards the end

Yeah I am glad they did not make the emperor stupid and he trusted the ML a lot- even before he knew his identity. But that dynamic between uncle and nephew and that entire coming of age ceremony was so deep- it was well done!

You are absolutely right- Cdramas are much better at bringing out the subtler and much deeper emotions . This one is so well done and that FL is so good!

This is getting more and more confusing but these whole thing definitely is created around the FL. Something definitely happened to the FL and the ML is trying to fix it and yes maybe something happened to the ML as well because of that. I am not even sure if this 2018 world which looks so real is actually the real one. May be the truth is somewhere in between? Gosh this is getting complicated or are we unwantedly complicating it?LOL

On my rewatch. That scene in ep 12/13 at Yan Lin’s coming of age ceremony with Yan Mu and Xie Wei at the ancestral hall- it was so poignant!

ML’s mother is dead- he visited her grave in Ep 20. And I think ML is alive.

I was wondering about that - he is into make up as well. Since ML has seen him I guess he is real

Yeah I still think it is about the FL- because she is the one who has the most distorted memories and she needed the money. She probably disappeared around the time he hit his head. That is is what make a most sense. But yes this FL is doing an amazing job!
